Also the friendlyness of the host who, seeing that we stay for a longer period, took the initiative of offering us a room that was more spacious than that we had booked at the beginning."

"In many ways the hoitel is better than the overall score I have given it. The main reasons for the low score: 1 - Our room on the groundfloor of the annexe had no sound insulation from the room above. ( woken at 1am to listen to loud voices and again at 6.15am. Every footstep above could be heard. 2 - The shower in this room was over a bath. The bath was 'plastic' and moved under my weight. Not what I would have expected in this class of hotel. What's wrong with a walk in shower? However, on the positives: - The staff were great. The Orangerie restaurant served superb food. The pool was great. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The grounds are superb and the ambience is welcoming. A great place to stay if visiting Puy Du Fou."

"Nice friendly welcome, easy parking for drop off bags. Had upstairs room, comfy bed, good shower. Should have booked evening meal (it was Sunday and smelled wonderful). Good nights sleep, quiet. Standard buffet breakfast, but plenty of it. Reasonably priced so most happy, will return as mid - way between port and or Franch home. Mareuil is pretty too, and I got some fishing in next morning on the Lay. Perfick."

Domaine du Boisniard

"The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. But that's not everything! The interior of the château is dated, the decor is nonsensical and desperately needs updating. There were no toiletries in the room, no tray, no kettle or coffee maker, no bathrobe, no slippers, no toiletries, and only one wash (hand, body, and hair). The restaurant and spa were closed (this wasn't mentioned at the time of booking). Breakfast was decent but could be expanded to appeal to a wider range of tastes (no plant-based milk). In short, very disappointing for a 4-star hotel (it was a 5-star not long ago)."
