"I stayed in a Japanese-style room. The room was clean, the food was delicious, and overall it was a great stay. However, since it was November, the room was a little cold. Also, the light from the hallway came in through the window between my room and the hallway 24 hours a day, making it difficult to sleep, so I think it would have been better if there were curtains on the windows. The food and service were great!"

"I chose this lodging because I wanted to visit Eiheiji Temple. It's a five-minute walk away, and offers experiences at Eiheiji, including zazen (a meditation session) at 3:05 PM and sutra copying (a sutra calligraphy session) with a 4:30 AM gathering. Free temple visit tickets are available, so stop by the front desk first. All rooms face the Eiheiji approach. While it's not a hot spring, you can relax with scented bath salts. The open-air bath is small, though. There's a shower in the room, and even if it's crowded, the large public bath is available when there are many foreign visitors. The shower head and hair dryer in the large public bath are Refa, which are quite good. The entire inn smells of Eiheiji incense. There's also a video of Eiheiji on the TV, which is helpful. There's no parking lot, so after unloading your luggage, you'll need to find a nearby parking lot. Parking is 300 yen everywhere. Eiheiji closes at 4:30 PM, and the souvenir shops along the approach also close around 4 PM, so you'll likely spend most of your time in your room, so bring a book with you."
