"What a smashing wee hotel. We had a room on the 1st floor with terrace which was fantastic as we had direct access out onto the courtyard grass area with patio tables and loungers. The hotel is immaculate with modern interiors and a gym with spa. The whole ambience is cool and calm and peaceful and the location is fantastic, only a 2 min walk from the main areas and 5mins from the bus station if you fancy a trip elsewhere. If you are looking for a small, very friendly and peaceful hotel with lovely staff in an amazing location in beautiful Ciutadella this hotel will be for you. We would definitely go back."

"What a great little place I was so impressed from the moment I entered the door, we were given a code to enter the door and get our room key which was all very simple and organised. The room was above and beyond my expectations with a fantastic bathroom and rain shower. There is a kitchen area upstairs where you can make yourself something to eat and a lovely roof terrace with great views over the rooftops down to the harbour and only a few minutes walk down to gorgeous Cala fonts. Last but not least I need to mention the owner Jody she was such a great help with everything and even organised a taxi to take us back to the airport. Thank you for such a great few days we will definitely be back. "

"Apartments supposedly with 4 keys. Or at least, that's how you pay the tourist tax, like LUXURY apartments. Nothing could be further from the truth. Mold and rust everywhere inside the apartment, many elements with great wear, the pool with the joints full of algae, one of the days they gave us a DIRTY towel. The staff is friendly, although they should train them in languages ​​or they waste/waste time when checking in foreigners because they don't understand each other… incredible that a receptionist at a hotel in Menorca doesn't even know basic English. The category should be adjusted to what it really is. I would not go back."

"A lovely modern hotel with very good facilities, perhaps especially well suited to couples. The hotel was so welcoming from the moment we arrived - rather late- to be warmly welcomed by the lovely receptionist, who was part of a great team - always helpful. The room was spacious, with a balcony (some overlook the pool, which are great in May - the other side might be better when it is hotter later in the season?). There's a big comfortable bed, an in room safe, and tea and coffee making facilities - and a fridge. We found several English TV channels if needed. It was kept sparklingly clean. The outside pool was lovely - though apparently, we were brave going in (it wasn't cold! Some people found it cool apparently...). The spa is lovely, and usually easy to book the day before - it often booked up in the later afternoon. The pool was great, and there was a sauna and steam room. The staff were lovely. You could have various treatments too. We enjoyed the food (one of us is veggie), and there was lots of choice at both breakfast and dinner on our half board package (lots of people were on half board). Lots of fruit, veg and salad, as well as a wide choice of mains, starters and desserts. Drinks were not included, but were very reasonable - cocktails comparable to the UK, other drinks slightly cheaper. A very pleasant chilled cava was always on offer, and went well with the food. The pool bar also served drinks, snacks and tea and coffee during the day. We'd researched it beforehand, but the location might be an issue for some people. We loved it - it's in a fairly residential, quiet area, on a small bay, and walking distance to two others (Cala Blanca and Sa Caleta). There were good local buses, very reasonable (we did make a mistake once and overshot our stop!!), and we did hire a car for a few days to see some more remote parts of the island. The hotel helped with this, too. Ciutadella was walkable if you are moderately fit, or a short taxi or bus journey away. Finally, I can't speak highly enough of the staff. Everyone was so professional and friendly - the reception team, the bar staff, all of the waiting staff in the restaurant, the spa staff, and all of the very many cleaners were a delight - and everyone was so patient with our stumbling language skills. A big thank you for making our holiday so relaxing and enjoyable."

A formal complaint to the hotel's manager was not answered at all and upon check-out she totally ignored us. I am not sure it was worth the 7K in total expenses. After Torrelbenc, we went to Mallorca and finally came back to Menorca at Gran Faustino Hotel in Ciutadella. Definitely, the latter has a much better service level."

"Loar has three kinds of accommodation - hotel/suites in one building and apartments and studios is the adjoining building. The buildings are seamless on he ground floor but separate lifts service the two buildings. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which has a balcony big enough for two chairs so great for looking at the comings and goings of locals and their families and what was going on in the square. The 12 apartments have outward facing balconies whereas the studios face the rear. I think it is worth the extra cost to have an apartment as we spent a fair amount of time just enjoying the atmosphere of the town. I don't know about the hotel rooms as we much prefer the space of an apartment and the flexibility to cook our own meals and snacks. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The highlight was the roof terrace with views, loungers, lovely pool and jacuzzi. There is also an indoor heated pool which was a bit awkward to access as unless the restaurant was open the only way in was via a spiral fire escape. Being able to choose which pool you fancied was a real treat and we mostly had the roof terrace to ourselves. The town itself had no real must-sees for tourists but it was a convenient base to explore the island. Although Loar does not offer parking we always found a space within a few minutes' walk. There are enough places to eat and drink with three decent sized supermarkets, a butcher and fishmonger if you wanted to cook. The apartment facilities made this easy. It is quite surprising to have such a large establishment in an inland town but it seemed quite busy and the bar & restaurant were popular. I certainly recommend Loar and Ferreries. Staying in a central town worked well for us. Don't hesitate to stop at a cheese producer, signposted everywhere. Mahon cheese is excellent."

This visit we were in the second site up the street - this has its own courtyard pool and reception, but you walk down the street to breakfast. I think we preferred staying in the main hotel building, but there’s not much in it. Pools are small, but this is very much a couples retreat - we wouldn’t bring children here. There’s no car park, but we found it very easy to park in free car parks close by. Spa is lovely, gym is tiny!"

"Really like this hotel! The room was spotlessly clean. Huge comfortable bed and pillows. Quality towels and bedding changed regularly. Small fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and useful toiletries. WiFi and much needed air-con included in price. Our room was overlooking the pool and above the bar. The music from the bar didn't bother us as we were usually in the bar most nights until the music ended. Lovely pool and lots of sunloungers. Need to watch out for the doves if under a tree! The breakfast was the best I've ever had in a hotel with an amazing choice. Also a good and varied choice for the evening meals. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. There's several supermarkets and restaurants close by. A short walk to the small sandy beach and a bus stop close to the hotel. Information for the bus service at reception. Cala Blanca is a small, quiet resort. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are wanting a relaxed holiday but not the resort if you're wanting a bit more nightlife."

"Stayed at hotel Patricia with friends ( 4 of us) for 3 nights. The location of the hotel is very good with everything within 5 /10 minutes walk. Cituadella is a lovely city with a buzzing yet relaxed atmosphere. Our room was of a decent size equipped with a fridge, mini bar ( if you wanted it) and complimentary toiletries. We had a walk in shower which was excellent and very clean and hot. The hotel has a small outdoor pool on the lower level with a few sun beds and a few tables and chairs plus a small but well equipped gym and a pool table. The hotel is bed and breakfast only and breakfast although not vast, was of good quality and tended to be more on the continental side, meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, limited cereals although there is a small choice of cooked items eggs, bacon etc. The hotel is spotlessly clean everywhere. Rooms and common areas reception etc all gleaming which I really liked. Staff from reception to house keeping are all helpful polite and welcoming. I think the only negative thing I could say ( if I had to) is that the hotel doesn’t have a bar. That being said there are plenty of lovely little bars within 2 or 3 mins walk so not really a problem. It would have been nice just to have a drink at the hotel before going out to a restaurant for dinner but that’s just personal choice. Would we stay again? Absolutely👍and probably will at some point. Thank you all at hotel Patricia."

"We had a stay between the 20th and 25th September (5 nights) with the All Inclusive option. On the 2nd night there was moderate rain with thunder, and a reasonable amount of water appeared inside the apartment (kitchen area) which flooded part of the kitchen and living room (right above the electrical panel). We tried calling reception several times and no one answered, so we had to go to reception in person, in the rain. At reception, they said that they were unable to resolve the problem, they had no free rooms and that we were not the only ones in the same situation. They gave us some towels to contain the flood, ourselves. After our complaint, this matter was never addressed by them again and there were no justification. We were never able to access a pool towel, and on the first day we were told that they could have them the next morning but that there were very few, this is not acceptable for a 4star hotel. The All Inclusive concept in this hotel is more realistic as Full Board + Drink. There is only 1 employee for bar service + table service + cleaning the area itself. The All Inclusive information they gave us on the reception was different from what is displayed in the bar and what is currently practiced. On the last day, a bar employee (the first time we were served by her) tells us that we can order any meal to take away, if we are not staying at the hotel (information that was never given to us at reception, even though we had asked which includes All Inclusive). For us, not a 4 * hotel."
