Unlike most lakeside properties, there isn't even a road separating the hotel from the water. From the patio, we could sit with a cup of tea and gaze at the entire snow-capped Himalayan range reflected in the lake, a view that never grew old no matter how many times we saw it. The lodge's biggest USP is undoubtedly the journey to the property itself. Situated on its own island in Phewa Lake, guests are transported by a charming rope-pulled raft. It is a delightful experience that instantly sets the tone for the stay. Our 11-year-old loved it and honestly, so did the adults. Every arrival and departure felt like a little adventure. The location is also incredibly convenient. The boating club is right next door and the vibrant night market is just a pleasant 10-minute walk away, allowing easy access to Pokhara's attractions while still enjoying the serenity of the lodge. What truly impressed us, however, was the staff. Every member of the team was warm, attentive and eager to help. They even assisted me in arranging my bungee-jumping experience, making the process seamless. During our stay, our 11-year-old daughter unfortunately fell ill. What could have been a stressful situation was handled with remarkable care and efficiency. Within minutes, the hotel had arranged for a doctor to attend to her. What followed was hospitality at its finest. The Head Chef personally visited us multiple times over the next two days, carefully curating meals suited to her recovery and checking on her progress. It was a level of kindness and personal attention that we will never forget. The food throughout our stay was excellent, with plenty of child-friendly options. The spa was also wonderful and provided the perfect opportunity to relax after days of sightseeing and adventure activities. We stayed in one of the basic cottages. While we did attempt to upgrade, the property was fully booked. The cottages have an old-world charm and are very comfortable, though as a family of three we felt a little snug at times. That said, this was a minor consideration in an otherwise exceptional stay. The small swimming pool, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the jungle, offers a uniquely tranquil experience that is difficult to replicate elsewhere. There is something incredibly special about swimming while being enveloped by nature, with the lake and mountains never far from view.
