"A very satisfying experience. After checking into our room, the staff proactively knocked on our door to ask if we were satisfied with the room. After learning we'd like more space, they showed us a larger room and even upgraded us from a queen-size to a king-size room—free of charge! 🤭 A special thanks to Muizz for their help."

Driftwood Inn ★★

📍 5454 Trail Ave, Sechelt

"My wife and I stayed here 4 nights while on vacation. Front office staff were very nice & friendly. Sechelt tourist office is a block away. This place used to be the Driftwood Inn and got completely renovated (including the adjacent Fred’s restaurant) 1.5 yrs ago. They have 28 rooms, 5 waterfront, on 2 floors. Sechelt is a nice town in a beautiful area. Some of the rooms on the 2nd floor have a view of the water, but we stayed on the 1st floor with no view. Nice waterfront walking paved path steps away with some trees & benches. The price seemed reasonable, the room OK, not great, TV channels mediocre at best. Lots of very nice wooded parks with walking paths nearby. The nearby Lighthouse Pub & Grasshopper Pubs are very nice. We took a very nice 90 minute boat tour, Pender Harbour Tours, a short drive from Sechelt."

The Spot at Porpoise Bay ★★★
"It's a 20-minute drive from the boat, close to a shopping area, and a few minutes' drive to a large beach. There are many bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel is clean and well-furnished, and has barbecue facilities for large groups."

Driftwood Inn ★★
"The location is as good as it gets. Right on the beach, with a lovely area for walks. Also, close to the centre of town. The rooms are worn and dirty. The fridge very noisy. Walls thin enough to listen to the neighbours talking. The room had a strong odour of many previous guests. On the plus side the rate was very reasonable at $109. per night. The new lady at the front desk was courteous."

The Tuwanek Hotel and Spa ★★★★
"My daughter and I wanted a short escape to the Sunshine Coast. We were delighted with our stay at the Tuwanek hotel. This hotel has themed rooms. We had the Sunset room downstairs. This offered us access to a sitting room across the hall which had coffee machine, kettle, pool table, large screen TV and wet bar. Popcorn and popcorn maker were also available. Our room had a microwave and extra dishes in the kitchenette area. We loved our view out over the water. All rooms have ocean view and private outside seating. The host is very helpful and showed us around the the property. There are canoes available which due to the weather we did not use. The property and location are beautiful and we wished we could have stayed longer. There is a delightful little beach across the way and another beach a few minutes away. Hidden Groves about 2 km away has a delightful myriad of walking trails. Porpoise Bay Provincial Park is close by and has a lovely sandy beach. The area has much to offer. Take a day to drive north along Hwy101 to Egmont. Stop at Halfmoon Bay, the historic General Store has excellent coffee From Egmont do the hike to the Skoocumchuck Rapids. Its an easy 8-9 km forest walk. Check the tide tables for times of maximum current. A large tide change makes for some impressive viewing of the rapids. Spend some time browsing through the shops in Gibsons. You'll likely find something you want to take home."
