Everything was great, the lady who checked me in was very efficient. The only thing was there wasn't any coffee in the the room but thats ok. Parking isn't guarranteed, which could be a worry. You could check in, then go out on business then come back in the evening and not have a parking spot if the hotel was full, even though you pay up front in advance. That could be annoying at the end of a long day. But otherwise all was good and will stay again.

I stayed for 4 nights here, but I don’t get any bed making or cleaning the room, Only get new towel and change the bin bag, For Shampoo and Shower gel or tissue paper ,dish washer liquid, I need to ask from reservation desk by myself, i don’t know it’s normal here or the cleaning staff lady is very lazy or ignore it. I hear the siren sound all night, the soundproofing is poor. I suggest to use earplugs when you sleep, The good point of this hotel is location which is next to metro. And the reception staff is helpful.

Veriu Green Square Hotel for my three week stay was absolutely amazing. I was looked after so well by: Timo, Jo, Chelsea, Indre, Heidi and also the reception team, housekeeping team and the maintenance team. I appreciated the fun, fabulous and friendly atmosphere. The bedroom (Room 621) was wonderful, as were all the amenities (such as the laundry room on the first floor). Every single member of staff made me feel so welcome and special, especially with it being my first ever trip to Australia (from London). I would highly recommend this delightful hotel to my family, friends, networks and contacts. I have just booked another long stay for Sydney Mardi Gras 2024 and looking forward to it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Please keep up the superb work at the Veriu Green Square Hotel in Sydney.

Noisy, plain, and tired. Luxury? I've found more luxury in rural South Australia than here. Firstly my room was noisy - Really noisy - mainly from car noise from the Eastern Distributor which runs right in front of it. Clearly this is a known issue as they provide earplugs with a little apology (see pic). The fittings are old, the light switches, the bedside clock / radio. There is not a single USB charging port anywhere that I could find. There was a random cheap Bunnings power board hanging out underneath the bedside table. The shower head was loose and sprayed water everywhere while having a shower. I asked for it to be fixed, which it was by the time I returned, but do you think they replaced the saturated bath matt which I had to use to mop up the water? No, of course they didnt. Older people, be warned. The shampoo/conditioner provided have such fine writing that anyone needing more than +1 reading glasses need to find them to figure out which is which- ideally before stepping in the shower. And then need to find them again to figure out how to peel off the completely unnecessary silver seal ... The bed barley fitted between the wall and it was a squeeze to get in the LHS. No late night food nor drink options in or near the hotel. There are a few breakfast options. Probably my own fault for not checking that out.

Beautiful building, great location to Randwick racecourse. Rooms were clean and tidy. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Great communication leading up to stay as well. Undercover parking available but our car wouldn’t fit (too high) so they accommodated us by allowing us to park in the driveway. Easy to access after hours. Comfortable bed. No plug in the bathroom at all, take an extension cord with you if you plan on staying here and you use an electric shaver, there’s a mirror in the room that you can to use for hair straightener etc. Some rooms have private bathrooms for extra money so be sure to check before booking - we had a private bathroom. Clothes hanger was directly above the tea/coffee/kettle so hanging a dress and a suit was awkward if you plan on using tea/coffee area. Can hear other guests moving around during the night, especially as our room was next to the shared bathroom, hubby woke up the first night to someone throwing up! It gets very noisy during the night, walls are thin. Hot water in our bathroom took ages to warm up, a lot of wasted water. Tea and coffee provided but I’m not an instant coffee drinker so if Coffex instant coffee isn’t to your taste then byo. The exhaust fan in our bathroom wasn’t working so the tiny bathroom got steamy very quickly so had to open the window. The shower itself is super small as well. But all toiletries (shampoo conditioner and body wash) provided. If you are looking for somewhere to stay to go to the races then this place is very suitable. We walked which took 20 minutes at a casual pace but you could cross the road and jump on the light rail up to the next station if you didn’t want to walk.

The location of Mercure is very close to the Central Station, which is very suitable for families like us with elderly and children. The staff at reception is very nice and helpful. She suggested us to sign up as a member so we could park at a discounted rate of $45 a day (the original seems to be $49). We were charged $1 which seems to be a deposit when we registered Check-in there. There are swimming pool and fitness facilities on the 14th floor. During our stay, we called the reception for the services. The staff came to our room quickly to provide services. In addition, maybe we stayed during the Christmas period, there was a draw. Were were lucky to win the prize. My child was very happy to win a toy remote car, which added more joy. We had a good experience with our stay. The hotel staff we met there are very nice and helpfiul. If we go to Sydney again, we will consider Mercure again! 🙂🙂

The best part was when the fish tank maintenance man had a decent chat about the process of cleaning the fish tank that's under the floor in the foyer and taught our children about the fish. The breakfast buffet was a hit with everyone and we struggled to get the children out of the pool.

Clean hostel with friendly staff. Rooms were spacious with large lockers for each occupant and personal plugs and bed side lights in a great position. Showers/toilets on each floor and I never had to wait to use them. Downside is that you can hear the music from their basement club even on the 6th floor until late into the night. Didn’t bother me as I was only there a few nights and I managed to get enough sleep. Kitchen is WAY too small for amount of guests in the hostel. The social events put on by the hostel were a good way to meet people as a solo female traveller.

PPengguna TetamuI had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. Although an argument can be made about eclecticism and the use of curating a collection of exceptional vintage and contemporary objects this was not the case here, it read as a mismatched bric-à-brac (to borrow a Victorian word from the building time period that's true meaning in French means ”any old way” or ”at random”). Rreturn visitorI stay in this hotel whenever I need to visit Sydney. It is close to transport, an easy and inexpensive way to visit the CBD . Having a 24hour reception is handy as I quite often arrive after work and this can be very late/ early. The breakfast is also a bonus, ( a full hot breakfast) it has improved recently, there were problems post COVID but now it's back the previous excellent standard . The room are clean and large enough. The only downside is paying for parking, but we usually can find on street parking not too far away.
PPengguna Tetamu4 night stay for Vivid. Chose this as an Accor member and that it was close to the Harbour. Upgraded to a Prestige Suite, Club benefits and was not disappointed. Yes the building is not new, it’s not like the shiny new hotels in town, but it’s solid and my sleeps were uninterrupted and rarely heard noise from the hall. My Suite 930 was spacious, clean, well appointed, Sofitel Bed topper and electric sockets to plug in my adapters to charge. Like other reviews no USB ports but I’m sure most sensible travellers have an adapter. The Club Sofitel access was the perfect addition. Early check-in and waited with a hot tea while my suite was made up. It was 9:30am but the room was rushed and 30 minutes later I was unpacking. Evening canapés and drinks from 5:30pm. Table drink service by Alley and her dedicated, personable, attentive team. They remember your preferences pretty quickly and it became an oasis from Vivid hoping and sightseeing. My suite completely blocked out the light and slept through 2 alarms, it’s the Sofitel Bed topper. Breakfast at Club Sofitel, peaceful, plenty of options to choose from, salmon and capers to a great gluten free station, eggs cooked to order and a great way to start the day. Try the Dilmah Blood Orange and Eucalyptus tea. Thanks Lara. Afternoon Tea served from 2:30 and daily sandwiches , scones, cakes and complimentary drinks, tea, coffee and soft. On entering the Club Lounge, always a friendly greeting, your preferred drink served and a relaxing space anytime of the day. The Club team really made my stay, they work really hard to make your stay great. Housekeeping always made up my room before my afternoon return. Always a Bonjour as you walked past them in the hall. My stay was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The Lobby is grand and the history of this hotel makes her great. Not the newest but I prefer tradition and good honest service. Definitely not the style of hotel for everyone but my expectations were met and exceeded beyond imagination. Club Sofitel is a must. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
NNimingdianpingzhe1. The location is quite good. Close to everywhere!walk to Darling harbour, china town, market city, star ****** and even circular quay!
2.The speed of check-in is way much slow. Need patience to deal that period. And no any room service at night shift
3.建筑很有特点,充满年代感的外立面,还有内部裸露出来的主体结构。和现代化的五星酒店相比,还是比较特别的。
4.设施设备一般般,可能因为年代太久。住13层的话有隐藏电梯,上下楼快一些。
PPengguna TetamuSuch a wonderful hotel with the most friendliest staff. Christine and Hanni ( sorry if names spelt wrong ) were so lovely and friendly. Always greeted us when we entered or left the hotel. The location is amazing and so central to everything. This will be my hotel to stay in from now on when we visit Sydney. The staff are the best hotel staff I have met 💕
RRoyale CheeseI usually do not post reviews, but I had to this time to share my experiences.
I stayed for a total of 5 nights, Tue and check out on Sunday(7-12 Feb 2023)
Plus point
-Location is really good , plenty of thai/chinese restaurants and room is huge.
-Bed is comfortable,
-Yoshie is one that was one more friendly staff that I remembered her name , please give her a raise or wine on me.(she is a Japanese, in case i got her name wrong)
Hotel staff, is a on and off experience.
The night ones tend to be more ”cold” and the day ones are much better.( again, Yoshie was the ”better” ones, there are more, but I couldnt remember their name)
Now on to the exciting part...
Tuesday- Checkin day, A smooth day but without hand towels and when I asked for them before leaving the place for a concert.
( they claim they were in laundry or something and I find it hard to believe for a 5 star accommodation)
We were without a frying pan as well( they send it up though when i called for it)
Wed- Requested for toothbrush/Toiletries and had to request again after waiting for more than an hour, as it was forgotten ,I presumed
Thu- Requested to change towel when we went out in morning, nothing was done when we were back in evening.
I especially informed the morning reception guys to not forget it, but someone in the middle must have forgotten it.
Evening time, The staff upon informing said they will have it there in 10 mins, which they did.
By the way, the phone became faulty but I didn't bother to inform as I thought I wont have much trouble with it not in use.
I was wrong.
Friday- The express cleaning end-up with all the towels taken away and, thats it.
We found out when we were back in evening.
We were left with no towels and on top of that the phone was not working so I had to go downstairs to inform the reception/staff , on night shift i suppose.
Again they said would be there in 10 mins, which more or less they did.
Saturday- There was a huge cockroach and I had to kill it myself, informed the staff downstairs but honestly I dont expect change of room or anything, just to feedback.
From the above, you can see there were full of dramas and I think these are basic expectations.(especially the towel part)
Would I be back there if I ever go Sydney again?
Unlikely.
PPengguna TetamuA great place to stay near Light Rail, Chinatown, Central, and shopping. Our room was excellent, and we found the reception staff always welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. It is an excellent hotel for location, for guests who may have difficulty walking up and down sloping streets, as it is in a comparably level area.
JJake.ColeiroGreat location based on my needs, travelling for work. Rooms were very spacious and clean and reception staff very friendly.
There is car parking also available at the property which was handy.
