"Room was spacious, new and clean. Would have preferred a kettle as the Nespresso machine has residual taste of coffee but the front desk offered a jug of hot water to bring into our room which was great. Pillow was too thin. About the toilet, would have preferred a curb at the shower stall so it doesnt get too wet. Breakfast was great; eggs were well made, and food was fresh and tasty."

"Clean rooms and shared spaces, comfortable beds, nice towels included. Kitchen equipment was very good. Huge fridge for sharing. Excellent coffee. Some guest didn’t obey the rules about the quiet time between 11pm-7am nor the washing up and putting away what you use rule. Heavy self closing doors on the bedrooms that people allowed to slam until Midnight and from 5:30am. Saw (and heard!) several men using the WC’s with the door open. Not ok. Children around and frankly I don’t want to see anyone urinating But that’s not the fault of the guest house. Just something to be aware of if you’re using shared facilities. Be more considerate!!"

Room size is bigger than other Iceland hotels. Shower is only separated from toilet by a shower curtain, so bathroom would get a bit wet but not a big issue. Both dinner and breakfast are good. Better reserve for dinner as it gets busy. O sure washing machine is handy, although may need to wait a bit as there is only one machine. Staff are generally helpful. Overall a pleasant stay."

"Beachfront resort but I only got a skylight. Even the bathroom had a better view. The room had 2 beds but linens were removed for one since I was a solo traveler and only 1 towel was provided. No shoes policy helped keep the house clean. That is very good. I didn’t use the kitchen much except to make tea but seems like it is in good condition. Dishwashing liquid however was in a glass jar instead of pump. It’s strange cos you end up using too much for a small spoon and the jar is very slippery. Bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was excellent! Hot food along with homemade breads. It was the best breakfast I had in my 2 weeks in Iceland. Location is an hour drive from Egilsstaðir via some mountain pass, gravel roads and along the coast road. The views are breathtaking. But it’s a small town and if you don’t intend to hike around the area then it might not be worth spending so much time getting to and fro your accommodation."

"a charming hotel in a small town, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The room was cozy and well-decorated, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, I did find the kitchen lacking; it would have been more convenient to have an induction stove and a microwave, along with some basic cooking equipment like pots and pans. While there was a supermarket across the road, stocking up on raw food proved challenging for a short stay. Additionally, the absence of nearby restaurants made dining options limited. Wasn't expecting much but ended up so pleasantly surprised! My elderly parents and I absolutely loved our stay here! One of the best places we stayed in Iceland this trip. The Guesthouse manager (matnus? Sorry I'm not sure how his name is spelt!) was kind enough to help us arrange a last minute change of room as we changed our minds and wanted to upgrade to a bigger room. We stayed at the one bedroom apartment and everything was lovely. Squeaky clean, even for a clean freak like me. The place was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. I noticed there is a thick layer of cushion over the sofa bed so this was the most comfortable sofa bed I've ever slept on. My parents also said the double bed was very very comfortable. Highly highly recommend this Guesthouse!

It is very close to the supermarket and there is a shared kitchen. Here is the design of a shared bathroom. We live on the second floor. There are three bathrooms and three toilets on the second floor. It is convenient to use and the whole is full of comfort. However, the five-person room will be a bit crowded.

Location: Good, located next to the lake, with restaurants and attractions nearby Facilities: We stayed in a two-person room on the third floor. The room was a bit small, and a suitcase larger than a boarding suitcase might get stuck; the extension cord had poor contact, the hot water pressure was sufficient, and it came with a hair dryer, soap, shampoo and Conditioner; there is chess to play in the public area. But why does the 4-person room on the first floor have a hot water kettle (as seen through the window when walking by the lake), but not upstairs? ! Service: The first floor is under renovation, self-service is provided, keys are provided in envelopes for self-pickup, no breakfast is provided, only paper is enclosed in the envelope. Recommended restaurants Others: Located next to the road, with no airtight windows and poor sound insulation

What an amazing place to stay! It feels like you’re in the wilderness but it’s a peaceful, high quality hotel (we stayed in a hotel room) with tasty, locally farmed, Icelandic food on the restaurant menu and a very good breakfast included on our hotel booking. The staff were so friendly and helpful - and there are 2 dogs, a friendly reindeer called Toby, an arctic fox, goats and sheep wandering around. In fact the dogs escorted me on my walk to a lake which made my day. To top it all we saw a stunning northern lights display and the sky was perfectly clear. A fabulous place !

This hotel is very suitable for vacation and leisure. It is located in a forest. The front desk drove a golf cart to deliver our luggage to the door of the room. The hotel is a bit far from the center of Egilsstadt. The breakfast is average with few options. The dinner is okay, but the steak is too old. The chef came out to greet us personally and replaced it with cod according to our request.

This stay was truly excellent! The guesthouse was very comfortable overall, with a large kitchen equipped with new and complete appliances that were very convenient to use. The rooms were also spacious, and the overall environment was clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. Furthermore, the location is fantastic; if you're lucky, you might even see the Northern Lights, making this stay even more special! The only minor suggestion is that it would be more convenient if the check-in process or contact information were clearly provided beforehand. We waited a little while after arriving and were able to contact someone before successfully checking in. However, overall, this didn't affect our positive impression of the guesthouse at all, and we highly recommend it!
