Love the facilities, especially the communal kitchen. Good proximity to the airport. Staff are friendly and helpful. Checkin and checkout were a breeze.

It's very convenient place when we had a early flight. The room was perfect larger and with two sides of windows.

Beds comfortably, clean tidy, quiet rooms, very central location to CBD, staff helpful and friendly, facilities good, good resteraunt food for dinner and good breakfast buffet. Rooms and bathroom acceptable size for solo business trip. A tall person might not like the bed set up. The quality of the room service food could be improved soggy toasted sandwich and over cooked pizza pricey for what I got. All in all great 2 night stay. Suited my requirements

The female dorm room (4) was awesome. There were plenty of outlets to charge devices, plenty of storage for each person's luggage, comfy and spotless beds, and the room was super warm in winter! The hostel is quiet and modern, with gorgeous views across Lake Tekapo and a brilliant lounge with beanbags and sofas overlooking the view. The staff were super lovely and helpful. The bathrooms and kitchen were very clean. The location is right in the centre of the town near to the supermarket and Dark Sky Project centre.

It's my last stop before I fly back home for good after a 2 weeks holiday in NZ. It's a total disaster experience as the lady restaurant manager (working on 23 May 2023, 9pm), was plain rude when I approached her politely wanting to ask her whether the restaurant was still operating since it was late already. She was then holding a tray of empty cups, gave me a stare, and whispered an insincere 'sorry' with a frustrated facial and dashed right past me. Mind you, there was only 1 table of 2 guests in the entire restaurant. Not wanting to spoil our mood further, I have decided to walk away calmly, be the bigger self, and head to the bar instead. Honestly, it was totally not the busiest day since it's a Tuesday evening, the bartender was so impatient in trying to wait for us to make our orders (we are only ordering 2 drinks my dear), he wasn't helpful in trying to provide alternative (since one of the drinks we wanted is OOS) or wait for JUST another minute for us to look through the short food menu quickly to decide what food we wanted to add on to our order. He quickly decided to push us to the restaurant if we wanted food. Hello? If we were ordering drinks at the bar, why would we want to order bar food to eat at the restaurant? Perhaps we aren't looking too groomed to garner his prestigious service that's why he was pushing us away? My goodness... this is the worst ever experience I had in my entire stay here. Every other accommodation service staff we have met was friendly, polite, and treats us with loving respect. I honestly do not expect a reputable hotel to have such horrible service.

I had an amazing stay at Peppers, which is located so close to the lake—it's incredibly convenient! The location made it easy to explore the surrounding area. The highlight of our stay, however, was the fantastic staff. A special shout-out to Aggie Sami, who went above and beyond to assist us. We accidentally left some of our belongings at the hotel, and Aggie was kind enough to arrange delivery all the way to Queenstown for us. Their helpfulness and attention to detail really made our experience memorable. Highly recommend staying here for both the location and exceptional service!

I must commend your front desk team for their warm and friendly service throughout my stay. They were attentive and accommodating, making me feel welcome and valued as a guest. However, I regret to share that my experience with the housekeeping teams left me feeling disappointed. My Friend and I had made a specific and personal request, both directly with the housekeeping staff and through the front desk, to have our room cleaned during our stay. Unfortunately, upon returning to our room, we were shocked to find a ”do not disturb” tag hanging on the door, indicating that the room had not been attended to. I understand that errors can occur in any establishment, and I believe this was a process oversight rather than a deliberate neglect. Nevertheless, I felt the need to bring this matter to your attention. These small irritants can have a lasting impact on a guest's experience, and I sincerely hope that your management will take this feedback constructively to prevent such incidents in the future. I truly enjoyed my overall stay at your hotel, but I believe that addressing such issues will elevate your services to an even higher level of excellence. Stayed at Fino in a 2 bedroom corporate apartment with a colleague for three nights to attend a conference. I will start by saying the location was excellent as our conference was across the road. PROS: The reception staff were outstanding and extremely polite. The apartment was a good size and worked well having two bathrooms. The kitchen had everything you needed for a short stay. CONS: Bathrooms - grouting between the tiles was filthy, no where to hang your towel except over the toilet - yuk, the toiletries on the web page were not what you got - cheap dispensers on the wall of the bathroom that were empty so no way to wash ourselves on the first morning as there was no body wash nor soap. Had to ask twice and chase the cleaners to get them filled with poor quality product. No where to put your toothbrush or toiletries except to close the toilet seat and use that - yuk. The shower in the ensuite was in a very high sided bath and the shower head was so low that I had to get on my knees to wash my hair (I am only 5 foot 4). The main bathroom shower over the bath was broken and while my colleague was trying to shower very hot water was coming out the bath tap burning her feet - we brought this to the attention of the reception staff who said it would be fixed while we were out - but it wasn't. Bedrooms: no power points (in the entire apartment) that are close to a mirror to use hair dryer. Bedding was clean. General: apartment very sad and needs a good revamp. Lots of marks on the walls, missing paint, worn carpet, uncomfortable couch, damaged benchtop in the kitchen, very few coffee sachets left (enough for one weak coffee each). Had to ask to get more. We paid over $300 a night for this run down apartment with few amenities. Apart from the nice reception staff and the location I could not recommend. The pictures on the website do not represent what you are getting.

They are not attached to a bed head and are an ensemble base only so they move around. I had a better sleep in a motel in Timaru, which is a shame because working 10 hour days, staying in a 5* hotel, one would think you'd sleep like a baby. Fortunately the shower's high pressure and the bath were great, Apart from that, the hotel grounds is beautiful with ample parking. My room had a veranda which I liked to sit on and watch the traffic go by. I had requested a microwave so as to meal prep due to my diabetes and this was in there prior to check in which was great. Hotel is just around the corner from a heap of restaurants and Westfield Ricccarton and right next to Hagley Park which was great for a morning walk. In room dining was fine, nothing special. I tried the breakfast buffet in the restaurant on the Saturday and it was lacklastre. Didn't end up going back. Plenty of cafes around anyway. All up, I rate my stay there 4*. The facilities were great, the requests were met eagerly and the bathroom was fantastic. The room itself is really well appointed but the bed is awful which detracts a star. I'd stay there again with my wife though, maybe bring some *****s to attach to the bed legs to stop them from moving around though!

The manager Sourab was very welcoming helpful and generous. He had helpful information about the town and eateries, was very kind to allow us access to a clothes drier as the motel one was having issues and generously went over and above his role to help us.. the motel was comfortable and clean close to town and the local pools and golf course, we have been here twice now and would highly recommend it. The restaurant next door also provides breakfast until 10am and midday and evening meals, the quality is good and fairly priced.

Fantastic spot, had a lovely time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend for anyone staying in the area. Beds were comfortable and showers were clean. You can walk around to restaurants closeby

Room was very comfortable and clean. good facilities. TV was amazing. Lots to choose from on it. Microwave for cooking supplied. Fridge also. Washing facilities if required and all Free! Staff were amazing. So very accommodating. Listening to all your needs and running with all your requirements. Very friendly team. Beds are very comfortable. Situated within walking distance of hospital and lots of places to eat around as well. A mall is not far away. Prices to stay were excellent.

I stayed at this hotel again principally because it is an Accor property in the CBD (as I am an ALL Platinum) - but that is really about it. The hotel is passable for what one expects of a Novotel, but it is getting quite dated and the carpet stains in the room are too pointed a reminder of the hotel's age. The bed is soft and the generous number of pillows and cushions make for a very comfy night in. While it is in the CBD, it is a fair walk from most places of note in the city. Since my previous visit, the reception staff have improved in service and manner. I was disappointed that as I left a shirt in my room's cupboard, I had to call a few times to follow up on its search as the promised return call did not come until I called again (the shirt was never found). What is most disappointing is the restaurant. While the quality of the food is acceptable, it is quite overpriced for Christchurch and the restaurant's setting. Despite only having a handful of tables for dinner, I had to approach the wait staff when I wanted a table, to order, get a drink, or receive the check. Similarly, the bar staff are not as proactive as one may expect to come to tables and take drink orders, even when one is the only patron at the bar. My biggest complaint is the breakfast. On one of the mornings I even had to set my own table. Empty juice dispensers are not refilled for quite some time; the only eggs served are scrambled, the only non-meat ”hot” offering are potatoes and beans. Perhaps there is is a concern that some patrons are allergic to tomatoes, green leaves, salad, vegetables, and mushrooms? After two nights I moved to another hotel in Christchurch and am much happier.

Booked 1 night accommodation through an on-line booking site (Expedia). Unfortunately there was a problem with the booking in that they hadn't included my child in the booking so the accommodation booked (motel room) could only accommodate 2 people. Thankfully the staff were fantastic and managed to find us an alternative option for no extra cost. The cabin we stayed in was fantastic and the place has undergone a massive upgrade since we last stayed here in 2011. The cabin was clean, cosy and we had everything we needed for our staff. Great BBQ available outside of the cabin which we made use of for dinner & brekkie and location is superb. An adventure when travelling with a 6 year old as accommodation felt very safe. (lots of families around due to scholl holidays). Easy 5 min stroll to Tekapo Hot Springs. Would recommend and advise to just book directly with the accommodation rather than an on-line secondary service.

The oldest hotel at Tekapo and very close to Shepherds Church. Don't worry about the hotel is sharply, it's classic rather. I like it. England classic style. Overall I have a memorable stay here.

The lodge is in a beautiful location overlooking the lake and a short walk to town. The room was spacious and airy with large glass doors filling the room with light. There was space to sit outside to enjoy the view. The room was spotless and well equipped. There was a large bathroom. A suggestion would be to have bulk toiletries rather than the waste of little plastic bottles. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We chose the upstairs family room with a view, we were not disappointed, a view straight down the lake, wow. The beds were comfortable, we had enough room for all of us, kitchen was adequate and the large bathroom was good. The lady in reception was very helpful with recommendations for dinner, breakfast, activities not just in Tekapo but around the MacKenzie Country. We have recommended this place to family and friends already, you will not be disappointed.

I took my daughter to Hanmer for a birthday treat. We decided to stay at the Hamner Springs hotel because it looks lovely from the outside. I’m afraid to say it was nothing like that on the inside! The first room they put us in on the top floor was dark and musty. We tried to open one of the doors in the room and the handle completely broke off. They then put us in room 108 on the bottom floor - it was sold to us as a king deluxe room. It was anything, but that besides, the room being tired the TV didn’t work, the extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work. The shower pipe fell off the wall while I was showering and all the light switches were connected, so you could not turn off particular lights when you wanted. We ordered room service from the in-house restaurant. We had a seafood pasta, which was totally average. The Greek salad had no fetta or olives- when we complained, they return the salad with some sprinkled feta on the top. The whole thing was a total disappointment, the hotel is shabby and tired!. I gave it a two star rating because the staff were helpful and very friendly. Besides, that I would give this place a total miss so sad because I have stayed there in the past, and it was super.🥲

I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting this to be a 5 star place, but there were a lot of things that were definitely not 5 stars. The robes were grey and didn't cover bigger people. One of them had pilling all over it, I didn't want to even wear it. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, so if one person got up to the toilet in the middle of the night, it woke the other person up. There were instructions on how to use the spa bath, but not on how to put the plug in. It didn't just plug in normally. We weren't able to use it on our first night which was very frustrating as it was one of our main attractions. I rang housekeeping the next day. Someone came and had a look and said that you had to turn a know on the side of the spa, how would anyone know that? The lock on the door to outside was broken and a small slide lock had been put on. Why not fix the main lock? I used the toilets to the side of the library and when I washed my hands, the tap was all loose and wobbled round. All these things are little but show that the lodge needs to have things fixed or updated. For $300 per night, you expect the best. The worse thing was on our last morning, we got to breakfast about 8:45, the restaurant closes at 9:30 am. There was continental and scrambled eggs and bacon. At about 9:00 am they stopped bringing out anymore bread to toast. No more croissants, eggs or bacon were brought out. There were about 6 tables with guests and everyone kept going up and checking, but they didn't refill. People were saying, they must have run out of food! But for some reason the waiter kept lifting the lids to the egg and bacon to see what was in there, but of course there was nothing as he hadn't refilled it and he was the only waiter!! I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it, unless you are getting a really good discount.

We had researched where to stay in Hanmer Springs and Settlers consistently showed as a good choice. Sometimes what you expect and what you get are very different, but I have to say the excellent reviews are certainly warranted. The motel is in a great location, the room was spotless and well equipped, and the owners were lovely. Having towels to use when visiting the hot pools was a really nice touch too. We would definitely stay here if ever this way again, and would not hesitate in recommending Settlers.

What a lovely surprise 👍 with a super friendly greeting. There is a commercial grade kitchen available for guests that is fully kitted out with cooking gear, hot plates and ovens, microwaves, a coffee machine and so on. Big lounge area with a mix of tables and soft furnishings, tv, games and similar plus outdoor courtyard with tables and BBQ. Had a relaxed night cooking some local chorizo and Zuchinni with Italian gnocchi and a tomato and basil sauce enjoyed with a bottle of Hawkes Bay Syrah. Rooms are modern and well equipped and while not huge have everything you need with the lounge and kitchen facilities available. Highly recommended if you are visiting Hanmer Springs 😆

This has to be one of our favourite motels in NZ. It is modern and very well located. The sun streams in all day (when available!). The host has upgraded us to a three bedroom unit the last two times we have stayed. Very spacious with a wet floor shower, super comfortable bed and excellent heating. It is only a 400M walk to the hot pools and is close to restaurants and cafes. The unit has a well equipped kitchen. We will stay again.

Perfect for a short stay!

Modern, clean and very comfortable, we were glad we booked here. Easy walking to the town and the springs if you are going. In particular the lady running the property during our stay was incredibly personable and helpful. Only minor point of criticism is the notice on fines for leaving any strong cooking smells in the room - I totally appreciate the point but perhaps the lack of any extractor fan over the stovetop is also part of the issue here.

Popped up to Hanmer Springs for Easter. Been years since we visited ad golly the town has grown. Stayed up at Alpine Holiday Park (Use to be the old AA Motor Camp in the day). Couples trip with two camper buses and we took ot two dogs. We had a ball!! The hosts were very friendly, even to suggesting the best way for Evan to park his 11m bus and the two adjoining sites were both of a good size and were sunny. The toilets and showers were spotless, an there's no charge for the showers with ample hot water, and while we didn't use the the kitchens and family games room looked to be excellent. For those not camping or in campers there is a lodge accommodating up to 40 plus motel rooms/cabins. Children on site were well catered for with pedal carts and a decent sized play ground area. The camp is a wee distance out of town; no issue with an e-bike, but it makes up for that by being lovely and peaceful. Ideal for a long weekend break.
