Generally we had a wonderful stay with excellent service from the staffs at the reception and breakfast.  The buggy service was great to send us to or pick us from the gantry of the street.  It was thoughtful of the hotel to provide guests hot tea or water at the reception area.  It adds convenient for any tiring and thirsty returning hotel guests. The only thing we did not enjoy was visitors from outside who walk into the Courtyard where our ground floor rooms are located.  I had a shock when a couple of guys who peep into our room only realised later they were non hotel guests.  A few times it happened with some visitors peeping as we did not close our main door for our 2 neighbouring rooms.  The management should consider using the key tapped glass door similar to the one outside the breakfast room, as visitors can still view the small MingGuo Yuen courtyard with the double storey rooms through the glass  doors.  This also helps to avoid noisy visitors disturbing our rest in the room. Lastly the breakfast was reasonable and I love the hot soup noodle with Fuzhou fishball and dumplings.  Overall its an excellent stay, convenient location to the train station and definitely the tourist street SanFanQiXiang.

I love staying at Tangtao Yard Hostel. The whole place is historic, homey, comfy and tranquillising. I was so lucky to be greeted by a young boy who is the receptionist at the place. He is super helpful and gave me a map detailing all the major scenic spots at Gulangzu. He even told me where I could find great places for local delicacies, making my whole tour memorable and exquisite. My room was very spacious and quiet. The bedding was spotlessly clean. I fell asleep immediately when l lay on the comfy bed. I would definitely pay a visit here again. Thanks for everything.

Rumah berusia berabad-abad itu tersembunyi di sebelah kawasan pusat bandar Pelbagai objek lama, lukisan dan kaligrafi di dalam rumah, serta bekalan hotel yang kaya, mencerminkan kemegahan, semangat dan keramahan bos selatan Fujian. Minum teh di halaman dan hargai perubahan dan pembangunan sepanjang abad yang lalu dengan bos muda untuk seketika dan dapatkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang adat, semangat dan perubahan di selatan Fujian. Saya tinggal di sini untuk dua malam terakhir selama tujuh hari saya di Xiamen (saya juga mengambil kelas dalam talian semasa rehat untuk anak-anak saya, saya meninggalkan hotel awal pada hari kedua tahun kedua sekolah menengah dan kembali ke Beijing untuk menamatkan perjalanan saya ke Xiamen Ia adalah percutian yang sempurna Saya ingin mengucapkan terima kasih kepada bos yang hangat, muda, kacak dan menarik di selatan Fujian. Saya juga berharap bahawa bos telah melindungi rumah lama yang begitu baik ia dihidupkan selama-lamanya.

Liuyue Sea View Hotel made for a great family stay. The restaurant was great and it was so close to the beach where the kids could play. Be sure to plan ahead as the hotel is over 1 km from Sanqiu Wharf, and there are no cars on the island. Fortunately, on the way back we were able to hop on a shuttle for 10 yuan per person so we did not have to worry about walking so far with our luggage. There are so many beautiful sights to see on the island. I highly recommend Liuyue Sea View Hotel and would not hesitate to stay again in the future.

Spending a night at Changdi Inn, nestled in the heart of the historic Hongkeng Tulou Cluster, was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my Xiamen trip. The inn is located within a centuries old Hakka earthen building, and the moment you step inside, you will be instantly transported back in time. The stay offers an immersive look into traditional Hakka culture and architecture, surrounded by thick earthen walls, wooden beams, and antique details that speak volumes of the past. What mak it extra special was meeting the friendly innkeeper, a 6th generation descendant of the family that built and preserved this Tulou. He shared stories and local insights making the whole experience even more meaningful. The room was simple yet clean and comfortable, blending rustic charm with basic modern comforts. I got to enjoy authentic Hakka meals, lovingly prepared and bursting with homestyle flavor, perfect after a day of exploring. Waking up in the peaceful village setting, watching the locals go about their daily lives, and hearing the birds chirping outside, it's a rare, soulful escape from the city.

What an amazing find of a nice cosy hotel with hard to match friendly hospitality and home atmosphere. It's located in a quiet and easy to get to street with easy accessibilty. As it's our first time here we found the assistance accorded tremendously helpful. Whether it's with places of interest to visit or favourable restaurants the recommendations were spot-on. We also found the friendly advice of local culture useful. The tea sessions with the landlord are memorable. We highly recommend a stay at this hotel if you should be thinking of making a visit to this region. We very much look forward to our next visit.

Perkhidmatannya baik dan kalis bunyinya lumayan (anda dapat mendengar suis lampu ditekan dengan sangat jelas). Walaupun ia adalah kunci elektronik, ia tidak mempunyai lubang udara luaran atau pengapit keselamatan, yang agak memalukan apabila seseorang mengetuk pintu dan pergi ke bilik yang salah.

Einfaches, recht sauberes Zimmer im dritten Stock des alten Tulou. Zusätzlich zur Toilette war auch noch eine Dusche in der kleinen Nasszelle. Sehr nette Gastgeberin. Morgens und vor allem abends (zumindest beim meinem Besuch im September) sehr ruhig, tagsüber kommen viele Reisegruppen einschließlich Guides mit Megaphonen durch. Das Tulou liegt innerhalb des Sightseeinggeländes, man braucht also eine Eintrittskarte (50RMB) oder ein Kombiticket (zwei Tage gültig, 98RMB) mit dem Tuloudorf bei Hongkeng, das man mit dem öffentlichen Bus in ein paar Minuten erreichen kann. Nach/von Yongding fahren mehrere Busse (Linie 856) täglich. Es gibt auch Busse von/ab Xiamen und Longyan. Und das einzige Tor zum Tulou wird nachts irgendwann gegen 22 Uhr verschlossen. Stellt also sicher, dass ihr für alle Fälle eine Telefonnummer habt.

Very friendly owners take care of us throughout our stay, cozy breakfast every morning. Nice traditional old style of rooms and environment. Location may be slightly hard to get to (walking from main road roundabout) but still manageable and located in the middle of pedestrian street, easy and convenient to get food and buy souvenirs. Good eateries right outside the hotel.

In Tingzhou we had the great privilege of staying in a heritage building converted into a BnB, and this building has an even crazier story - it was the imperial stage-post of Tingzhou, dating back to the reign of Emperor Chenghua of Ming (late 1400s). In the Yuan Dynasty, the Mongolian empire was so massive that it became necessary to develop what was likely the most efficient postal system the world had ever seen up till then. In the following Ming Dynasty, China inherited and refined the imperial postal system so that there was an abundance of stage-posts in the empire to provide lodging for couriers delivering imperial edicts, and traveling officials. If you think it’s expensive to stay in such a gorgeous and unique building, think again. We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and value for money of this place, as well as the friendliness of the staffs.
