Hemos estado una noche y ha sido una estancia muy agradable. Para empezar hicimos la reserva a través de Booking, pero por motivos personales tuvimos que adelantar la estancia una noche, lo comentamos y no hubo ningún problema ni tampoco un coste adicional. La comunicación en todo momento muy bien, vía WhatsApp indicando como entrar y acceder al alojamiento. La habitación es más amplia de lo esperado, muy limpia y renovada. Nos ha gustado mucho. A parte hay una zona comunitaria con cocina y terraza donde incluso puedes utilizar todos los productos y comida que dejan. Lo único malo que diría es que no tiene ascensor y si estás en la tercera planta como nosotros es un poco incomodo subir y bajar las maletas.

My tour group stayed here and I loved it. This 100 plus year old hotel is quirky and interesting. It has old world charm with it's lack of modernity. Don't expect all the mod cons but go with an open mind. The hotel dates back to 1926 and has old fashioned furnishings and feels like a step back in time. Spacious rooms and an interesting history. Get the staff to tell you about hidden doorways and underground rooms...I won't spoil it but we found the hidden doorways! I wish they did tours of the place. Breakfast was standard for Europe- all the usual bits. Elevator is cool, as mentioned in other reviews. The hotel has historic pictures all around the place. Wifi works best in the lobby- hit and miss in the rooms, is not a strong signal. I could open stuff but not access websites! I really enjoyed this hotel and would so love to explore the 'hidden' bits, or read up on the history!! Would be good if the hotel had more info about the place to share.

This hotel is a hidden gem! Great location that includes being minutes (walking) from the heart of old city center of Coimbra, great small resturants, shopping, and seeing the university. There is also a grocery store about 2 minutes walking distance which is always a bonus in my book. This hotel is located about 4 walking minutes from the train station and about a 7 minute drive from the bus station. What I loved about this hotel is the bar area, which is also the breakfast area, and then you walk up a flight of stairs to one of the best roof top sitting area! Amazing picture taking. The bar opens at 4:00PM and offers light eats, wine, beer, and other drinks. Good prices as well. Breakfast is very good with eggs, bacon, fruit, and many other items. The only con I would say is that the rooms are a little dated and bare essentials provided. However, it doesn't keep me from recommending the hotel highly and I would love to visit again. Also, bonus the staff is very friendly and helpful. Great stay!

Wonderful value! Its a simple but nice and clean room. Very good location, free parking in a large, covered public deck just a few hundred meters away. It's right across the river from the historic hill in the center of town that the Univ is at. Just a few min walk to great restaurants, old churches, squares ect. A couple cafes right next door as well Biggest drawback is the mediocre mattress and pillows, but that will be the case at almost anywhere in Iberia, especially in this price range. And the pillows/mattress weren't too bad. It's on a main street - which makes it very accessible to everything and gave my room a great view of the river and some of the historic buildings, but noise from this area could be an issue for some. Attendant for my stay spoke perfect English if that matters to anyone. If you're mobility impaired, be advised I don't believe elevators are available, so you may have to walk up 2 floors..

We had a family suite here, overlooking the river. The room was large and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom looked to be new and well equipped. The desk staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. There is daily service for the rooms. Parking is very close, cheap and safe. The added bonuses of staying here are a shared kitchen with a small, delightful rooftop terrace and a larger terrace on the first floor. Walking over the bridge to the main pedestrian street takes less than 5 minutes. The Santa Clara neighborhood is quiet with a number of restaurants. A large supermarket is about a ten minute walk away from town. NOTE - it is difficult to find the building coming in off the highway. It is and the end of the block with no clear identification by the door. The name is on the river side. You need to drive over a sidewalk from the main road as the short street is quite easy to miss. This place is a real find, so glad we stayed here!

I absolutely loved staying at this place. All the staff were friendly, efficient and professional making for a very enjoyable couple of days. The entire experience was relaxing from the check in, the paperwork was done whilst I drank the offered beer, the introduction to my room by the guy on the check in desk to the evenings spent on the terrace - my glass was kept topped up by waiters who were careful to check if I wanted a refill without being tiresome or intrusive. I also enjoyed the modern Italian restaurant, the food was great and the service was, once again, fantastic. The rooms were very interesting, comfortable and with air conditioning that worked very well (that should be a given in any hotel but often is not). The hotel refers to them as 'cubicles' but I don't think that does them justice, they are beautiful, under ground, wood lined cabins.
