"Hotel could seem abit dated, but everything is very clean. There were a few stink bugs during our stay but it could not be helped as it was autumn season, and the hotel staff helped to catch them where possible. The sulfur smell in the hallway could be quite strong for some people, but I think it's a natural part because of the onsen. Staff were very kind and helpful. Can consider going on their guided trekking programme as they were very considerate in making the trek fun and safe for us. The buffet food is very good! Every dish was done quite nicely and they change most of the menu for the two days I was there. Did not regret getting it."

"Amazing stay with very friendly staff, even thise who are helping with breakfast. Great location just in front of the train station. The room was spacious, the bathroom had a great bathtub, and amenities were not lacking. They have the breakfast lounge open from 12-8pm, where you can work or chat or just people watch in front of the station and have coffee, tea and soda available. You can also eat your food here though the microwave is on a different floor. I would definitely come back to this hotel, as I fell in love with Morioka."

I will definitely stay here next time when visiting Morioka. Grids hotel is just a memorable hidden jem."

Barbecues for the table and delicious sashimi and hand prepared sushi. Soups, stews, salad and more! To follow was an assortment of cakes and ice creams. Staff were very helpful and polite and the food was filling and delicious. We then retired to the hotel bar where we were again greeted by a lovely member of staff. Upon return to our room, futons had been prepared and the room made ready for sleep. These were surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast was also delicious with a huge array of dishes to choose from. Check out was simple and staff were helpful and polite. I will definitely be returning! I"

"My friend booked the other Toyoko Inn near Morioka Eki and I only found out after trying to check-in. Luckily the two hotels are quite close to each other. The location was great, just a few minute walk from the JR station so I was able to pack my snowboard and walked to the station myself. Breakfast was included. Variety was little but the menu changed everyday. Room was bigger than I thought. I booked a single room but it came with a double bed. I had my snowboard luggage laid out and still quite some space to walk around in the room. The clam broth serving at night time was extraordinary good!"

Room is clean, but no hook for hanging stuff in the bathroom. No expectation in public bath, better than nothing. Kitakima is a very sleepy town, few selection of restaurants in town, no restaurant near the hotel, but one inside the hotel. Steak is great there. Wrong room type had been allocated to me ( not the problem of the hotel), but finally being compensated by Trip.com."

The environment: The room was surprisingly spacious, exceeding my expectations. There's a 24-hour convenience store right downstairs, and you can use your room key to enter and exit. It's also very close to the train station. Facilities: The facilities were great. They even provided free hydrating facial masks and toiletries, making it the only hotel on my trip to Japan that offered masks. Service: Breakfast was quite varied, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a view directly across from Morioka Station, so you could enjoy the scenery while eating. Guests staying on certain floors also had access to afternoon tea, with cakes, nuts, and drinks, and could enjoy the night view in the evening! Overall, I felt it was excellent value for money!

A 10-minute walk from Morioka Station, it's not super close, but the price is great. They offer coffee and tea, which is a nice touch. Plus, there's a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk. I'd recommend staying here!

This Toyoko Inn is a bit far from JR Morioka Station, requiring a walk through an underpass, so it's not the most convenient. Unlike other Toyoko Inns, there are no welcome drinks or ramen offered in the evenings. Breakfast is also very standard, and the rooms are quite small. Overall, it's an average experience.

The best ski in and ski out and Onsen hotel in Japan so far! We loved the hotel so much in Oct 2025 so we rebooked and came again from Dec 20-24, 2025. 1. Very convenient for ski experience. Ski in and ski out. Ski rental and ski coach school are just besides hotel. Good experience for rentals and coaches hiring. 2. Breakfast and dinner buffets are great and so yummy! The food does change every night to give you diversified variation to choose from. Very delicate food preparations by great chefs so don’t worry you will never get bored. 3. Onsen is also great great great! Great view and women and men get alternate the hot spring pool everyday. 4. First floor relaxing area is great great! You have self service bar of juice / soda / coffee and popsicles. 5. The hotel staffs are so nice and make you feel at home. Motoyo-San is extremely friendly and her English is so fluent!!! We were very lucky to have her help out during our stay. 6. 3rd floor is newly renovated so pls try this beautiful room next time! Highly recommend!!!! Great for family and couple trips!

This hotel just opened, so it's very new and super close to the station. Plus, if you walk another 5 minutes, there's a 24-hour Aeon supermarket, which is incredibly convenient. They also have a free public bath and lounge open until 1 AM! It was so good that I booked another night for my return trip!

We had a pleasant stay in general. However, room ceaning service needs to be improved. Our group of people have a few bad experiences. 1) after returning to room after the day, there was a used mask left in the bathroom. There’s also a day without providing onsen towels and we had to bring over the mid size ones 2) the door of my friend’s room remained open after the cleaning service (a 3M sticker with なすし2 sticked on wall). Glad there’s no missing items 3) another room, there was blood and urine stint left on the toilet cover! I hope the hotel can take it seriously as it indeed ruins the brand of IHG and bad customer experience.

A group of four of us booked a cabin on a whim, and I’m so happy we did!! We did a two-day ski trip to Geto Kogen, and I cannot stress enough how convenient these cabins were to the resort itself. We stayed overnight in between two days at the resort. The drive up to the resort was less than 20 minutes. The cabin itself was super cozy, so comfortable, had great amenities for the short time we were there, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Everything was very clean, the heater was already on when we arrived, which was a very thoughtful touch, and we were able to hang all our snow gear to dry thanks to the copious amounts of hangars available. We felt it was a crazy good deal based on the price, location, and availability to book it just a few days in advance. We will definitely be back in the summer to use the grill and go golfing at the country club!

I stayed at this place during my hike through the Michinoku coastal trail. This is a good choice before you attempt Kurosakiso and Kitayamazaki coast. This can be reached easily from Horinai station. Cross the big bridge and walk a bit more, you can see the sign to the left. The hotel has nice indoor and outdoor onsen. Many locals come here to use the onsen. They probably have annual or life membership to use the onsen. It is a nice opportunity to chat with some of them. When I was there, it was raining and hence I could not enjoy the view, however, using onsen after hiking in the rain was quite relaxing. On a clear day, the ocean can be seen from the room window. Dinner can be ordered and is quite good at a reasonable price. The next day, the hotel shuttle dropped me to the train station which was quite nice, I did not have to walk in rain.

The room was great although a bit small for anyone carrying a luggage bigger than 24 inches. You need to grab your amenities in the lobby. The room was very clean and the walk-in shower was much more convenient than a tub. The internet was amazingly fast. The breakfast was absolutely the most enjoyable part of the stay. You have different options including some local ones. The view of the seats are fascinating. You never get tired of just sitting there and enjoying a cup of morning coffee.
