"The room facilities are relatively new and meet 4-star standards. I requested a high floor when booking, and I called the hotel a few days before check-in to confirm it. I didn't expect to be given the first floor in France when I checked in. I wanted to communicate with the hotel through Ctrip's customer service in China to see if I could change to a higher floor. As a result, the hotel's front desk staff hung up the phone directly because they didn't speak English. This attitude is rare. Fortunately, the windows are double-glazed and soundproof. The terminus of bus No. 3 is downstairs. The departure time of buses in France is relatively long, and there is still noise when the vehicles are waiting and idling. The hotel's breakfast is 16 euros per person, which is a bit expensive, but the orange juice and drinks are all Bio"

"The main building of the property is beautiful but has a tight parking space, which… needs to be booked ahead.. and we didn’t know . Anyway, also be aware that there are 3 buildings within the property, 1min walk to each other, and in winter at the dark of the evening, it is not really convenient to go from one place to another one. Anyway. Fact is that the 2 buildings we were presented are beautiful, fully renovated, warm and nicely decorated. Well done. Breakfast was also very good; I just think that the breakfast timing mngt of the various bedrooms run off… as people were queuing up, waiting for tables. My advice: wake up early, go breakfast early! ;-) Again very nice mansion and service."

"This hotel is owned by the Best Western chain but has good personality - focused on the literary author Gustave Flaubert (who was born in Rouen). Rooms are compact but clean - big windows and blackout curtains - comfortable. Breakfast is an additional 19.00 € per person - pricey. The biggest plus is the location - in the centre of the old town, right next to the Jeanne D'arc memorial church and within 5-10 mins walk of most key sights. Staff were friendly, spoke great English (in case your French isn't good) and checking in was easy."

"The Mercure Rouen Hotel is located in the city center, within walking distance of all attractions and food streets. The hotel itself is a typical older European hotel; the facilities and cleanliness are fairly basic, not quite what you'd expect from a four-star hotel. But these are secondary issues. The biggest problem is that most people come here by car, and parking is expensive (19 euros even in the suburbs). You absolutely must confirm the hotel's address with them before you can use the password to enter; otherwise, like us, we wandered around for two hours without finding the entrance. Only after finding the hotel did we get the correct address from the navigation and the password to enter, and the parking lot was extremely small. It was a real ordeal."

Carrefour and Lidl supermarkets are within a five-minute walk, and McDonald's is also in the vicinity. It's basically like a studio apartment, with a TV, a semi-automatic coffee maker, and an electric kettle."

"One of my worst nights at a hotel. It’s not completely the hotel’s fault that there was a heat wave these days, but with +34C outside and no A/C the walls were basically like heaters and opening the window (even the door) did absolutely nothing. I was sweating in the night and had a really bad sleep. To make things worse, there were people outside the window screaming till around 1am and loud machines cleaning the streets from around 7am. The bed mattress was also rather thin. I somewhat liked the location as it is close to the centre, but it’s not an area where you feel comfortable walking at night."
