"The night staying with Jesus and Mari was more than I expected. The room and the bathroom are literally brand new, very clean, comfortable and relaxing. I slept well and warm at night. They're expanding their island, so it makes my stay more unique by witnessing the process. A real experience! I spent a lot of time just taking a sunbath, naps, and reading the book which they provided in the room - it was about Taquile island, very interesting and informative! Jesus also took me on a Uros tour. We even went collecting the **** Totora! He shared a lot of knowledge about their culture and lifestyle. Besides Uros, he also knows a lot about Taquile. Mari instead showed me her beautiful artwork, which we're able to bring back if we want 🧡 And the lunch she cooked, uuuuf, delicious and abundant! With a lot of veggies and fresh trucha. I couldn't even finish it. And I highly recommend the location, it's on the edge of the Uros community, so tourists don't see us, and we're not bothered. I enjoyed the whole view of the lake and the night scene of Puno by myself. Bring your camera if you love photography. The sunset and the Milky way are charming. Btw, Jesus will take us from the port Kalapajra to the island. From the center, the red minibus only costs 1 sole. He replied WhatsApp quite promptly. The check-in/checkout was also flexible. Really appreciate it. I would love to stay 2-3 more days on Kontiki if the time allows! Felt it's much worth than just a day tour."

"Hotel Ripping Off Meal Charges; On the day of my stay, after checking in, I was about to go out for dinner when the front desk staff strongly recommended the Horel restaurant. I looked at the menu and had a meal there worth 120 soles. (Two Lomo dishes costing 50 soles, the most expensive item on the menu, and two bottles of the cheapest beer costing 10 soles.) When I went to pay after the meal, they kept asking for my room number, so I gave it to them. The next morning, when I checked out and went to pay, they demanded 409 soles. When I asked why the bill was so high since I ate at the restaurant and not room service, they explained that even though I ate at the restaurant, it counts as room service, and because it was dinner time, an additional charge of over 33 soles was added. I was dumbfounded and couldn't understand it, so I felt very upset."

"There aren't many good hotel options in Puno. This hotel is so so so dirty. We changed 3 rooms, and the sheets and quilts were all dirty. We had to sleep in our clothes. The most terrible thing was that the bed in room 327 was broken, and the bath towels were all black. Room 329 was even more terrible, with sheets and quilts all black and dirty. Room 338 was a family room with 3 beds, but the room did not have a lake view and there was noise in the room! It’s up to you how each person chooses! Anyway, I just want it to be clean and quiet"

"Seriously evaluate without exaggeration or criticism 1. I booked a mountain view king-size bed room on Ctrip, but was given a twin bed room. After unsuccessful communication, I contacted Ctrip, and Ctrip said that the hotel received a twin bed package, and Ctrip made up the difference 2. The hotel facilities are not complete, and there is not even toilet paper, only thin toilet paper rolls. The overall facilities were not taken much, and the second picture will be taken for reference 3. Cleaning is not done every day, and water will only be provided if you ask them 4. There was renovation during the stay, and drilling was crazy during the lunch break 5. The hotel is close to Lake Titicaca, and the scenery is amazing 6. The service is also OK, but the infrastructure is really not good"

My husband asked the hotel staff to organize a surprise birthday cake but the team (Julio, Miriam and Oscar) went above and beyond! We are not usually the type of people to write reviews, but we didn’t really know what to expect at first, (we were antayon Int the hotel) and it turned out to be a great experience! The starters are very generous, they could almost be a main course on their own! The main dishes were also very good, with a nice mix of typical Peruvian food and international options. A special mention to Juan, who was very attentive, friendly and made the experience even better. Definitely don’t hesitate to give this place a try, we really enjoyed it!"
