"The hotel's location is excellent. It's located in the city center. The city's best beaches are a 20-minute taxi ride away, costing 185-250 MTK. The beach is called Costa do Sol. The central market is a 20-minute walk away. The airport is a 12-15-minute taxi ride, costing 150-200 MTK. The Wi-Fi worked well. The breakfast was delicious. You won't go hungry until lunch. The reception staff was welcoming."

"A hotel with the history of Polana and a 5-star rating must have the best-kept pool area. You should pay attention to the mosaic flooring, as some of it is broken, and in addition to showing that the facilities need maintenance, it is also dangerous. The cushions on the sun loungers need to be replaced, some are torn, some are stained, some have broken zippers and almost all of them have the sponge sticking out! Now this gives a sloppy look and not worthy of a 5 star hotel. They should also change the sun hats, some are broken and torn and others belong to a beer brand - Stella Artois!!! The meals are nice but very slow, we ended up waiting an hour for two soups and two sandwiches!"

"The room was very small and the experience was terrible. There was nothing there, and I had to ask for everything at the front desk. The water was cold from the second night onwards, and there was no hot water on the third morning. It wasn't fixed until the third night. There was no buffet, and you had to pay for food. It was very inconvenient and a very bad experience. I wouldn't recommend it."

"Great service from the hotel. Literally booked last minute, a day or two prior to travel and the hotel managed to organise an airport shuttle. Check-in was seamless and the rooms were neat, clean and very comfortable beds and bedding. The breakfast is amazing and I love the fact that City Lodge Maputo is the only hotel I know of that offers chilled fresh coconut water served in the actual coconut!"

"Great location, some 15 walking minutes to the seaside and the civic center. Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Rooms are clean and modern, however the quality of the furniture really isn't upscale as you would expect, considering the pricing. Great view onto the harbor from the 14th floor, really enjoyed it. Late check out was offered to me. The only real downside is the completely incompetent staff at breakfast. When I went there 8 o'clock in the morning, there were around 15 guests taking breakfast with around 10 employes being présent. So it was an easy match for them to serve the guests well. But they are just not doing their job. They are talking, hanging around and just doing NOTHING. After 10 minutes, I was standing up, asking if I can finally get a coffee. After another 15 minutes, had to jump from my chair to check if there is any chance to fill up my mug. SAD. The executives of this hotel should have a conversation with the Manager who is responsible for this mess, cause it ruins the otherwise good reputation of the hotel. If it continues like that, GOOD NIGHT TO YOUR 4 STARS! I am actually still giving a 5 Star rating here, for the great Ladies and Gentlemen at the Reception who where so helpful"
