"A great experience. During the first half of the week, Carol was just a sweetheart. Every morning she would tell us about what was for breakfast. Then she’d want to know what we were getting into each day.  The cleaning staff did a wonderful job keeping the room and the hotel clean. The hotel was close to gas stations, museums and other facilities. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone traveling through Montana. Thanks for being genuine good folks."

"Really enjoyed our stay here. It was only for one night but would definitely stay here again. It’s a 15 minute walk to Main St and pretty convenient to other nearby spots. The room had blackout shades which we loved and was very clean. Had basic amenities like body wash, condition and shampoo. There was also a microwave, refrigerator, luggage rack and blow dryer. Staff was super and lobby was cute! Also a plus that there is a drive thru coffee shop in the middle of the parking lot that has yummy drinks and breakfast!"

"At check in, I requested for the sofa bed to be made and receptionist promised it would already have been made up. We opened the sofa bed in the evening and turns out the sofa bed wasn’t made up. Receptionist said there was no longer any housekeeping after 4pm so they passed us sheets and bedding to make the bed ourself. However the duvet was damp and stank badly of sweat and I had to request for another one. Was given another “duvet” that was actually a mattress protector. By that time after multiple trips to the lobby (no phone in the room to call the front desk) we just made do with it but was uncomfortable as it did not fit well. Next day after the day out, we returned and found the room was not tidied despite there supposed to be housekeeping. Beds barely made, duvets just thrown on haphazardly, pillows not arranged, towels unchanged. The sofa bed was not tidied either. No apology at all from the front desk. I would not return to this hotel and would not recommend as there are many other hotels in the vicinity that have just as good location.  "

The room was too close to the road for the first night and did not rest. The problem was solved by changing the room for the next two nights. There are relatively few hotels in this place, and there are many people on weekends.

The location of The Lazy Duck Inn is perfect—just a few minutes' drive from the West Entrance of Yellowstone. West Yellowstone town itself has everything you need, and the McDonald's nearby is probably your most reliable bet for food. The room was renovated, really clean, and the mattress was super comfortable. It’s got a coffee maker, microwave, and mini-fridge, but the best part was definitely the huge smart TV where you can cast YouTube and Netflix straight from your phone. They also have grills and an ice machine in the common area. Even though it's a contactless vibe, you can see staff around every morning if you need to ask them for anything. A couple of downsides: the Wi-Fi can be pretty sluggish at times. Also, there are no exhaust fans in the kitchen or bathroom, so any cooking or bathroom smells tend to linger in the room for a while. Lastly, the room rate plus the cleaning fee is definitely on the pricier side, but honestly, that’s just a West Yellowstone thing. Just a heads-up for future guests: amenities might vary depending on the room number, so make sure to check carefully before booking. Also, the property has two floors, and if you get a room on the second floor, you'll need to carry your luggage up the stairs. Overall, if you want something close to the park that’s clean and has great amenities, this is a solid place to stay. Just keep the Wi-Fi and ventilation in mind.

The location is very good, just not far from the west entrance of Yellowstone Park, opposite the supermarket, we prepare meals easily, with microwave and refrigerator, very helpful for us to stay for two nights. Many stores on the street are very convenient, not far from the visitor center, it is convenient to buy Yellowstone tickets first. The counter is also polite. Although the price is more favorable than many West Yellowstone hotels, there is no mineral water, slippers, toiletries and breakfast, this price is expensive.

The hotel is very unique, with a cute wolf on the doorstep. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped, making it suitable for families. The standard American breakfast was very good. I asked what time to go to Yellowstone Park in the morning to avoid queuing, and the front desk patiently told me that it was best to go before 8 o'clock.

The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Everything was mostly great until…. I walked out to my car in the morning and it was completely covered in a filthy-looking thick white residue. Upon asking, another guest informed me that it was probably from the sprinkler system, which sprays water with some kind of calcium deposit. I was furious. I immediately went to the Circle K car wash and it took 2 $10.00 laser washes (one with spinning brushes) to get it off. I’m still not sure if it’s perfectly gone. I’ve been reading bad things online about the possible effects of calcium on car paint. Upon asking, I was informed by the receptionist that the hotel does not help with the cost of washing it off cars. Maybe this a common occurrence in Montana, but, where I’m from, if you make a mess on someone else’s car, you should be willing to help them clean it off (especially if they are a paying guest). Overall, this seems like a nice hotel but, honesty, this calcium junk being sprayed all over my car was compete BS!

There is a real customer service effort to improve this hotel. Shawn the manager allowed me to check in early as aBW platinum member. He let me drop my bags early in the morning and called me when the room was ready. He even had the bags placed in the room before I returned.  The breakfast was great for this type of hotel.  The clientele was respectful and polite. Oh. And Shawn even called after I checked out as I left behind an important item.  However, the pool/sauna area is not operational, and my room had a lingering pet odor and visible carpet stain. I am a dog owner and animal lover, but housekeepers really need to notify the manager as the room should not have been assigned. I personally think hotels need to charge 500 bucks for cleaning if dog hair or other 'remnant' is left behind. I won't stay at a certain LaWyndham brand that has a generous pet policy.  Their rooms all smell like Fifi and Buddy stayed there. I hope this property continues to improve.

Pros: the hot tub, pool and dry sauna. They were amazing - esp. the dry sauna that is open 24/7. This was the highlight of my stay. The beds were also comfortable. Cons: rooms are tight, had to unplug heater/cooling device to turn it off because the wall thermostat wouldn't turn it off. There's nowhere to hang anything, like hand towels by the sink, and bathroom is super tight with low, small toilet that had to be flushed twice each time. Beware that Trip.com gives you the option to book a pet-friendly room (for which I paid extra), but the hotel informed me it's a separate charge that you pay when you check in and NOT payable through Trip.com. The hotel kindly waived the fee, for which I'm grateful. Staying for a few days, the size of the room became an issue. Also, if you are staying here for Glacier National Park, note that it is far away (approx. 2 hours to get to a hike) and the driving is intense with high speeds and sometimes, heavy cross winds.

The hotel has a beautiful mountain view if you are staying in the building off the main road. However; the hotel itself is the furthest hotel from the main part of the town so not possible to walk there to the most restaurants and shops. The room was spacious and bed was comfortable. It was convenient to stay on the top floor for the back building so I could take my luggage directly from the car without having to carry it up the stairs. There is a nice laundry room and coffee shop with a small limited breakfast. I would advise the hotel to use regular black out shades instead of blinds because the porch light is extremely bright as if it is daylight. Unless they dim the porch light or turn it off at a certain hour of the night. The air conditioning heating units are very loud so if the room next store is running it it is hard to sleep. Rooms has a strong smell advised to use air freshener or milder cleaning products.

I watched this place be constructed so I was excited about our stay knowing it was brand new. The front lobby was clean. The check in clerk was nice but seemed very spacey to put it nicely. I was able to get an extra pillow and blanket. They is a decent area of sun dries on site. Our room was nice. Clean for the most part. Show may have been skipped in last cleaning. Our room was ADA and the mattress would fall thru the frame whenever my husband got into bed. We expressed this concern when checking out because it could hurt someone if they were actually handicapped. We just got the room because it was last available. She didn’t seem that concerned. So who knows. But it’s right on main. Near mall and lots of shopping and eateries. Not too far from downtown Bozeman. It’s great to have a kitchen to save more on food. The gym was nice. Small but clean. I would stay again just because of its location and the kitchen.
