Upon arrival at the reception we had problems with the prepayment; It was not possible to pay the price without the prepayment already provided, after about 30 minutes it was possible in cash, not the preferred card payment; the employee justified this with a new computer system. The room was not air conditioned upon arrival and was quite warm; the shower does not drain normally and quickly fills up to the brim; The beds are a kind of box spring bed: for me (about 85 kg) the mattress was not comfortable. There was only few toilet paper upon arrival, so I called the reception after it was finished, but after about an hour nothing was delivered - not to be expected for a 4 star hotel! The bathroom fan is a bit noisier than I expected and should usually auto stop after a while (although it was connected to the lamp, it usually happens). The thick curtains easily detach from the suspension when closing, and the small room fridge is much too loud (noticeable at night). When exactly is breakfast should be in the folder (I didn't see it at first glance) I liked the breakfast, the orange juice could be freshly squeezed, there should be milk (and lactose free) next to the muesli, and there should also be gluten free bread, but overall good quality of the products; we didn't try the restaurant for dinner due to the high prices. fitness room: Directly the first machine on the left (for legs) doesn't work and it hasn't changed during the week's stay, although we complained, the note with this information had fallen under the bench, so not visible; but otherwise the hall is in good condition The pool is small and during the stay they closed it, it was soon announced that the pool heating would be repaired: heating at 35 degrees outside air temperature? Incomprehensible! I tried to speak to the manager but he didn't seem interested. After we asked for a discount because the pool wasn't working, at least they took away the note the next day. All in all, this hotel did not overwhelm us and we will not visit it again: high standards and beautiful pictures, but unfortunately no coverage in reality.

Each meal was flawlessly prepared and delivered promptly, further enhancing the overall experience. Grand Hotel Sofia provided an outstanding stay with a dedicated staff, remarkable room decor, and exceptional room service. I highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable experience in Sofia.

Located centrally in a main street of Sofia this hotel was perfectly positioned for all our needs. Lively for restaurants and bars. The hotel itself was unique in many ways, rooms being different and the amenities really good (a kettle and tissues would have been also nice). Clean and very attentive staff and any questions answered promptly and helpfully. I took a point off for the breakfast, although there were 4 options all were fixed with no inter exchange allowed and we were limited to one hot drink per person as was the juice. The quality of the breakfast was good but I think it a little mean to limit you to one drink hot and cold. Minor detail but sometimes two cups or glasses would be nice. Overall a good hotel and I would stay there again if and when in Sofia.

The room is not too big but very comfortable. The service here is great and the location is perfect . I love the breakfast here , have lots of choice and the food are not bad. Just an small issue happen is that the manger mixed up our room since we have a big group of 12 people , I have upgraded my room but the manger had wrongly give this upgraded room to my friend without notice. But the manger have free out breakfast for apologies which I appreciated that and it’s a very service there.

L'Hotel si trova in ottima posizione, a soli 10 metri dalla fermata della Metro, consentendo agevoli spostamenti per tutta la Città. La nostra camera era spaziosa ed abbastanza pulita (abbiamo trovato una grossa ragnatela); ma soprattutto caldissima: in tutto l'albergo il riscaldamento è impostato a 26 gradi! Per fortuna i termosifoni sono regolabili, e si può risolvere il problema. La struttura non ha una propria sala colazione, e si appoggia al Cafè di fianco: considerando il prezzo richiesto per la colazione, e la misera scelta offerta ai clienti (si ha diritto ad una sola pietanza a testa, potendo spaziare tra, in tutto, 4 proposte salate e 4 dolci...) allora conviene rinunciare e decidere di iniziare la propria giornata altrove. Peccato perchè il Cafè in sè non è male.

Good location and lacking pedestrian walk passing

Missed the connection and had to book a hotel near the airport. This Ibis is fine for the night on a stopover but not much to do around. Still ended up going to town to eat and have a look around so would have been just as easy, and a bit cheaper, if I would have picked a city hotel. The room was two single beds and nothing much else included, reasonably clean but still expensive bearing in mind it is Bulgaria. Fine for late arrival and short stay if booked early.
