"I left my luggage at the hotel front desk for two hours, and then went to the airport for a flight back home in the evening. When I returned home and opened my suitcase, I found that the Burberry card holder I bought the night before had been stolen. Because the card holder was still there when I packed my luggage, and the suitcase had only been left at the front desk for two hours, I was very sure that it was stolen by the hotel staff. After reporting it to Ctrip and contacting the hotel, it was fruitless. To be honest, the distance was so far, and I didn't expect to find it back, but as a star hotel, such a thing actually happened, I was very speechless. This is my first time to comment on a hotel as a Ctrip member, and I must let everyone know the real situation. I hope that when Ctrip recommends hotels, the safety of foreign hotels should at least be put first."

"This hotel has serious security issues. Around 11 PM, a stranger tried to force their way into my room. They claimed they thought it was the elevator and were lost, but they had just seen me exit my room before attempting to push open my door and enter. This is obviously outrageous. The hotel staff only briefly questioned the stranger about their room number. The security at this hotel is a major concern."

"Good points: The hotel rooms were very clean and well-equipped. The bed was so comfortable it almost felt too good for one person. Unless you're expecting something extremely luxurious, I don't think you'll have any complaints about the rooms. Bad points: The location is very far from the station. There's a bus stop nearby, but it's a bit of a walk. There's no reception desk, which makes it a little difficult to enter the rooms, and it's also difficult to leave luggage."

The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure,temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times."

"Completely unacceptable treatment of guests This was an absolutely unacceptable experience. We arrived at the hotel on 6 August at 8:01 pm with our 11-year-old child and our luggage. The room had been fully paid for almost six months in advance. Only when we were already on our way did we receive a notification — just one hour before our arrival — that the hotel had cancelled our booking. The most shocking part is that our money had still not been refunded. So the hotel cancelled a fully paid reservation at the very last minute, left us without accommodation in the evening, kept our money, and did not even offer a proper apology. We were travelling with a child, exhausted after the journey, with suitcases, and suddenly had to urgently search for another place to stay late in the evening. This caused us considerable stress, inconvenience and additional expense. A hotel should not be allowed to treat guests this way. Cancelling a reservation at the last minute after holding the guest's money for months is completely unacceptable. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. If a hotel cannot honour a confirmed and prepaid reservation, it should take responsibility for the consequences and provide an appropriate alternative — not leave a family with a child to deal with the situation themselves. We are now seeking a full refund and compensation for the additional costs and serious inconvenience caused by the hotel's cancellation."

"The hotel is on a bus route do is easy to get to from the train station and the centre of Oxford. The rooms are very small but you have all you need, a clean bed, a very comfortable mattress, WiFi, TV and bath towels. The got water to our shower was extremely hot and we couldn't make it cooler, but the receptionist will look into that. The room was very clean apart from where one of the beds touches the wall, there is a lot of dust on the floor under there. But the bathroom was very clean."

"On the plus side, location and parking are very good. Unfortunately, having stayed there during the current hot summer, I was extremely surprised to find that the air conditioning only seemed to work in the common areas, like reception, but not in any of the bedrooms. It was built into the rooms and there was a control panel, but absolutely no power. To make matters worse, at 7am on the morning of our departure, the fire alarm went off. Naturally, we left our room and went outside. At no stage did we see any member of staff. I have, unfortunately, been present at another hotel when the alarm was triggered. Staff went around the hotel to make sure everyone was out and then took a roll call by room. In the case of the Leonardo Royal, there was nothing, not even an explanation. If they was a scheduled fire drill, the management and staff at this hotel really need to get their act together."

"The hotel is right in the centre of the city and only a short walk to the shops and restaurants. We were able to park at the hotel as we had phoned ahead and had a blue badge. You leave the keys with the hotel so they can move the cars around as everything is blocked in. If your car is large you’ll struggle to enter as the entrance is through an archway in the wall. Nice breakfast and facilities and a lovely room. It was really hot when we were there and either there was no air conditioning or it wasn’t working. There were fans in the room. We were fine and didn’t need the fan as our room was at the back of the building and down a floor which meant it was protected from the heat. I think others staying didn’t have quite the same experience. It was an extremely hot month! Staff were really help and nice too."
