"Hotel is fairly new. 10 minutes walking to old town where are all the historical sites and restaurant located. The restaurant next door offer very good food, if you do not want to walk to old town. You can choose your pillow which is pretty good. Bed is firm. The on5 complain I have is there is no electric pot for boiling water. The water from the coffee maker smell coffee, so not a good replacement."

"We stayed here as a family of 4 during mid April for one night. Firstly, great location close to all the amenities. Secondly, for the price, it ticked all the boxes. The room was large enough for us and our luggage. Yes, its very dated and desperately needs to be dragged out of the 1960s into the 21st century, but it was clean and confortable and suited our budget. The owner was helpful and kind, and the breakfast was adequate and plentuful. So if you can look past the retro vibe, we would recommend this quaint little hotel for a decent stay in Modena. Oh, and check out the restaurant downstairs for dinner. It was very good!!"

"There was a power cut at night whilst we were planning our itinerary for the next day. Lights, electricity and Internet stopped working and therefore we went to sleep hoping it will work the next morning. To our surprise nothing was working the next morning - we asked the cleaner nearby to help and she tried playing with the switches and since it still didn’t work she suggested calling reception. We tried calling but that didn’t work either. We had to use the bathroom in the dark, and then went down to the reception with our phones for charging. The lady at the reception said she will send someone in the room to check for lights, and asked me to take the charging back to my room. I asked whether I can leave it there for charging and she said I can bring it back if it doesn’t work in the room. I told her the Internet wasn’t working either and she told me that Internet is working everywhere in the hotel. Then I told her that she can come with me to see it for herself if she doesn’t believe me - she went away somewhere so I headed back to my room and then she later came to our room. The issue with the lights was fixed however they weren’t able to resolve the WiFi issue. Therefore we went back down to charge our phones and use Internet to plan our itinerary. It was frustrating that we didn’t have the basic service of electricity and internet we paid for. The manager wasn’t particularly understanding and put the onus on us."

"The hotel has undergone a partial renovation. The hall is in fact modern and functional, the rooms still need to be modernised. They still have carpet even in the corridors and are a little dated. The management is young and to amortize the costs they are slowly renovating the entire structure. The rooms are quiet, clean, a little small but functional. Opposite is the hospital but it has never caused us problems with noise or sirens or anything else. It has about ten parking spaces and others are available nearby for free. The center is a good 15 minutes away on foot, but I must say that the prices are lower than other more central structures. Breakfast needs improvement, definitely not memorable. Advised."

A safe is also available. All access points are very convenient, and were explained perfectly via email. Highly recommended. "Great location, easy walk to most anywhere in Modena city center. We stayed 6 nights. Relatively quiet, good breakfast with lovely staff. Had an unfortunate situation where money was stolen while we popped down to the bar for a drink after a long day. Had to ask where the laundry we had sent out was and they said the lady would be bringing it up right away. I had left my bag on the bed. When I came back, laundry was on the bed, and when I realized I had left my bag there I immediately unzipped it to find my wallet was left un-zipped and about €150 missing. She didn’t take it all, and she forgot to zip up the wallet. When I reported it to main desk they said they called her and of course she denied it. The assured me the manager would speak to me when he returned on Monday( this happened on a Saturday) Never happened. I had to just let it go. I NEVER leave anything out, and we left the room just to go down for a drink. I hope she put the $$ to good use, like maybe if she had children to care for. Otherwise this was a good stay."

"When I first entered the room, I thought everything was fine. When I wanted to turn down the heating for sleep (room was at 26C), it wasn't possible, as this can apparently only be done by the receptionist, which in itself is questionable - but to make it really bad, there is nobody at the reception between 11pm and 7am. So I opened the window but then some insects came inside and as soon as I closed it again, the temperature went back up. Could not sleep all night. Then additionally found some hairs and sticky spots in the bathroom. According to the receptionist I spoke to in the morning (all staff were very friendly, but not available when I needed them), AC is not available until April 20th, but they don't bother to remove this from the amenities, even though they know it won't be available - false advertising. Breakfast was advertised as "better than a brunch" but is at best a mediocre breakfast, at least for continental standards - again false advertising. Pre bought stuff mostly and the only freshly prepared scrambled eggs were dried at the edges with some almost liquid parts in the middle, came with barely warm sausages. What kind of brunch this is supposed to beat, no idea. The location itself and the rest is ok, but not being able to sleep ruined my last day in Italy. Every other hotel on my trip had working AC, even the budget 30€/night hotels. To be fair, the staff was friendly and helpful, the bed was decent and there was a nice large balcony."

The hotel is located in a decentralized area of the city, in front of the hospital, but this should not discourage you, because in a few minutes by bus or car you can quickly reach the center. The staff is always very kind and helpful, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is basic. The breakfast is also good and can be had in the bar below. Recommended especially for short stays and passing trips."
