"Stayed at Jawa Aaramgah Resort expecting a luxury and secure experience, but what happened was honestly shocking. The resort had sent us an anniversary cake, which we saved for the morning. After returning from breakfast before checkout, we found it cut and half eaten inside our private villa. This clearly means someone entered our room without permission. What’s even more concerning is that we had our personal belongings and cash in our bags. Thankfully nothing was missing—but the real question is, what if it was? Is this the level of privacy and security being offered at a so-called luxury property? This is not just negligence, it’s a complete breach of trust and guest safety. It left us feeling uncomfortable and violated, and completely ruined what was meant to be a special celebration. Strongly disappointed. Would not recommend if you value your privacy or belongings."

"RAAS Chhatrasagar is a wonderful little gem of a resort - beautiful lake setting, superb birdwatching and also some nilgai and antelopes. The tents are really luxury rooms right on the lake. The service is fantastic, the food is great and the atmosphere is very serene. The highlight is the naturalist led walks and boat rides to spot birds and wildlife. Our naturalist, Ali, has a PhD in ornithology and was fantastic - very knowledgeable, able to spot birds from a great distance and help educate us about them. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this resort!"

"I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ghanerao Royal Castle, Ranakpur with my Husband and our 4 years old Daughter and it was truly an unforgettable experience that blended history, comfort, and genuine Rajasthani hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were transported into a bygone era of royal splendour. Established in the year 1606, this Royal Castle is an ancestral home lovingly shared with guests, stands beautifully preserved with its traditional marble and sandstone architecture that speaks of centuries past. The castle has beautiful rooms & Heritage corners which reflects the glorious past. Our room was charming, comfortably furnished, and adorned with heirlooms that gave an authentic feel of old Rajasthan. Each room is unique, and ours had a cozy veranda that became our favourite spot for morning tea together, enjoying the peaceful courtyard views. The castle’s atmosphere is serene and calm — a perfect retreat from the bustle of city life. We appreciated the thoughtful layout of courtyards, terraces and temples on the property, where daily prayers create a tranquil ambiance. Dining here was an absolute delight. The meals featured traditional Rajasthani recipes with fresh, locally sourced ingredients — simple yet delicious. Our daughter particularly enjoyed the breakfast spread, it was so delicious. What made our stay even more memorable was the warm and attentive staff. Their courteous service and readiness to help with everything — whether local travel tips or making extra arrangements for our daughter — truly enhanced our visit. The property also features a refreshing swimming pool and beautifully laid-out lounges, which provided us relaxed family time under the open Rajasthani sky. In all, Ghanerao Royal Castle offered us a magical blend of regal heritage and heartfelt hospitality. Whether you’re seeking a cultural escape, a romantic getaway, or a peaceful family retreat, this heritage castle is an ideal choice that makes you feel like part of the royal legacy of Rajasthan."

"Gurha Safari camp, at Jawai was great, and there are lovely stone built bungalows now. We went on safari at around 4 - Our driver was great, and the jeeps are awesome! He took us to some fantastically beautiful places, and we kept ourselves to ourselves. But when we were in pursuit of Leopards, there were throngs of other jeeps zooming around the park with families packed into them, chasing each other around, BUT we saw two leopards from a distance at dusk - not the best imaginable sighting, but unforgettable just the same – and the stay at the Camp was most enjoyable, and well hosted. The village walk the following morning was a particular highlight too."

"The worst experience related to safety and security of 2 female passengers — and above all, the hotel staff doesn’t care at all. We are two female travellers who stayed at this hotel and paid a premium — over INR 57,000 for the 2 night stay including INR 8,000 for a private transfer to Udaipur arranged by the hotel. What happened during that transfer was completely unacceptable. The driver drove rashly on narrow roads and through the ghats, was on his phone while driving, and ignored our repeated requests to slow down. About 20 minutes into the journey, he stopped and picked up an unknown male (seemingly his personal acquaintance) without asking or informing us. This stranger sat in the front seat for the entire drive to Udaipur. As two women, we felt genuinely unsafe and could not raise it inside the vehicle. During the drive, they stopped the car multiple times for their own personal errands. The unauthorised passenger was chewing tobacco, spitting outside each time he got off, playing loud music, and talking non-stop with the driver in a language we could not understand. It felt like our paid, premium transfer had been hijacked for their personal use, with a stranger forced on us throughout. We raised all of this in writing with the hotel. They responded once, said they would investigate and re-train staff, but did not address compensation at all. When we followed up specifically asking about compensation, we received no response. Complete silence. For a hotel at this price point, and for something this serious involving the safety of two female guests, this response is unacceptable. The lack of care from the staff has been as disappointing as the incident itself."

"Another spectacular hotel on the RAAS hopper route. More of a retreat, a very luxurious retreat, than a hotel. Canopied rooms on edge of lake. Completely silent except for birds. Bougainvillea abounds. Peacocks, roosters, basking turtles, the odd antelope all within the grounds. Fantastic stargazing sessions with the super knowledgeable Rakish. Ask Mohammed, super knowledgeable ornithologist and naturalist to take you out in the jeep or on the lake or into the village completely devoid of tourists. Try the Chhat with cornflakes and yoghurt as a side dish. Amazing Kundalini massage from a wonderful strong yet tiny masseuse (and I’ve been to a ton of hotel spas). Great place atop a hill for surveying sunset, delicious Indian amuses-gueles and cocktails, Service impeccable. Yoga and meditation offered. And yes, they have oat milk. Truly gutted we have to leave"
