"Breakfast was incredible - absolute highlight of the trip! Sat on the beach with the best view for brekkie! A fair way out from town but a beautiful stretch of beach! One of the nicest beach areas we saw and we walked along this section of the island a few times in our holiday there - excellent relaxing music & a good atmosphere with no children. Good & friendly service, nice and clean room, only negative was we struggled to find the entrance and had to wait for staff to check in. If you get rain be aware the roads get fairly waterlogged but you can just about navigate this."

"The room was quite large, with a living area with a sofa, a separate bedroom, and a fairly spacious bathroom. Holbox isn't a very big town, so you're close to everything from this hotel, but it's not in the main bar and restaurant area, and it's about a 5-minute walk to the beach. It was a bit dark walking back to the hotel at night. So, if you're looking for peace and quiet at a good price, it's quite good."

"El Pueblito is a Hotel situated in the Centre of Holbox. Its rooms have been thoughtfully designed inside with all the basics. The doors lead directly onto the Hotels outside walkway and with glass doors if you don’t keep the curtains closed everyone can see into your room, this makes the room very dark. Absolutely forget the breakfast, I would strongly advise booking this hotel without breakfast. On one day they had run out and the other days it was just a bit of Bimbo bread with jam. You could have eggs but they were slow and the waiters at breakfast were not very helpful."

Only one problem: upon arrival, they gave me the wrong room and only told me that there was an error in my reservation on the part of the app and that, based on what I had paid, that was the room I was entitled to. I showed them my reservation; I had paid for something better with a king bed (it said so in the description of my reservation). They replied that they didn't have another room and that they could change it for me the next day…"

"The service was terrible. They made a mistake with my booking and gave us the wrong room. They have not provided any solution to the problem. Well, if you find this a solution: ‘we will not charge the room if you want to go to an other hotel’. Like if there is a decent room somewhere else to find between Christimas and NYE. It is also very noisy in the hotel. You can literally follow all the conversations word for word when there are people in the common room. We also had a neighbor who snored a lot, so at night it seemed like he was sleeping in our room. In the morning you can only shower with cold water. The room is too dark to have a pleasant stay. Normally I like to be in my hotelroom to rest or chill. But I rather was outside then wasting my time in a room with poor ventilation. Only positive thing I can mention is that the room is clean. One last note: We were on the island during a period with many mud puddles and rain puddles. Then it is quite a miserable distance to walk to the center and beach without being covered in mud up to your ankles. taxi is then the only option. You were less affected by the problem in the center, because they have high sidewalks there. So this hotel is only pleasant in terms of distance to the center and beach when it is dry on the island"

"Expensive compared to the room; it looks nice but it isn't. The room is charmless, very basic, and doesn't even have any furniture. The mattress is on a cement base, and there's not even a table, chair, or armchair to hang clothes on. They invested as little as possible in the room and the hotel. Only two rooms have an ocean view. The restaurant is pleasant, a bit pricey, and the food is good. It's nice and right on the beach. I don't recommend it for families with children because there's no space for them to play. It's a quiet, small place. There's a terrace with a pool and a nice view."

"The hotel far exceeded our expectations. It is beautiful, peaceful, full of plants and rustic. One block from the sea. The breakfast is very rich, it has coffee with vegetable milk, fruit juice, pancakes, fruit, scrambled eggs, cereals, granola, yogurt, bread. The dinners are also delicious; Usually there are three different dishes of your choice + salads. They are seasoned in the Mexican style and the quantity is very good. We also understand that the next reservations will be without dinner. Everything is very well organized by Víctor and Óscar. They have a super friendly treatment with all guests and are very helpful, both for doubts/queries regarding the hotel as well as tours or things to do on the island. We left very happy. We would return to the hotel because the stay was wonderful. I highly recommend it, you won't regret it if you decide to go."

"Nice small hotel with excellent staff, especially Julio was a pleasure to meet. At first we were a little disappointed when we arrived, but the place grew on us 😊 It is very beautiful and well kept! Hot water works! WiFi works! Pool works! It’s super quiet and a good walk from town but close to other hotel restaurants. The breakfast is simple and nice and all you need to start the day! It’s not on the beach but 2 minutes away - unfortunately the beach was covered in seaweed at this time, so we (on recommendation from Julio) went to a beach club at another hotel. On top of the main house is a Shala that we used for afternoon workouts. And there are raccoons that comes to the balcony 🙈 Only bad thing is the beds, that are memory foam and that makes them SUPER soft - not at good thing for a 200lb man… Luckily O could take a nap on the pool chairs…"

"Casa del Viento by ÓOL – A Major Letdown Compared to Our First Stay Wow — what a complete downturn from our last visit to Holbox. The first time we stayed at Hotel Paraiso, we truly felt like we were in paradise. This time, we chose Casa del Viento by ÓOL, and unfortunately, it was a disappointment. There was nowhere to hang our clothes, not a single chair in the room, and the beds were uncomfortably small. The idea of cleanliness seemed to rely solely on the chemical smell they sprayed — but in reality, the room was dusty and full of bugs. We killed at least 35 insects the first night just to be able to sleep. The noise level was insane — loud music and shouting until 2 AM, and then the chaos started again at 6 AM. Forget about rest. The front desk staff was indifferent, primarily or outright rude, except for Sofia, who was the only helpful and polite person we encountered. She greeted guests with warmth and seemed to care — the rest, unfortunately, did not. What’s frustrating is that the problems are so easily fixable — buy a chair for each room, add a small desk, install a few hangers, and actually clean the place properly. Instead, the management seems completely uninterested in improving the guest experience. This hotel felt like a cheap nomad hostel dressed up with boutique pricing, and I would never stay here again. There’s no effort, no comfort, and no hospitality — just noise, dust, bugs, and bad vibes. Choose somewhere else."

"The room was very nice and cleaned daily as you bring in sand from the streets. Just a few minutes walk to the beach so we didn't mind at all not staying right on the beach. It is just a couple of blocks from the center but just far enough away to not be noisy. Always felt safe walking around. The breakfast was delicious and breakfast staff was accommodating. The office staff was ok - not always the friendliest but nice enough. Our room definitely was geared toward couples because there was no door to the bathroom so could see right into the shower from the bedroom and living space which was a little awkward as we were friends/not a couple. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time and to select a different room. Felt it was a little over priced but with the nice breakfast included it made it reasonable. If I returned to Holbox, this would be on my list of places to consider again."
