We stayed here for one night, having driven from Melbourne en route to the Silo Art Trail. Located (in common with much other Stawell accommodation) on the Western Highway, it suffers a little from the ongoing road noise, as trucks thunder between Adelaide and Melbourne. That said, check-in was quick and the room was reasonably spacious and well-equipped. The wi-fi was decent, and it was good to have a table and a couple of chairs outside, from which to enjoy the late afternoon sun. There was a barbeque and picnic seating for guest use, though we weren’t that ambitious. The price was fair and sleep - despite the efforts of the trucking industry - was OK. Double-glazing wouldn’t go amiss, mind you.

Out of all the Halls Gap hostels I've stayed at the YHA is officially my favourite. The place has a really good atmosphere and the owners are some of the nicest I've met whilst travelling - they were happy to share local knowledge and made my stay all the nicer. Location is great and the facilities were clean and well maintained - they are really committed to being eco friendly and covid safe. Also I booked via the YHA itself so the price for my private room was cheaper than what I saw on the booking sites. The only negative I can think of was the type of toilet roll holder they have in the mens' toilets. Will definitely stay here again!!!

Was surprisingly good for the price. Rooms are large and clean. Shower head is the huge rainfall one. Water was nice and hot Heated blanket on bed with an aircon unit in the room. Has a TV as well. Overall the staff were really nice and I’d rate this 4/5 for motels. Would recommend the ‘superior’ rooms. Loved this place overall

Last weekend we stayed at Grampians View Cottages and Units. The unit 3 that we were assigned was fabulous. It was spotlessly clean, sumptuous crisp bed in a separate bedroom, lounge area and table and chairs, handy kitchen and utensils, beautiful clean shower and a separate toilet. All appliances worked and on a cool night the heater was very efficient. We travelled to Halls Gap for a Birthday Function at the Hotel which was almost across the road. Perfect position. The facilities look abundant for a family holiday with a bar b q area and tennis court. Roaming kangaroos and loads of spacious lawned area would make this a delightful place to stay. The owners were pleasant and welcoming. I highly recommend this venue for your long or short stay in Halls Gap area.

The caveat is that there is a new owner that just took over one week prior so this is mostly for the previous owner, however the new owner didn't seemed to worried about my feed back and issues with his place. Price wise this accommodation was mid level. I stayed in their 1 bedroom cabin due to needing full kitchen facilities for my daughter and myself. It was quite an old build however the main reason i've rated it so low was that the cleanliness was nowhere close to where it should have been. The first cabin had a bad odour which smelt like a mouse had died. The new owner didn't care when i told him about it, i had to suggest changing cabins and luckily he had a spare cabin to move us into. The carpet desperately needed a good steam clean and for some reason there was an ant problem as well. In the evening with all the doors and windows shut, hundreds of little bugs still managed to get into the place. The oven was only half size but luckily just fit a small roast into it. The 2 cook top elements could only be used singularly due to being small. There is no phone signal there and their wifi was only good enough to browse very slowly with considering there were only about a quarter of the accommodations booked. There isn't anywhere it says that the wood heater has been boarded in but they do have a reverse cycle a/c instead. I would not book here again and take my chances else where.

A last minute romantic getaway!! Check in was easy and very professional. The reception area was scented with beautiful aromas which I can only think came from the plants they’ve used for a resort type feel which they’ve definitely achieved and made me feel like I’d arrived in paradise. Apon opening the door you are greeted by the on site security dog which made us feel immediately safe to stay here. The button to call staff who could be heard out the back watching tv was just brilliant to get their attention and customer service. I was assigned my room and when we asked for a nice room - boy did they not disappoint! The stunning artwork was complimented by the texturised feature wall completed by previous guests. Almost like a sign in book but with a personalised touch. Our room featured all the right facilities we needed. The ironing board really came in handy, we wouldn’t have thought to check the cupboard for an iron if it wasn’t for the nicely placed iron burn on the luxurious carpet. I was a little bit disappointed that the back windows didn’t have curtains but with everything else they had to offer, I didn’t think it was a big issue. We had a small problem with flat batteries in the remote which were promptly changed via staff immediately. The surprise increase of 50c upon check in for us to secure this deluxe room would explain the low occupancy hence flat batteries. This is also again evident with the spider webs coming from the elegant back drop lights. Again, not an issue as they provided us with fly and insect killer - which I assumed killed spiders too as it doesn’t state on the label. But we tried it and just to our luck it worked! These guys have truely thought of everything and every solution to unnecessary problems that could have be avoided by basic maintenance and general every day cleaning. Lucky for us we’ve been trying to build our immune system up and the black mould in the bottom of the shower was a fantastic addition to open up my airways for the perfect detox! The vintage 1960s split system was fantastic as we didn’t have to make use of the desk fan. The thunderstorm feature noises it makes is just so relaxing when your trying to sleep. It’s almost like sleeping in your own bed, on a rainy stormy night. The BBQ area is so nice for a family dinner night, under the beautiful solar lights. It even comes with free hand paper towel which I thought was very thoughtful of them and even though it’s stored on the ground where it remained our entire stay it isn’t issue as you can peel off the first layer before use and is very easy to find. If bbqs aren’t to your liking, don’t worry, motel Stawell has got you covered. The beautiful buffet with a selected assortments of gourmet Lipton teas, instant espresso sticks, sweetened sugar and a delicious variety of 2 assorted biscuits to choose from. I was a little dissatisfied to find only a small amount of complimentary milk as once we tried our first cup of a delicious gourmet

reception was very nice, we arrived at 10pm,he upgraded our room,because the new room can have good view to watch kangaroos,he said “the room is free now,hope we can enjoy in grampians” and the room also clean
