Traveling to Kobe with my parents, choosing Portopia Hotel was definitely the right decision! First off, they have a shuttle bus that makes getting to and from Sannomiya super convenient. Secondly, the hotel exudes an old-school luxury, with thoughtful design evident everywhere. The extra bed was incredibly comfortable, and the restaurant offers amazing views. My only regret is that we had to leave the rooftop observation deck quickly due to strong winds.

It's been a while since I got back from my trip, but thinking back about the Hotel La Suite Kobe Harborland, it definitely has its unique charm. My room offered a great view of THE KOBE's iconic landmark, and I enjoyed evening strolls along the seaside every night. The morning views were also absolutely stunning. However, the room and hotel facilities felt a bit dated. The overall service was decent enough, and a convenient shuttle bus to Sannomiya runs about every half hour.

Stunning views, almost all rooms face west towards the bridge and sunset. Excellent location, the beach is right in front, but you have to cross under tracks and highway, 5-6 min walk after you exit the escalator. Beds in adjoining rooms are large, we could easily fit a family of 6 in 2 rooms, and you even add extra beds if needed.

Grand Mercure Awaji Island boasts unparalleled sea views of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the Seto Inland Sea. Its excellent location, however, makes it best suited for guests traveling by car. Our sea-view room was spacious and comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows that made the morning sea sunrise a daily spectacle. Both breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety of dishes; we especially recommend the Awaji Island milk and local onion specialties. However, dining options nearby are limited, meaning you'll likely rely on the hotel's restaurant for dinner. Without a car, finding other dining spots would require a taxi. The hotel service was attentive, and the front desk staff spoke fluent English, providing helpful guides to local attractions. While the rooftop open-air hot spring bath isn't natural, it was uncrowded, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing with its sea views. On the downside, the facilities are a bit dated, and there's a noticeable lack of family-friendly entertainment options. Overall, this hotel is ideal for guests seeking serene sea views and a relaxed pace, offering particularly excellent value for money during the off-season.

We rented a villa-style house with an open-air bathtub. The room was very spacious and stylishly designed. We had to walk to the hot spring in the main building at night (it was average), but we were given a coupon for the ”Jikkai no Yu” hot spring (in the same resort). This hot spring was very large and beautiful, with complete facilities, and is worth recommending.

It’s very nice view from the balcony and felt relax all the time.Also it’s quiet and comfortable bed so I fell in asleep in the middle of the night. I love this atmosphere around the hotel cuz there’re ocean and flower park nearby the place so I could relax hearing the sound of ocean waves in the night. Definitely I would love to come back here again.

Almost a perfect stay. First off, having a 12 PM checkout in Japan is already a huge plus. We arrived around 8 PM the night before, and the front desk staff were still in great spirits. The room was quite spacious for Japanese standards, and the view from the window was absolutely stunning, with the night view being even more captivating than during the day. The only slight downside was the breakfast; for 3800 JPY per person, the selection wasn't very extensive, though the taste was decent enough.

The breakfast buffet featured a variety of healthy Japanese options, which I found both satisfying and nourishing. Additionally, the view of Kobe Tower from my room was a charming highlight. The hotel's design reflects a refined minimalistic luxury, creating an elegant and calming environment. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a blend of comfort and traditional Japanese hospitality.

Since it's part of the Hotel New Awaji Group, I was glad to be able to use the large public baths at other hotels in the group. I heard that you can travel by boat or use the shuttle bus until 6:30 PM, so you can go empty-handed, and I would definitely recommend it to my friends. The customer service from the hotel staff was also excellent.

Stay for one night with breakfast included, and have dinner outside at a pub or bar. Since it was a weekday, there weren't many restaurants open, but I searched for it on Google and went to an izakaya. On the way home, we took a detour to a bar district and took a break at the hotel before heading to the public bath. The breakfast buffet style was satisfying with many items. Next time I would like to go with a plan that allows me to eat dinner in my room.
