Conveniently located at a freeway exit, which was exactly what we needed. There was no traffic noise inside the hotel. Both the public areas and our room was spotless. Beds were very comfortable. We had two Queen beds (one each). Would have preferred 4 bath towels instead of three, and the availability of two extra pillows. No matter, housekeeping was just down the hallway. Loved that we had control of our own air conditioning temperature, especially since outside it was 110 deg.F. We liked the room setup with the coffee and fridge away from the bed areas around a corner. The parking was tight with one space left. Why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5: We didn't like that we could not get into the hotel through the side doors with our keycards, but had to walk around to the front in 110 deg temps. About the free breakfast....a major traffic jam at the waffle machine with long lines!! Listen to me Marriott! I realize you had a full house but traffic jams at self serve breakfasts can be avoided if you rearrange your buffet counterspace. First of all, since it is obviously a popular food item, you need TWO waffle machines, not just one. I know it takes 2.5 minutes cooking time for one waffle. Each guest has to wait 2.5 minutes for each guest before them. (No one was at the other end of the counter waiting for porridge). By having your waffle machine right next to the juice machine, guests cannot get to the juice machine. Guests were sitting ON the table where you keep the plates and plastic cutlery because they didn't want to stand while waiting. If you spread out the popular items and add another waffle machine with additional condiments for each waffle machine and put it at the other end of the counterspace you would not have frustrated guests....especially now that it is 9:30AM on a Saturday morning when the buffet closes... and some folks still haven't ben able to get their breakfast due to traffic jams at one waffle machine. If you need help with your buffet setup, I am happy to draw you a diagram.

Pro: Good location and comfortable beds. Not a lot of people in the hotel. Improvements: Found some hairs of previous guests in the bed. And there was no possibility for one hour later check out.

I will start off by saying that the young man who’s checked me in was both very personable and professional. There are really only two complaints that I have. Call it me being nit-picky because I travel a lot or simply wanting better value for the money I spend. Room- The room smelled. No other issues, but it just had a bad odor to it. Breakfast- The best of part of breakfast at any Holiday Inn has always been the cinnamon rolls. But, when you look at the pic I posted it begs the question, is this really all I get for $200 a night?! The eggs look slivers of rock shaved off a mountain… and the pancake maker was broken. I’m just saying, I don’t know how much it costs to operate a hotel, but imagine: If there were 50 people there and they all paid an average of $150 a night for a one night stay, that’s about 2.7 million during the year. And you mean to tell me for 2.7 million, they can’t afford room deodorizer and better breakfast?

This is actually now a Motel 6 and has been completely renovated. Clean, tastefully decorated, in-room coffee maker and refrigerator/freezer. The largest TV that I've ever watched. Not cheap but reasonable. The owner was smart and professional. I highly recommend.

We stayed at this location as a way stop while helping move our daughter to southern California for school. We were caravanning with two cars loaded with household items. Prior plans to connect with family in the Yosemite area (and keep things secure overnight) had to be hastily changed because of evolving wildfires. We made a last minute reservation and pulled in to this hotel later in the evening. Ever aware of possible security risks, but knowing there wasn’t any way to avoid leaving things in the cars, we took a little comfort that they had someone sitting outside the hotel entry who the desk indicated was there to watch the cars –and we did take more valuable items like laptop computers to the room. When we returned to our cars early the next morning, both of them had smashed backseat windows. The household items, mostly packed in storage bins, were untouched. However, about half of our daughter’s clothes that were in a large stuffed duffle and two handmade quilts – one she’d made with her grandmother last year before she passed – were gone. I’m giving the hotel 1 star because of security. The security person they had out front seemed to be semi-catatonic, which had prompted my inquiry at the desk when we checked in, and which in hindsight should have raised more questions. However, with a last minute, nonrefundable reservation and being at the end of a 12 hour day of driving we didn’t feel like we had much choice. The signs about not leaving valuables in your car that dot the parking lot also aren’t much help, except for the hotel to be able to say “we told you so”. This is a hotel along the highway -of course there are travelers with stuff –most people aren’t just making a short trip to the corner mall. The hotel staff nicely helped get us trash bags, broom and vacuum to clean up all the broken glass, and provided the phone number for the police, but didn’t do much more. I asked about security camera footage since we were right in the field of view for two cameras –but the front desk couldn’t reach their manager to get permission to share it. I left my name and phone, but never heard back. We called the police immediately upon discovering the damage and stolen items, but they didn’t show up and so we left to start looking for someplace that could replace broken windows on a Saturday (hint, auto dealers aren’t likely going to be able to help). We got one car fixed at a glass shop associated with the local pick-n-pull –but it took about half the day. The other vehicle, which was less than a week old, I ended up driving to southern California without a window (which means other windows also have to be down to avoid the resulting wind throb –that’s fun for 4-1/2 hours) with the hope of finding a dealer to make the repair near our final destination. In the end, this is a crime hole. Until the Hotel finds way to really effectively ensure safety and security (it’s a cinch as others aren’t going to) you’d be be

This was my first visit at the Hampton Inn and Suites Fresno-Northwest, and let me assure you...this is one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had staying in a Hotel. The staff was extremely attentive and made me feel not only welcomed...but wanted. Rosa and Gabriel were so kind to me... the whole staff made me want to keep coming back. I highly recommend staying here. Thank you Hampton Staff!
