Great hotel with friendly staff, clean environment, good breakfast and convenient parking in the garage with discount. Location nearby the Japanese street and shopping street.

The entire hotel was very clean. Additionally, the cost performance of the breakfast was very good. Overall, it was the off-peak season for travel, so there were fewer people, but there were no noisy guests, and the clientele was classy, which was nice.

Great breakfast. Lots of selections. Definitely select the breakfast option. Near to the central train station and is just in front of the tram station.

Das Hotel liegt in Köln recht zentral. Auch die Möglichkeit direkt im Hotel zu frühstücken hat wohl den Ausschlag für die Buchung gegeben. Jedoch schon bei der Ankunft zeigte sich das an der Rezeption vor und nach mir es wohl Lautstärkedifferenzen zwischen den Buchungen der anreisenden Gäste und den Verständnis, der nur bedingt deutsch sprechenden Dame an der Rezeption gab. Ich selbst, bin sehr viel in Hotels unterwegs hab es aber extrem selten erlebt, dass das Personal gegenseitig immer wieder lautstark vorgestern um Abläufe, welche eingeübt sein sollten, stritten. Mein Zimmer selbst war abgewohnt und hatte wohl den Flair der 1980 Jahre. Stromkabel einfach an die Wand geklebt, mit der Hoffnung, dass diese sich nicht wieder lösen. Insgesamt würde ich dieses Hotel nicht mehr buchen. Was den Grund, dass Mitarbeiter und Gäste sich ständig negativ anschreien.

Die Lage ist gut, zu Fuß ca. 15 Minuten zum Dom, in einer einigermaßen ruhigen Seitenstraße. Zimmer sind sauber und gut ausgestattet aber klein. Hier sind wohl einige Häuser zusammengefügt worden, es wird deswegen wohl Unterschiede in der Größe der Zimmer geben. Schöne und große Auswahl zum Frühstück, welches auf der Website für einen unschlagbaren Preis inkludiert war. Tiefgarage gegen Gebühr vorhanden, zu breit sollte das Auto dafür nicht sein. Check In und Out hat wunderbar funktioniert.

Ich buche dieses Hotel nun schon einige Jahre in folge. Es liegt nahe des Hauptbahnhofs, somit auch perfekt für die Gäste die mit der Bahn anreisen. Das Hotel verfügt über eine eigen Tiefgarage, in der man als Gast der mit Auto anreist einen Parkplatz bekommt. Der ist allerdings kostenpflichtig. Wer aber in solche Städte reist, weis das überall Parkgebühren verlangt werden. Man findet selten solch ein ausnahmsloses freundliches Personal. Das Frühstück ist perfekt und immer bestens bestückt. Auch ein Lob an das Reinigungspersonal, auch hier gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Ja, die Bäder sind jetzt nicht riesig, aber zweckmäßig und sauber. Bedingt durch die Bahnhofsnähe ist alles sehr gut und schnell erreichbar. Wer gerne ein paar Schritte geht, kann auch vieles recht schnell Fußläufig erreichen.

The hotel's location is perfect for catching different public transport means quickly and efficiently. The room was well-lighted, spacious, great for relaxing but also working, and had a pleasant modern warm aesthetic. The restaurant had delicious quality food (breakfast selection was very diverse, dinner too was always tasty), ”served” with a stylish and cozy atmosphere. The hotel's staff as well as the restaurant's staff were very friendly and had a lot of benevolent patience with my rusty German speaking skills! Communication was easy, professional, but also comfortable, in both German and English. Very happy with my choice, my heartfelt thanks to all the staff!

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights for business in May. The hotel is pretty new - I think less than 2 years old. The rooms are quite big, with full kitchen amenities (fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, full set of glasses. The surprise was there was no kitchen roll for cleaning - all the apartments of these types of hotels have some cleaning paper. The location is very close to Koln Messe Deutz station, and we made easy travel arrangements by train to the Dusseldorf fair. The room is clean, the windows are opening (a big plus), and the façade is quite modern. The hotel is quiet, especially since my room faced the open courtyard, which was super quiet, even sleeping with open windows. Breakfast is OK, nothing spectacular, and I think a bit overpriced for the 23 EUR per person. The only problems we had were with sporadic services and some items in the room malfunctions: I had electricity problems with the power supply (caused by a defect in the dishwashing machine which could not be switched off - The fuse went off). I had a problem with the telephone. For every problem, I had to drag to the reception (unable to talk on the phone). The coffee in the room was delivered in the first few days, the next 2 days, and there was no new coffee pack (to make your French press). One day I did not have big towels delivered (the housekeeping did not replace the used towels on the bathroom floor, and I had to go to the reception to ask for them. I would give that hotel 3 stars, but the best surprise was the super fast internet connection (free). We had 200 MB/sec, perfect for surfing and streaming.

I stayed for 2 nights on a trip through Europe. The hotel is centrally located, just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Cologne Cathedral. What I liked: The great location. The friendly staff. Exceptionally clean. Great Breakfast with lots on offer. Easily accessible. The bed was comfortable. What I didn’t like: The room I was given was tiny with no window. It was so so hot and sadly that affected my sleep. The room had air conditioning but it didn’t work and just circulated hot air. However, the kind man on reception offered me another room, but I was already settled and for such a short stay didn’t want to pack everything up again. Regardless of that, I’d be happy to stay here again and the price I paid was incredibly reasonable, being so close to the centre of the city.

Excellent location opposite the cathedral and very close to the main station. I had a single room on the top floor that had a balcony with an amazing view. Only negatives were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and the reception staff downstairs were not particularly smiley or welcoming. I hadn’t paid for breakfast in advance but they should still have mentioned it to me as an option when I checked in.

Quietly, conveniently and serenely stayed at this hotel for the past 6 days. Good to recommend this hotel as a priority choice especially for cologne travellers who preferable to stay away from bustling areas. An enjoyable back and forth daily walk from hotel to train station whereby some good restaurants are the best solutions of our hungers. Highly recommended to stay and definitely will stay again in the future. Thank you..

Very convenient situated, on walking distance of the airport terminal T1 and T2, as well as from the airport parking P2. The hotel has no car parking facilities. It's a large hotel, with a reception, bar and restaurant on the 5th floor, all very cosy. We enjoyed drinks at the bar, as well as from tasteful meal at the restaurant. The standard room is of normal size, the bathroom is rather small and sized for 1 person at the time. Surely recommend this hotel when travelling from the Cologne-Bonn airport.

Sehr Modern eingerichtet und die Zimmer sind sauber. Leider war bei unserem Besuch am 21.08.2021 die Mini Bar nicht bestückt. Ich denke aber, dass dies der Corona Situation geschuldet ist. Leider gibt es im Hotel keine Bar. Sollte man Durst am spätenAbend bekommen steht ein Getränkeautomat zu Verfügung . Das Früstück Buffet ist vollkommen in Ordnung , man sollte aber jetzt kein 4 Sterne Buffet erwarten, aber man wird satt und die Auswahl ist auch OK.

First impressions were reasonable, but during our first morning at the hotel, everything soon went downhill. From 8am till around 4pm there were two separate 'evacuations' into the hotel lobby with fire and police services being called both times. After the first evacuation, we went into town, came back 4 hours later, only for the whole hotel to be evacuated again!! Hotel staff were short tempered and nasty, bluntly barking at us to evacuate with hours going by until they finally told us there'd been a water leak. An emergency situation is understandable and I'm not bothered about that event, but the staff's handling of it was utterly poor. A question about needing to return to a hotel room, after several hours of waiting, to collect an inhaler for asthma, was met with grossly insensitive jokes about secretly taking ecstasy and then we were ignored. This whole ordeal largely amounted to the hot water being switched off, which then remained off for several days. One staff member teased we would get 'freebies' from the hotel as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience; this did not happen. The main hotel lifts became unusable and after being instructed to use the service lifts instead, a bartender charged towards us screaming and being unbelievably hostile, refusing to let us pass or listen to what other hotel staff had literally just informed us to do. His behaviour was diabolical, but he made no apologies for himself and excused himself from the conversation. It was outrageous seeing the entire hotel be displaced in such a clunky and slapdash way. Most of the hotel staf were rude, blunt and pompous. One single receptionist was polite and friendly, and that was the woman who checked us out. Every three or four hours someone was knocking at our door or entering our room for cleaning purposes; we could scarcely relax. We've never felt so harassed in a hotel. The hotel cups provided were barely fit for a gobful of drink and they even took away our only spoon to stir our drinks. The sanitisation standards of the hotel were inadequate, failing to provide basic antibacterial or hand soaps in rooms; I had to use a face soap to wash my hands and the red seating between the lobby and bar was heavily stained with black marks. The restaurant always seemed closed, tha bar never had more than three tables with customers, the bar layout was so cramped that I banged my leg trying to take a seat and the entire hotel decor was dreary and miserable. Most of the TV channels didn't work either. I think the only positives were having a free apple from the bowl in reception every day and ultimately leaving the hotel forever!

The heating was on in the room full blast when I entered — not very eco-friendly, and hard to cool down the room using the confusing room temperature controller. Furnishings felt a bit worn and out of date. For some reason, they put a second desk in the room, positioned at an awkward angle to the bed in front of the window, taking up floor space. Nothing of any interest in the surrounding area — if I didn’t have business in the area, I wouldn’t stay here. A high point was the breakfast buffet, which was very extensive, with many choices.

I have chosen this hotel beacause of the pool. I was really disappointed when it occured that water is terribly cold. The hotel staff was not very attentive. The only plus is the proximity to the airport.

We were at a Belgium GP, shuttling early morning and late evening to/from Spa Francorchamps. The location was great for the shuttle, and reception staff were friendly. What let me down however, was the smell of the cigarettes, and the noise at night. When we got back to the hotel, there were very loud parties going on. We did not report to the reception, since it seemed pointless. I could also hear phone conversations that went on for hours, as well as the noise of constant door shutting/banging from other rooms up/down. The room was clean but I could constantly smell the cigarettes in the room and on the sheets. I don’t know where the smell is coming from - either from the corridor or the vents, or the sheets - or whether I was supposed to specify a nonsmoking room.

Stayed for 2 nights on business..The hotel has a perfect location and is walking distance from Hauptbahnof..The rooms are of decent size..The breakfast menu is repetitive but the food quality is good..The staff is courteous and always available to serve you

I stayed over with my sister’s family. My nephew rated the hotel a 10 out of 10, as he enjoyed the stay and making the fresh pancakes at breakfast and getting the hot choco from the machine.

Ich bin eine gebürtige Essenerin und kenne deshalb das Hotel schon ewig. Die Lage ist zentral, gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof und mitten in der Stadt. Die Zimmer sind je nach Kategorie geräumig. Ich finde es toll, das man die Fenster öffnen kann. Auch die Betten sind bequem. Frühstück gegen Aufpreis, dort gibt es allerdings Verbesserungspotential. Trotzdem 100% Empfehlung

Always a good stay. Sometimes, during the night a little bit noisy, but is nothing. Next to the city centre, next to a shopping center, next to good restaurants, free parking in a garage and in the street... What else :)

Tout simplement un des meilleurs hôtels que j'ai fait par rapport a l'énorme qualités et très bon prix. Chambre très spacieuse et moderne, très propre, magnifique salle de bains moderne également. Petit dejeuner au top avec tout simplement tout ce que je peux aimer, bacon, oeuf brouiller, toast nutella et/ou confitures, beignets, gauffres.. Et j'en passe. Seul petit bemol, la machine a café/cacao, fonctionner mal, dommage.

This new hotel is centrally located in Essen (which is actually located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, not in Lower Saxony). It is situated close to the main railway station, shopping and restaurants. Parking is shared with the Moxy Hotel and available at EUR 15. The hotel is modern and has a large lobby area with comfy seating, part of which also serves as breakfast area. Our standard suite was spacious and clean and faced the courtyard, making it quiet and nice. Check-in was not up to usual Mariott standards, and we ended up in a smaller room than the corner suite, we had booked. However, we decided to stay in the standard suite, which turned out to be quieter, as it did not face the street. During our stay wifi was only available in the lobby area, which was really annoying. At check-out we were reimbursed by not having to pay for the parking. The breakfast was good without being great. The hotel is good, but the service we had did not meet usual Marriott standards.

Wow. What a trip that was to the Essen Spiel convention. And what an excellent hotel we have had the luck of booking a room into. Everything was top notch. We were given a room on the second floor, right across the elevator, in room 226. That was indeed super convenient, since for soundproofing, the windows were always shut, and I'm a smoker, so it made my outside trip to the smoking area easy. Everything in the room was where it should be. Plenty of sockets to plug our electronics in, a desk to put our convention stuff on and make our plans for the following day. Water pressure was spot on in the shower, all-in-one soap was naturally provided in a dispenser and filled daily. Room cleaning was done super meticulously in the morning and the cleaning people were nice and attentive when we happened to stumble upon them. All the staff we ran across were super nice and kind, even though we were always bugging them with annoying and trivial matters. The evening shift at the bar and reception really tried their best to satisfy our bothering demands. Hats off to them for putting up with us. I feel that we may have indeed tested their patience's limits. Despite all our best - or worst - but unintended in honesty - efforts to piss them off, they didn't even lose their smile. Great job, everyone! The cherry on top was the hotel's decision to open up a big room full of tables and chairs for the Spiel attendees to pass the night once the exhibition day was over. Really thoughtful and it's one of those small details that win people over. I'm looking forward to returning to the convention next year, and I'm sure I will be booking a room in this hotel alongside my plane and convention tickets. Keep it up, GHOTEL!

Had a great stay in Moxy Essen from 11/06/2023 – 14/06/2023. I was travelling around the Rhine Ruhr region with my friend (and we both have Marriott Gold elite status from staying in a Marriott for university). This hotel was in a great location right next to the HBF station in Essen and was clean and modern. The bar had a good vibe and we had free drinks on arrival. We used points for this stay, and the way that the points worked out meant that we had 2 different bookings over 3 nights, but this was not an issue and we managed to get the same room for the duration of our stay (we even got a bonus welcome drink for it)! I’m probably not going to do the hotel justice here, but it was a well laid out and stylish hotel with decent sized rooms. We had a twin room to share and the staff made extra effort so that we were on the quieter side of the building. We initially checked into the hotel at approximately 2pm, but decided to spend the afternoon in Wuppertal. When we arrived back on the first night. I had a shower, and there was no shampoo. No big deal, but I ended up going down to reception to ask for some. The man couldn’t find any shampoo, but about half an hour later, some appeared, I think he probably brought I from the shop as it wasn’t in the normal bright pink Moxy bottle, but it was really nice of him to make the effort. That day, the weather hit 32 degrees and whilst we were waiting for the shampoo, we tried to work out how the air conditioning worked. Between me and my friend that I was travelling with, we couldn’t work it out, so we asked the employee. However, between the 3 of us and Google we could not work it out. Anyway, I think we were the only people in the hotel that night as this was approximately midnight local time, and I think we went in every room in the corridor. To try and find one with working air con. All of them were empty! We eventually found one that wasn’t like a sauna and packed our stuff and moved. The employee was genuinely the nicest and most helpful employee I think I have ever seen in a hotel, very apologetic, but also very sociable. It was really nice to meet him as he was so happy to help. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name, but he had a ponytail I think and said he was Turkish. I think he will know who we are when he reads this! I saw him off duty in the bar the next night and thanked him. We even got 2 free breakfasts out of this!! The breakfast was good, though probably not worth the price we were told when we booked (I think it was about 15 euros but can’t remember as I have stayed in about 5 hotels in the past week and they have all rolled into one a bit). There was a few cooked items (Bacon & Scrambled Egg) and a few cold/ cereal items, but not loads. I probably wouldn’t recommend getting breakfast as all the Moxys allow a free coffee/ juice in the morning and a pastry, which is a nice touch. Overall, we really enjoyed our time in Germany and really liked our stay at the Moxy, so we would like to sa

The hotel was clean and nice, breakfast was good all though some in our party was missing bacon at the breakfast buffet. Check-in was a little slow, and during the night the drink serving was really slow. The reception seemed undermanned as one guy had to handle both the check ins and the bar. This made him unable to clear the tables from empty drinks. The waiting time at the bar was hardy ever less than 5 minutes.

In terms of logistics for Essen exhibition center is really a top choice Clean and wide rooms, fully equipped Good quality restaurant, we had 2 meals with self-service buffet, and we really enjoyed Receptionist and waiters kind and professional Relax area with spa and fitness room well maintained Rate was very high, about 250euro per night, but services and logistic will bring me back

這個價格在整個歐洲都算很便宜的了。 房間非常乾淨，雖然靠近火車站，但是附近很清凈。酒店的前台小哥服務態度非常好。不過房間的空間不算太大，衛生間比較小。

酒店離Essen中央火車站走路20分鐘，離步行街不遠，走路即達，停車在酒店自己的樓下也很方便。 停車費為17.5歐/每晚，稍貴了一些，停車費得預付不接受後付。估計這兩年歐洲通脹還是比較厲害，感覺物價都在飛漲，吃飯和住宿都在漲價。
