Where to begin with this one? Firstly i requested to cancel as i was coming down with COVID like symptoms. Ramada Telford seem to not mind that though, so that request was denied (no offer of another stay, or partial refund, nothing). Felt better day of, and decided to travel. On check-in (nor on the website, photo attached) i wasn't told anything about the pool being out of service. Turns out it was. No offer of a full or partial refund. Nothing. Luckily, Trip have stepped in with a good will gesture. Spoke to some people (named below) by email afterwards and basically told ”nothing they can do” and ”it's trip's fault” that the website didn't reflect that their pool had been out of action since DECEMBER. We arrived quite late and booked the most expensive room type, which looked nothing like the photos. The funny thing was that the shower gel in the bathroom was empty, and the tissue box was also empty.

Second visit to Lion Quays. Excellent Hotel/ Spa Beautiful area Rooms are clean & the views are wonderful of the Langollen Canal. We ate in the restaurant, had burger & fries, it was honestly the Best Burger ever !! The Staff are very friendly & it was a lovely touch that they had remembered us from our previous visit, that means a lot & you feel a valued customer. Would definitely recommend & will definitely return very soon.

The swimming pool was nice. The service was good. Dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids was around £50 (two courses) and the food was nice as well. If you are IHG member, you can check out at 12 noon.

The room had alot including a fridge, iron, iron board, cooling fan, hair dryer. The spa had an ice room steam rooms saunas heated pool and a few other spa treats I've forgot lol really good stay the breakfast is a buffet continental plus English breakfast.

Room services communication needs to be addressed. It was difficult to communicate with Reception as the phone kept ringing. Tv and fridge not working in one of the rooms. Unfortunately, this was not communicated .Staff very friendly, and facility looked perfectly clean.I can go back for another romantic vacation with my wife if I get the chance.

The post code given on the hotel address did not lead us to the Hotel. It was difficult to find as it was inside an estate. The hotel is not close to the road. The sign at the road entrance is not very prominent. When arriving at the hotel, the building looks like a manor of some royalties which was quite impressive. Check in was smooth but there wasn't a lift and we had to haul our heavy luggage up a couple flight of stairs and through narrow corridors. No porters or conceige to help was a bit annoying. The breakfast was standard full english breakfast which was as expected. Lawn areas and many big trees around the hotel does provide a relaxing feel. There is a separate building that houses the pool and gym. This facility was not exclusive for hotel guest and open to people who join their club. Unfortunetely on the day of my stay, there were many people there and so I gave it a miss.

Overall wasnt a great stay, ill keep it short and sweet and list positives and negatives rather than go into detail Positives - All staff friendly and helpful, nice location, if you can book a deluxe room so you get a first floor room with outside table and chairs and a view of the golf course. Treatment and spa faciltes were good though theres no jaqoozi. Comfy bed! Negatives - Organisation, i had spa day and lunch, it wasnt explained about where lunch was or what was included i had to ask all the questions. I wasnt told the £15 limit for lunch so i went over and they then expected me to pay the difference but they agreed it was unfair. Room cleanliness, bathroom wasnt great, nail clippings on floor and 100’s of small hairs all around the bath after someones shave! Room was very warm and it wasnt even that hot outside, take a fan in hot weather! Food prices very high for what you get, nothing special! Took 30 mins to get my drink at dinner and 65 mins to get my burger and chips, apparantly staff were off sick and there was a new bar man who delayed drinks I wouldnt go back for the price you have to pay and what you get
