August 2023 - Tamerici Lodge (Family of 4) I can’t help feeling a number of the reviews I’ve seen of the site are unfair - though we stayed in one of the lodges so didn’t require a pitch for camping. The resort is clean and attractive, with all the amenities (bar/restaurant/shop) all next to each other and close by. The lodge (Tamerici) is basic (so no telly, limited kitchen and just one sofa) but it is was clean, comfortable and modern and the air con was superb. Each has a veranda and seating which was great for sitting outside in the warm evenings. The food in the restaurant was excellent and all available to take away as well as eat in - the pizzas especially were superb. The ship has fresh bread and pastries delivered every morning and has a nice selection of Italian food and drinks. There is even a small air conditioned gym if you fancy it! Staff are attentive and friendly and speak English well. You will have found this resort to visit Venice and it could not be easier. Venice can be seen across the lagoon and €13 will get you a return trip on the ferry which takes just 20 minutes. The one downside to the site is that it is bang in the middle of nowhere and other than the site there is nothing else accessible walking - you will need a car.

Reviews born from frustration seldom flatter, but I will endeavor to be fair—and honest. We booked our stay about a year from our arrival. At the time of our booking, the hotel advertised air conditioned rooms and included a complimentary breakfast. Our reservation indicated we had a breakfast included with our stay—something we paid extra for. However, upon arrival, our situation had shifted in the hotel’s favor. We arrived just after 2PM, which was the earliest we could check in. The desk clerk was clumsily attempting to check in the young lady who was ahead of us. It took him almost 25 minutes to get her room processed. In the mean time, the lobby began to fill with travelers. The clerk didn’t speak English and the young lady spoke broken English. After 15 minutes, she turned to the crowd and asked if anyone spoke Italian. She knew there was an issue with her room, but didn’t know what it was. The clerk was trying to get her to pay a city tax, and it took a long time to resolve that issue. She insisted she had already paid it, but finally surrendered and offered to pay it again so she could go to her room. When we finally checked in, we found our room on the second floor (actually third, as they don’t count the ground as a level), and entered our room. The first thing we noticed was the room temperature. It was warm and stuffy. A quick inspection revealed the air conditioner was completely disconnected from electric power, as the wires were openly dangling from the ceiling. One of the staff members was helping guests carry their luggage to their room, as the hotel did not have an elevator. We asked about the air conditioner and she said it was unavailable throughout the entire hotel as they were upgrading the system. She brought us a fan. We asked to be moved to another room, but she insisted that none of the rooms had air conditioning. We asked to be moved to a room with more windows so we could get air flow, but she said it was impossible. We asked if they would allow us to check out so we could find better accommodations, but she said there were no refunds. We were stuck with our prepaid room. To make matters worse, our sister and her husband checked in at the same time and their room had air conditioning. To be fair—the hotel did offer to exchange our room after some other guests checked out the next day. But, we declined, not wanting the hassle of having to pack our stuff again to move down one floor. But, sleeping with an open window drew mosquitos, so we should have accepted the room change hassle. The room was clean, but it was tiny. There was no room to walk around the bed, as it was pushed against two walls. Our “dresser” space was taken by the fan. The bathroom was clean and had a decent stand-up shower. It was super small. Only one person could be in the bathroom at a time. And only one person could stand beside the bed at a time. There was little room for changing clothes. We had to place our second bag in front of the door

From the bottom of my heart, please do not waste your money on this place. Look somewhere else. We are a family with a ten year old and 6 month old baby. Entry - pretty straight forward for us, we had a text message with instructions. Once we were in - the living area had a sofa that was pulled out into a bed for us. That’s fine. But there’s then no living area. Or room to swing a cat. Bathroom, there was mould in the shower. The most ridiculous cups for your coffee that also takes 6 years to pour. There’s no cleaning facilities like a sweeping brush so your constantly walking over natural dirt that’s been brought in from outside and having to wipe your feet before getting into bed. No cot was given to us even though one was requested through booking.com. We had high hopes from other reviews that the communication was good, however, I messaged to ask for more cups and an iron but we were left on two blue ticks on WhatsApp. Messaged for help with getting to the airport at 2am - no response. Actually they were pretty rude when they did reply. No one was seen to help us anywhere. The view was stunning once you got into the communal area, that was probably the only highlight. And that it’s right next to the waterbus stop Please spend your money on a better place so that you have a nicer experience of Venice because this place has really ruined a family trip for us.

Ich kann die ganzen guten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Ich war hier für 3 Nächte untergebracht. Die Lage ist wunderbar. Nur paar Minuten zum Bahnhof und eine Vaporetto Station quasi direkt vor der Tür. Auch Bars und Restaurants befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Das Zimmer ( EZ unterm Dach ) ist sehr klein, spartanisch eingerichtet, die Möbel zerfallen fast, mit einer steilen Treppe und die Decke ist sehr niedrig, sodass ich mit meinen 1,80m nicht aufrecht stehen konnte. Und es ist sehr hellhörig. Man hört von den Gästen im. Nachbarzimmer so ziemlich alles. Auch das Bad ist winzig. Wenn man groß ist oder sehr korpulent, wird es schwierig. Ich stieß mit den Knien an der Wand an, als ich auf dem WC saß. Nach meiner Ankunft fand ich Haare am Boden und Staub, der nicht erst einen Tag alt war. Was ich ziemlich eklig fand. Leider kann ich hierzu keine Fotos hochladen. Nachdem ich es dem Gastgeber mitteilte, wurde mein Zimmer umgehend geputzt und danach war es in Ordnung. Mir wurde allerdings vom Vermieter unterstellt, dass ich die Haare da selbst hin gelegt hätte. Das ist eine Frechheit und geht gar nicht!! Man kann hier wohl nicht mit Kritik umgehen!! Ich bekam eine negative Bewertung auf Airbnb. Sergio ist sehr unfreundlich und überheblich gewesen. Die berühmte italienische Freundlichkeit hab ich nicht erleben dürfen. Marcella ist hingegen eine sehr nette Gastgeberin, die mich mit allem versorgt hat, was ich brauchte. Auch Tipps, was man gesehen haben sollte. Venedig ist eine atemberaubend schöne Stadt und ich komme sicher wieder. Werde aber eine andere Unterkunft wählen!!

The Hotel refused to provide accommodation. we forgot Our passports at the hotel in Milan holiday inn. The Milan hotel manager called Ducale and confirmed that the passport are in their possession and they can courier it to the hotel within 24 hours. But we were refused accommodation. The holiday inn hotel manager called another hotel in Central Venice to let us stay and sent them colored copy of our passports. AND arranged to send our passport to our next destination in Florence. We go our passports in Florence to continue our journey. Ducale NEVER provided the customer service holiday inn did and we never stayed there. They actually made quite a few bucks off us and the other hotel managers apologized for Hotel Ducale's ”stupidity in customer service”
