"Fantastic stay, from the moment we arrived everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The room was as advertised very spacious, clean and included everything we needed. The surrounding pools and seated areas were relaxing and really added to the time at the hotel. The daily cleaning was done quickly and to high standard, left some lovely towel art that didn’t go unnoticed. Would absoloutly stay again one of my best hotel stays ever."

"Hotel is outdated, but the worst thing is the noise. It is surrounded by loud streets and if you hope to evade the noise by having a room oriented to the courtyard, you are damn wrong. They have terribly loud installation of aggregates for their air conditioning. And they have built it so stupidly that the noise is going against the wall and thrown back inside the complete courtyard. Even we closed windows it always sounds as if you would have a vacuum cleaner next to your bed. And the really worst thing is that I had asked about the quiet room upfront I had made it even before Booking very clear that I am a shallow sleeper and that I only want to come if they have a quiet room. And they told me that I should’ve just booked a suite with internal view and I would be fine. Of course I was not. So it’s one thing to have a hell of noise and do not use technical possibilities to not spill all your courtyard with the noise of your air-conditioning. But it’s another thing to lie about it. At least in the bathrooms at Reception level I did observe roaches. As it is a very urban environment, this is avoidable with proper care and cleanliness. In addition, I had called them informing them about the flight cancellation and asked for a change of my reservation which day at first said they would gladly do. And when I came there, they said it needs to be done via a trip. And went ripped did send them a respective request they did just decline it. So dishonesty is written big in this hotel. I suggest to definitely avoid it."

"The room was spacious and clean! Check-in was also convenient, but the downside was that the hotel didn't provide toothpaste; you had to buy it yourself. I stayed in a double room with breakfast included, but it turned out that breakfast required an additional 320 pesos for hot cooked meats!"

"This is a most wonderful boutique hotel in Merida. It is housed in a very tastefully decorated traditional house, each room being individually designed. The staff is very friendly and helpful and speaks english well, so communication is no problem. We had a quiet and spacious room, very comfortable beds and a great bathroom. The breakfast space is beautiful and also nicely decorated. Breakfast is good and they offer also a small menu for diner. When we asked for a different meal as the ones on the menu they didn’t make a problem out of that and prepared exactly what we wanted. Fantastic ! The hotel also has an interior garden and a (small) swimming pool. We really couldn’t find any negatives ! To be highly recommended !"

"A good hotel in the heart of Mérida. The room was quiet, too. The service was excellent. The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were plentiful. They offer free hot coffee in the lobby every morning. The WiFi worked great! There was an in-room safe. There was no hairdryer in the room, but that seems to be a feature of all local hotels. There's a local restaurant across the street. But it's better to walk to the Mercado and eat delicious local food there. We had a great time."

"Firstly, this is a cute property with some nice design and is in a good location. However it’s totally overpriced and lacking in service or experience. Overall, the staff weren’t welcoming and wifi is sporadic. Absolutely no reference or benefit to being Bonvoy Platinum status. It was a special event so I decided to splurge for a suite which was a total waste of money. The room was tired (I understand it’s a heritage building but not an excuse for not updating or maintaining it) and hadn’t even been swept before our arrival. Most frustratingly, I’d booked on the basis of the private terrace. But it’s not at all private. The terrace is a shared space with another room, with some planters to divide which do not create any privacy. Moreover, there is a door/window from the public hallway on to the terrace so anyone walking by can look in on you. Given usage of the terrace was a big part of my interest in the suite, it was completely useless. I mentioned this on arrival and the staff were uninterested - a simple curtain could have been a massive help. I brought it up again when leaving and the guy “said I should have mentioned earlier” - which I had… The ‘included breakfast’ is quite good quality but it’s limited - lots of extras or not included. Probably fine for most cases but having spent so much money on the room I didn’t expect to be charged for an extra coffee or some fruit… Overall, a cute hotel that would be good in the moderate price range (I didn’t see a basic room) but when you pay high luxury prices one expects a lot more…"

The pool is small and is more of a plunge pool. We were not so impressed with the location of the hotel. "It is rare to find such accommodating lodging as we experienced in 5 nights at this family owned and managed hotel. Chucho, a jack-of-all-trades, manned the front desk, cooked and served a delicious and authentic breakfast, and gave us grandes abrazos (big hugs) at our departure. The owner, Rosia, was gracious and conscientious. Both spoke excellent english and appreciated our attempts at spanish. Five star ambience, cleanliness, decor and service. Very reasonably priced.
