"Extraordinary service! Came to this traditional and exquisite hot spring hotel before the Furukawa Festival. The food was rich and I recommend the shabushabu. In addition, we were taken to see the local residents rehearsing for the Furukawa Festival in the evening, which was very impressive. Most of the front desk staff speak good English. "When I visit Furukawa, I check if Tomoe Hotel is available first. The location is good, the staff is good, and the breakfast is good. The room is not too bad. The unit bath is the same as a business hotel. The air conditioner has an AI comfort function, which I felt was new. What surprised me was the bath. The staff was humble and said, "It's small, so if you don't mind, please use it," but it was not! It was just right for me. I think three people is the best. If there were more than that, it might feel cramped. By chance, no one was in the room and we had it all to ourselves, and the free foot massage machine was surprisingly good. It was also good that there were two types of hot water available! I could hear a little snoring from the person in the next room, which didn't bother me, but it bothered my wife. This is the only hotel in front of the Furukawa station (there are inns and private lodgings)."

"The hotel is very unique and has a 170-year history! On the day of check-in, the hotel was very considerate and sent red bean rice cake soup. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, and the bathroom had a private bath so we could soak in the hot spring anytime. Both breakfast and dinner are very special. Dinner is Kaiseki cuisine with delicious Hida beef. Every dish is very delicious. The boss also came to take pictures for us and printed them out for me the next day! In summary, the hotel is very comfortable to stay in, and the service is very satisfactory and considerate!"
