Hotel berhampiran Retiro, Madrid

We had a wonderful stay in Crowne Plaza Centew Retiro. Few min walk to Metro. Ginos restaurant and VIPS restaurant are opposite to the hotel and closed at midnight. The junior suite was great with a King bed and a double sofa bed which are big enough for a family of 4. The hotel provided welcome drinks and snacks in the bar. Free Illy coffee capsules and cookies in the room. The minibar in the junior suite was fully stocked and complimentary. All staff are friendly and nice. Thanks Nuria Pastor and your team for the arrangement which made our journey so special. We would definitely recommend our friends to stay here. The hotel was connected with Voco. We also booked buffet breakfast in Voco hotel with kid price EUR15 and Adult EUR 19. Great variety of food and drinks.

We stayed at the hotel for one night and overall had a very positive experience. The hotel is quite large and conveniently located slightly inside from the main street, in a quieter inner area. This actually makes car access very comfortable and convenient. The room itself was great — blackout curtains (which are very important for good sleep), a comfortable mattress, and everything felt clean and well maintained. The service was also good and professional. For a short stay, the price-quality ratio is absolutely fair. Overall, we were satisfied and would consider staying here again.

We had a very pleasant stay at Leonardo Hotel Madrid City Center. The location is excellent, only about a 3-minute walk to San Bernardo Metro station, which made it very easy to get around Madrid. Many main tourist attractions are also within walking distance, around 15–30 minutes, which was very convenient. The room was small, but comfortable and clean. We also enjoyed that the TV channels showed the World Cup 2026 matches, which was a nice bonus during our stay. Overall, this hotel is a great choice for its location, comfort, and convenience. Highly recommended for tourists visiting Madrid.

This review is not about the €9 breakfast charge. I paid for the breakfast because I had eaten it. This review is about how I was treated afterwards. A simple misunderstanding over breakfast escalated into one of the most unprofessional hotel experiences I have ever had. After I politely suggested that the hotel communicate its breakfast policy more clearly to avoid similar misunderstandings in the future, a staff member, Yansel, began shouting at me from outside the hotel, called me back inside, repeatedly accused me of “trying to play with him,” raised his voice throughout the interaction, claimed that he was the manager, refused my request to speak with the General Manager, and aggressively handled my personal belongings. He pushed and kicked my luggage towards the exit, damaged my bags, repeatedly shouted at me to take my belongings and leave, and I also felt mocked while trying to communicate in English instead of being treated with patience and professionalism. As a solo female traveller, I found this behaviour intimidating and completely unacceptable. Guests should be able to raise feedback respectfully without being shouted at, aggressively confronted, or having their belongings handled in this manner. I later spoke with Raul, who was professional, apologised for the way I had been treated, acknowledged that there had been been a misunderstanding regarding the breakfast, confirmed that I was entitled to leave my luggage after check-out, and informed me that Yansel was not the General Manager or the manager. I appreciate Raul’s professionalism. However, that does not change what happened. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying at Hotel Mayerling Madrid. There are many hotels in Madrid where guests can expect to be treated with professionalism and respect. In my experience, this was not one of them. As a solo female traveller, I did not feel safe after the way this situation was handled. For that reason, I cannot recommend this hotel and would encourage other travellers to consider alternative accommodation.

Bit hard to get to/from the airport they do have shuttle services but its a lil tricky navigating the site plus they are only available between certain hours of the day. Its in the middle of nowhere. Just industrial area and other hotels. Which forces you to dine in, breakfast is decent, but dinner was bad. Feel like the food in general is cheap, but charged at a premium. Poor quality ingredients for what you are paying for. I dont expect a mcchicken burger at 18euro. I expect a real chicken breast. Not mechanical blended meat. Other than that the place is actually really nice. Im a fan of that Scandinavian minimal look. Next time i would actually still stay here but just taxi to a nearby restaurant or uber eats some nicer food instead of dining in. Staff were lovely and helpful. Decent gym too. They need slightly heavier weights but you can get a good work out with thats there. I may of got swindled as I ordered a double and they put the singles together. I didnt want to make a fuss but look out for that.

Despite looking like being close to the airport you have a 20 minute ride and the hotel offers no Shuttle Service, leaving you to pay 25€ per ride, costing extra 50€ to go back and forth. The staff wasn’t exactly welcoming nor helpful. The rooms are nice and clean. Next time I’ll look for a better hotel by paying 20€ and save me the extra costs.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The front desk staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. The hotel room was exceptionally clean and well maintained, which made our stay very comfortable. One of the highlights was the stunning rooftop view it was absolutely beautiful and added a special touch to our experience. We enjoyed our stay very much.

I was in a shared female dorm. Nice bed and location. A towel was provided but be prepared for a cold water shower. No real kitchen to speak of. Just a small iced over fridge and microwave. It’s in a nice location and easy to walk to all the hot spots.

I could say it good but showers are the army or prison standard showers. No way to use it.

This hostel offers a very good balance between price and quality. The room, bathroom, sheets, and towels are clean. The location is very central, yet it is completely quiet on the third floor. Check-in may be complicated for non-Spanish-speaking guests, as you do not receive any information prior to arrival. Shampoo and shower gel are provided. The air conditioning is new and works very well. This place opened in 2023.
