The Monterey Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

We recently stayed for a week at this hotel and had a wonderful time. We had a very comfortable Superior room which had a most welcome fridge given the hot weather. The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of choice of quality food, and we even chose to have some evening meals and drinks in the restaurant which were also very good. We found all of the staff to be extremely polite, friendly and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Although we didn't use the outdoor pool or the indoor leisure facilities they looked to be quite impressive. Overall we loved the hotel and we plan to visit again in the future. Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved my stay here, hotel staff are lovely and nothing is to much trouble they bend over backwards to make sure you are happy and comfortable. Excelent food both breakfast and evening meals which are 3 courses and menu different each night. Lovely indoor and out door pools. Definitely recommend staying here.

Excellent hotel in St. Helier! Highly recommend! We stayed 4 nights HB. Professional, friendly and helpful staff, that could not do enough for you, to make sure you had the best experience ever. Great room, comfy beds and a fan, if you needed one. The food was amazing. Great choice of continential and Full English style breakfast, along with fresh fruit and pastries. The 3-course dinner each evening was so tasty. Great variety of food and the service from waiting staff was second to none; staff are a great asset to Best Western (Thanks to them all). There is a Bus stop right outside the hotel, only 2 stops to town centre and 3 stops to the bus station (£2.35 on the bus, no matter how many stops you make. Rooms spotless and serviced daily. Faith on the Reception was so helpful assisting us with bus timetables and phoning taxi to the airport etc. Finally, it was my birthday and management/staff left a bottle of bubbly on ice in my room, with a note, wishing me a happy birthday... lovely touch. Will definitey be back! Tip= you can get a 3-day bus ticket or a one-day ticket for £9 that takes you all over the isle of Jersey, get off/on as many stops as you want; great value! We spent a few hours in St Aubins and had lunch in St Brelades on the same day, before heading back to St Helier for dinner).

We had a great holiday, enjoyed the hotel facilities, we were really impressed with Jonathan in breakfast dining room really amazing service with a smile, what a lovely Gentleman, we walked miles in this stunning island ,beautiful scenery, very clean streets gorgeous plants and flowers everywhere, Thanks for a lovely time, we have been before and will return

Stayed here for 6 nights with Ellen Smith Coach Tours. Check in was quick, easy and informative. Room was of a reasonable size on the first floor overlooking the outdoor pool. the bathroom was a little small and we found the WC very low it was like. a junior school toilet. Plenty of storage space, a good size TV, tea and coffee facilities. You had to book your evening meal time either in the morning at breakfast or you could do this for all week if you wished. Food in the restaurant was of good quality and always hot and well served: Breakfast was the usual, cereals, juices, yoghurts, fresh fruit, cold meats, croissants. toast. The hot plate consisted of bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, scramled egg and hash browns you could order eggs to be cooked for you from the kitchen and there was smoked salmon, tea & coffees was brought to your table, only complaint was the menu didn't change (fried bread would have been a nice alternative to the hash browns). Evening Meal: There was a table d h'ote menu which changed each evening the choice was varied and the quality of the dishes were excellent all served at the table. Bar: Prices were reasonable for a hotel the only complaint was there isn't enough seating as if the restaurant is busy they use tables in the bar. Lounge: very small one with three small settees. One of the other rooms which are obviously used for functions should be converted into a larger lounge area. It's nice to have somewhere quiet to sit if you don't want to sit in the bar. Spa area is clean and pleasant to use, NB you will need a £1 coin for the lockers. The staff are excellent can't do enough for you and absolutely are what makes this hotel tick. Location: Its about a 15 minute walk through the park to the town centre, local buses are available outside the hotel. All in all we would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel is in a very good location. Food was fantastic, both breakfast and dinner. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Minor inconvenience was a lack of low to medium dumbbell weights in the gym. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Monterey Hotel for a long weekend in Jersey. The hotel is well located and next to a bus stop. The leisure facilities are great with a choice of outside or indoor pools. Whilst the hotel seemed to be more for the “older” traveller, from the majority of the residents we saw, the service was top notch, great food with a new menu every day and a great bar to get a drink from. The rooms are a little dated but for the price and location this is a definite recommend. St Helier is a 10 - 15 minute walk depending on which bit of town you are visiting

Lovely hotel, superior room at poolside was excellent, staff friendly and efficient, excellent restaurant overall excellent. One small criticism - there is no where to put your soap/shampoo/shower gel within the shower area except on the shower tray - poor

I arrived at this hotel and I have to say that, initially, I was unimpressed. 1980s decor, not uncommon in Jersey, where it sometimes feels that you are living in an episode of Bergerac and peeling paint on the wardrobe. Also, uneven floors. However, I came to love this hotel for three reasons. Firstly, the staff are absolutely outstanding. Nothing was too much. Secondly, the bed was extremely comfortable. I often sleep badly in hotels, but this was superb, and I had a great nights sleep . Thirdly, the swimming pool has a deep end. Now unheard of in UK hotels. This forced me to swim. Breakfast was a bit indifferent, but that did not matter. I was actually on my way to stay with friends in Guernsey, and when my flight home from Jersey was cancelled, I was all ready to stay in the Monterey for another night.
