"Just spent 12 wonderful nights at the charming 20 Degres Sud. We had a beach front room with a terrace and it was a joy to be so few steps from the ocean. The beach itself is relatively small but feels spacious and there was always plenty of available sunbeds. The free boat across to Grand Baie was really handy and a fun way to pop into town. We were on the half board package and the food was excellent. There was a good range of choice and we particularly enjoyed the curries. We went out for dinner on a couple of occassions so we swapped dinner for lunch, which was a simpler menu as you would expect, but nevertheless very good. However, the thing that made this such a memorable stay was the staff. The service was exceptional. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and just couldn't do enough for you. The was the case throughout the hotel, from housekeeping, to waterports, to reception, and we particularly enjoyed the service and company of the guys in the bar and restaurant. There are just too many names to mention individually. Overall, this is an exceptional boutique hotel in a great location, and we will defintely be returning at somepoint hopefully in the not too disant future."

"Overall, it is a very good hotel. The suite has 2 single beds and 1 double bed. It is no problem for a family of four, and there is no additional charge for 2 children under 16 years old in this room type, including breakfast, but breakfast is not included. It's too suitable for East Asian tastes. Dinner is a little better, just a little bit. We lost a child's schoolbag at the airport in Mauritius, and there were valuables inside. We thought we couldn't find it, but the Intercontinental front desk guy helped us contact the airport police station, and the schoolbag was recovered, which was very NICE. It was a bit unpleasant to check out later. More than a thousand euros were deducted from me. After negotiation, it was refunded to my account after returning to China. Overall, it was perfect. Ctrip officials were also very helpful!"

However, there are some reefs on the main beach, and there are often groupers in them, which is not suitable for swimming. But you can play in the water The hotel is located near the bus station. There are many buses that can go to the areas along the Great Bay. The fare is only 30 rupees, which is equivalent to 4.5 RMB. Very convenient. The open beach near the hotel is better and you can go paragliding. The hotel staff were quite enthusiastic, but when settling the exchange rate, they were too clever and gave me 43 for 1 U.S. dollar. The normal rate at the airport was 46. To be honest, I didn’t have much money, but I just felt uncomfortable. Regarding lunch, it costs 30 US dollars, but it is relatively simple and has not many tricks. Breakfast is basically the same every day. There are local weddings held every day in the hotel, which is very festive and shows that the hotel's consumption is reasonable. It is a very cost-effective seaside hotel in the Grand Bay area of ​​Mauritius and is worth staying for many days."

"Cons - Dishwasher didn’t work - Beds are very hard - We had to get blanket replaced as it had mould all over it - Water only provided on first day - Hair in the shower and all over basin - One bathroom sink was blocked - Rips in curtain - No extra pillows - Safe didn’t work - aircons only on bedrooms - no alcohol by the pool. Glass by the pool and disorderly behavior, I understand. But not being able to enjoy a can of beer by the pool is unreasonable. - not their fault, but the beach out the front is not a swimming beach. - was only sent information about on door dining after we’d checked in. That would have been very helpful to know before we checked in as we got in late and could have arranged for meals for the children for the first might. Pros - a nice view - pool was nice - two bathrooms is great for families - one parking spot - the blanket was replaced quickly - a well stocked kitchen - the restaurant across the road was great"
