This was our second stay at the Alila Kothaifaru Maldives within the past six months. We returned because of the unparalleled service, and again, the staff went above and beyond expectations. This time we brought extended family with us (we were eager to share this experience!) and the staff at Alila did an amazing job looking out for all of us, from the little ones all the way up to our aging parents. Once again, a huge thanks to our villa host Alla for anticipating our needs and keeping our schedules straight. Aiham is the best housekeeper we have ever had anywhere in the world, and he even spent extra time with the kids teaching them towel art! There are so many others to recognize and this list is not meant to be exhaustive and is in no particular order: Justus, Ugyen, Maaish, Chef Raj, Chamarah (fabulous back of the house tour), Jackie, Chelsea, Egor, Aneel, and Ajey were all wonderful and kind. In addition, it was comforting to be greeted by Faiz when we first arrived at the airport, and he was the last to see us off at the end. Resort Manager Jamal really made sure we were taken care of throughout our stay. Both he and Thomas the GM were highly visible throughout the week and very hands on, with Thomas removing debris from the beach at 6 am for example! This just goes to show how much the leadership team cares about all the details and in the end their efforts were clearly evident in the delivered product. Even though getting to the Maldives isn’t easy from Boston, it is safe to say we will be back for a THIRD time in the near future! A recent Condé Nast article (Dec 2023) about the Alila Kothaifaru Maldives is spot on. The service is out of this world here, and it is for that reason you will be looking to book your return trip even before your time is up—that is exactly what we did!
