Im highy appreciated by the service provided by Ms. Sugimoto and Ms. Mastsumoto from the front desk. During my trip i have encountered some problem, they proactively provide assistance with their professional attitude which made me feeling heartful and respectful. Typical Japanese hot spring hotel with excellent view. A bit far from the main street but wont be a problem if you can have a 6-7 mins walk from there.

The hotel is about 20~25 mins walk away from the JR rail station. The facility is on average. Room is small but is fully equipped. I am traveling with my wife and the double bed is small even for our Asian sizes. Breakfast needs a lot of improvement. We stayed at Dormy Inns at other locations and have much more varieties and choices than this one at Takamatsu . Putting another set of pillows in the room will be welcomed by most guests.

琴平河濱酒店位置很方便，由JR琴平站或琴電琴平站步行八分鐘到，行出酒店便是河畔，天色好時可看到紅色橋和白色橋的倒影。酒店的設施雖比不上大型的溫泉酒店，但勝在環境清靜，衛生很好，員工親切有禮，步行數分鐘便到金刀比羅宮附近的商店街和登山入口。早餐食物款式簡單卻美味，絕對可食得飽，酒店價格性價比高，值得推薦。

Hotel staff at reception desk is super helpful and very patient to assist customer.
Room is super clean and breakfast is nice.
We stayed this hotel for 4 nights for a golf trip. During our stay, there were a couple issues we have with car rental companies. Staff was very kind to help in local languange conversation with call center and local police individuals to effectively get thing done. I cannot image how long it will take for us to communicate with non-Japanese lauguage... Good job Route Inn hotel.

Great service in a large Japanese Tradional Onsen hotel. Minutes from the famous Kompira Shrine , room is spacious with great facilities, the outdoor Onsen is good but provide no views. Hotel has free car parking in an area some distance away, though shuttle are free.

部屋がとても綺麗でした！私たちは入っていませんが、隣にある温泉に無料で入れるチケットが貰えます。また、自由に遊べるボードゲームが沢山あり、とても楽しかったです！スーツケースを2個広げられる広さが十分ありました。お風呂はバスタブはなくてシャワーだけでした。中庭がありそこでキャンプファイヤーもやってるみたいです。またぜひ泊まりたいと思えるホテルでした！

Отель хороший и соответствует своей ценовой категории. Номера просторные, новые и комфортные для проживания. Персонал приветливый, все автоматизировано - ушли от физических ключей к QR и pin кодам. Если мне когда-нибудь еще раз посчастливиться посетить Шодошиму, я попробую еще раз остановиться в этом отеле. Теперь о том, почему оценка не 5/5 - если вам не повезло и номер как у меня на 2ом этаже, то у вас с балкона прекрасный вид на дорогу и трафик по ней, так что есть небольшая несоответствие с фото. Перила на том же балконе, могли бы быть пониже, я понимаю, безопасность превыше всего (особенно с бесплатными напитками в лобби баре, но вы делаете упор на виды из номера, а сидя в креслах на балконе, га вид ты смотришь через решетку ограждения - что не очень комфортно. Завтраки с не самым большим количеством блюд, но справедливости ради, каждое из них вкусное и достойно похвалы.
Еще я посещал ресторан отеля, поужинать. На мой взгляд, вам лучше изменить меню на то, в чем вы будете мастера.
Паэлья с говядиной - сам рис хорошо приготовлен, но вот говядина местами требовала усилий чтоб ее проживать и в целом была довольно безвкусная.
Бурата с фруктами - сама бурата суховата чем ты это привык от нее ожидать, оливкового масла, соли и перца не достаточно, что странно, для острова славящегося своими оливками. Попробуйте добавлять больше или приносить с блюдом соль, масло и перец, чтобы гости могли приправить по своему вкусу.
Мороженое с оливковым маслом солью и черным перцем - та же проблема что из буратой - специи как будто кто-то украл, но ведь в них сама суть данного блюда.

Only at the end of the dinner, the white rice served, although delicious, but no dishes to match, make the overall pale. It would be perfect if it could be served with some wild vegetables at the same time. You can also add two more pieces of fruit.

1) The shuttle bus driver (morning shift strong man, forgot asking his name). When we arrived at Shodoshima Ferry Pier at 11:00am on April 7, we found a hotel shuttle bus, but not sure if it's the one of our staying hotel. We asked the driver if it's the one that waiting to pick us up. He said yes, but the hotel check-in time should be 3:00pm in the afternoon. He suggested us to have the sightseeing first and helped register the afternoon time for picking us instead. Also, he suggested taking our hand carry bags to the hotel front desk to avoid we carrying too heavy bags while travelling.
2) The lady staff (sorry for forgetting her name) at the lobby hall, who was very proactive. She came over immediately to help taking photos for us when she found we're taking a selfie. She also served us with free drinks for enjoying the sunset at the hall.
3) The staff at the reception desk are very professional. They helped us for check-in, explained the details of the time for meals, and provided all the information required.
4) The foods for dinner & breakfast buffet are very nice and yummy. The restaurant is clean and tidy.
Overall, Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel is a very professional and comfortable accommodation for stay. We're pleased and feel glad choosing this hotel.

GGuest UserThe room is quite compact, with a 1.4-meter double bed, leaving very limited space to move around.
The hot springs on the hotel's top floor are a definite bonus! They offer complimentary ice cream (3:00 PM - 12:00 AM) and Yakult (5:00 AM - 10:00 AM). After 9:30 PM, you can also enjoy hot spring ramen.
For breakfast, they serve udon with tempura, which is very authentic and delicious.
As for transportation, take the bus from Takamatsu Airport to Chuo Koen-mae (Central Park). After getting off, walk back a bit, and you'll see the Dormy Inn next to a gas station.
From the hotel, if you turn right, you can walk to the Michelin-starred Ritsurin Garden. Turning left will take you to Takamatsu Port, where you can catch various island-hopping ferries. There are also many great restaurants directly across from the hotel.
Overall, aside from the room being too small, everything else was fine.

SSunflower_yemeiziShuttle Service: When booking accommodations, there were only two ways to arrange a shuttle, and for some reason, my email only linked to a very old address I rarely use. My messages went unanswered. I also tried calling from other cities in Japan, but an automated Japanese voice service picked up. Thankfully, at JR Kotohira Station, there was an Information counter. A young, helpful service attendant who spoke simple English immediately called the hotel for me when she heard where I was staying. The car arrived in about 5 minutes. The shuttle driver, a slightly chubby young man with glasses, spoke excellent English. He was quite chatty and humorous, making the ride enjoyable. He also recommended a famous local udon restaurant and advised that climbing to the top of Konpira-san Shrine would take at least 2.5 hours (definitely allow more time if you want to look around carefully and take photos).
Luggage Storage: We arrived at the hotel at 11 AM, dropped off our luggage, and headed straight for a meal before ascending Konpira-san. Upon returning to the hotel, our luggage had already been delivered directly to our room.
Room: We booked a bit late, but for this price, in other major Japanese cities, you'd only get a quarter of the space. My friend commented that she could finally spread out her suitcase and organize her belongings. There was also a dressing room/vanity, though the lighting was a bit dim. In the evenings, we enjoyed tea on the balcony, which was a very pleasant spot to relax and enjoy the view. Our room offered a direct view of the hotel garden and pond, a wonderful experience.
Restaurant: When booking, I chose the hotel's ”Sanuki Santoku” (Three Treasures of Sanuki) dining plan. The waiter escorted us to a table with a great view and explained each dish. The food was delicious, and I was absolutely stuffed (I have a small appetite). Most of the service staff appeared to be of Indian descent.
Other Features:
1) I really loved the public lounge. In the evenings, the spacious design and soft lighting created a wonderful ambiance. It was very atmospheric to sit and slowly savor coffee/champagne (complimentary).
2) Our accommodation included one complimentary 45-minute private onsen session on the same floor as the lounge. It had a sofa and drinks, but only one shower stall, so if there were multiple people, we'd have to take turns. For me, the time was too short, and the water temperature wasn't as high as in the public bath.
3) The public bath had two pools. A smaller one outdoors, where the water was quite hot, and a sauna room, which was also very hot! I personally preferred the public bath.

GGuest UserI was surprised by how small the room was for a hot spring ryokan. With two suitcases, there was barely any room to walk. There was no Wi-Fi signal in the room, and the explanation given was that too many guests were using it simultaneously that night. Wi-Fi was only available in the hallway and lobby. Although the staff tried hard to resolve the issue, there was no solution, so we had to use our own mobile data (as an apology, they gave us a small souvenir when we checked out).
Additionally, the 'one night, two meals' package... At over ¥2200, it was ¥1200 more expensive than just the room, but both dinner and breakfast were very mediocre. Compared to a hot spring ryokan I stayed at previously on Shodoshima (which wasn't great either, but at least the food was refined), the meals here were far inferior. There were only three small slices of sashimi, and there were even fish scales on the fish. For ¥1200, two people could have had many better dining options outside.
The hot spring was decent, but nothing particularly impressive.

AAnonymous UserConveniently located right from the approach to Konpira, close to both JR Kotohira Station and Kotoden Kotohira Station. Amenity is only a toothbrush set and the other is taken next to the front desk.
The tea pack has only tea, but I was grateful that I could bring coffee back with a cup after breakfast.
It is less than 15 minutes walk to Marnaka of super Marquette.

GGuest UserThe room was very clean! We are not in, but we can get a free ticket to the hot spring next door. Also, there were many board games that you can play freely, and it was a lot of fun! There was enough space to spread two suitcases. The bath was only a shower without a bathtub. There is a courtyard and it seems that campfire is also held there. It was a hotel that I would definitely like to stay again!
