The main reason I booked this hotel was because it is part of an international hotel chain and is rated as a 4-star property. However, I was very surprised by the building condition and the quality of the renovations. What made this even more disappointing is that the hotel has been open for less than a year. Given that it is a newly opened property, I expected everything to be in excellent condition. Instead, I felt that the hotel was not fully completed and may have been opened in a rush. There were still many areas that appeared unfinished and in need of touch-ups and further renovation work. Another issue was the shower’s hot water supply, which was very unstable. Even after setting the temperature to a comfortable level, the water would frequently fluctuate between hot and cold without warning. At times, it became unexpectedly too hot or too cold, making the shower experience quite unpleasant. Overall, my stay was disappointing. The hotel’s condition and facilities did not meet the standards I would expect from a 4-star international hotel, especially one that has been operating for less than a year.

Everything was pretty good overall, but after a long journey, when I went to check in, the receptionist caused some issues. After getting the room key and heading to the room, we found someone already inside. We then had to wait about 30 minutes for clarification. How can a receptionist not know if a room is occupied or not? Ugh!

One recommendation for bringing the family, the place is nice, the atmosphere is like a village and the swimming pool rides are also quite good for children and families

This hotel is strategically located in the center of Pontianak, with walkable distance to Ayani Megamall & Museum Kalimantan Barat. Check-in was a breeze, room was clean, except for the bathroom, where there were noticeable black mold near to the shower heads. The experience of showering was not that good, due to the unfavourable scene of the black mold, and also, damp smell whenever I entered the shower cabin. I also went to the spa, while the massage is decent, the person-in-charge made comments like - well, I am not a cashier, so I don't have change. To which, I feel like it is a bit not professional.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars HARRIS Hotel Pontianak scores with a good location, friendly staff and an overall solid package. The public areas look modern and well maintained, and both check‑in and check‑out were efficient and helpful. The point deduction is for the bed: the linens were freshly made but had visible stains, and the mattress underneath was clearly soiled – this is where the hotel urgently needs to improve its quality standards. With spotless bedding and a renewed or thoroughly cleaned mattress, this property would easily be a 5‑star choice within its category for me.

The hotel is really good, impressed by its good infrastructures, great breakfast and good services. However, there were some points deducting aspects. The disgusting black stains at edge of the wash basin, the water stained tissues and the worst of the lot, the faeces chocked toilet bowls in male toilet of the dining area was a real turnoff.

The place is comfortable, clean, and you get a bonus swimming ticket.

AC in the room was hot, even though already set down16c. Wifi not working at all inside the room, only at the dining area you can use it. Food was so so, but Price abit premium. Receptionist quite friendly and helpful.
