This location is always a good one. Rooms are well kept and service has never been anything but helpful. You are in walking distance from Disney Springs and the hotel offers to shuttle you to the park if needed! Great deal for half of the disney resort price.

This is a brand-new hotel in a stunning location which should be great. Instead, my family and I had a truly terrible experience from the first moment there. Don't stay at this property unless you're prepared to deal with frustration and disappointment. The hotel was nowhere close to full during our mid-week stay, yet our rooms were not ready at check-in, and the staff rudely evaded my questions about when we'd be able to have access. (This isn't a small matter when you're trying to manage increasingly tired and frustrated kids.) The property advertises an ”arrivals/departures lounge” where you can change/shower/etc. before you check-in or after you check-out, but it wasn't ready during our stay. (Of course, there wasn't anything to indicate that it wasn't open yet, and the doors were unlocked. I only figured out that it wasn't open when I tried to use the lockers inside and asked a pool attendant why the lockers weren't working.) Once we finally had access to our connecting rooms, they were a major disappointment, both in quality and layout. The connecting doors were on springs that automatically, so we had to jam bath towels in the doors to keep them open. (What's the point of having a connecting room for kids if the doors to the parents' room automatically close?) The quality of the furnishings and hardware in the room is far below what you'd expect on a property that advertises itself as a luxury resort. The vinyl flooring was not installed properly and was bubbling up at the connecting doors. The button to toggle between bath and shower operation fell off when I grazed it with my hand. There was still painter's tape all over the inside of the connecting doors -- nobody had bothered to take it off. Quality control was non-existent. Perhaps more importantly, it seems like nobody put much thought into getting the details right at this place. The only trash can in the bathrooms is tucked into the commode -- there isn't one near the sink, where it's needed most. In two bed rooms, there's a large circular table in the middle of the room between two beds, which is easy to trip on when the room is dark and impedes the flow of the room. The lobby and front entrance to the property is on the third floor -- but there's no sign in the elevators telling you that, and only the first floor is marked with a star (which, of course, usually denotes the building's main exit.) The service was no better. In the morning, we had an early reservation for a Disney breakfast, so I tried to call down twice to have the valet bring our car to the front. The hotel's phones weren't working. I tried calling the front desk from my cell phone -- still, not working. We then went downstairs and told valet in person to bring our car around, and we had to wait several minutes for it. In the meantime, I told the front desk attendant that the phones weren't working, both on the inside phones and when calling from my cell phone. He dismissively told me t

The staff was excellent , very helpful and kind. The hallways smelled a bit musty as well as the room. Maybe the rugs need to be cleaned more often. The hotel appears to be older which accounts for small lower quality upgrades in the room. The upgrades done were somewhat lacking like incomplete paint trim in the restroom which included rough door bottom edging with pealing paint, as well as rust at the bottom of the metal door frames. The shower head was old and outdated and did not function properly for adjustment of different spray options. The restroom fan was loud, pool quality and connected to the light switch so both are on at the same time. This did not allow the light function at late night without the noisy fan. The fan should be replaced with a much quieter better quality type like a Panasonic multi speed. The towels were clean and also had a musty smell. The window covering did not function properly and was difficult to operate. The room light switching was located only at the entrance to the room which was a long hallway before entering the room. An addition set of redundant switches closer to the main room would be a very helpful convenience preventing long trips to the main door for night shut - off or modulation of lighting within the room. Overall I would rate the Hotel based on price and room at 3 or 3.5. However, the staff was very attentive and responsive, the hotel was properly staffed for quick check-in and deserve a rating of 5. Dear Fort Wilderness Management, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share some feedback regarding our recent stay at Fort Wilderness. We were very excited about our camping trip; however, we encountered several issues that significantly impacted our experience. I had initially intended to leave a positive review, but due to the numerous problems we faced, it is difficult to do so. This trip was a graduation present for my son, and unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations, essentially ruining what was supposed to be a special occasion. Many aspects of our stay did not meet the advertised standards, and it has left us questioning whether we would return to this property or recommend it to others. The issues we encountered include: 1. **Refillable Cups**: We purchased a $24 refillable cup, but the ice machines were not functioning, which was very inconvenient as well as frustrating. Why did I pay such. High price for something that doesn’t work? 2. **Electric Bikes**: We were disappointed to discover that electric bikes are not permitted, only manual bikes. Additionally, the website does not clearly state that golf carts are generally sold out, leaving guests with limited transportation options unless they use the buses or walk. 3. **Pool Seating**: Many guests reserve pool chairs with towels without using them, leaving others without seating. This practice should be monitored by staff to ensure all paying guests can enjoy the pool amenities. 4. **High Food Prices**: The cost of food items, such as $11.99 for a slice of pizza, is excessively high. 5. **Fishing Areas**: The designated fishing areas are limited to two small spots, both of which are in direct sunlight. This makes it challenging for families with young children to enjoy this activity comfortably. It also makes zero sense when there are an abundance of shaded spots that fishing is possible. 6. **Chipmunk Show**: The seating arrangement for the Chipmunk Show is problematic. Children are required to sit in the bleachers far from the stage, which causes them to become upset because they cannot see the characters, disrupting the experience for everyone. 7. **Playgrounds**: The playgrounds are not shaded, making them uncomfortable for children to use during the day. 8. **Pool Restrictions**: Guests are not allowed to jump into the pool or sit on the edge to watch their children, yet there is often no available seating due to reserved chairs. This creates a stressful environment for parents with young children. Given these experiences, it is hard for me to consider returning to Fort Wilderness. This is particularly disappointing because we have never encountered such issues at other Disney properties. The standards here did not meet the usual Disney quality, and it is clear that improvements are needed.  We had high hopes for this trip and believed that Disney would provide a memorable and enjoyable experience. The check in process was easy and the staff at the front desk was very friendly. Actually, every staff member I encountered was very friendly. The location was super convenient to Disney Springs, and they offered a complimentary shuttle to every Disney park. I did not eat there or use the pool so cannot speak to that.
