The lady at the front desk was very friendly and enthusiastic when we checked in, asking if we needed a map and briefly explaining the surrounding routes.
The water pressure in the bathroom was a bit low, and switching between the showerhead settings required some guesswork.
Breakfast had a decent variety of choices.
It's only about a ten-minute walk from the Guggenheim Museum and the airport bus stop. It would have been better if they had provided information about the airport bus service being suspended on May 1st, as we checked out on Labor Day and waited at the bus stop for over half an hour for nothing.

Guest UserIt was a pleasant stay, parking is free and easy scross the road which is a bonus.
Although this place is attached to another hotel which is much more impressive, it makes you jealous you are not there!

Beautiful hotel, amazing facilities to work from, one of the best gyms that I’ve been to, it would have been so much more seamless if parking, gym etc were included in the price. Especially if the pool provided by the gym is not available, not having to pay for the gym one would make more sense

Shiow ChinLocation is a bit out of the city centre, but located in a peaceful area (contrastingly) next to a forest and a biotech hub. However, a bus stop a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel has a service that goes directly to the Boulevard located between the Old Town and the City Centre (85sen per trip or cheaper with the San Sebastian Card - available at the hotel) within 25 mins (or slightly longer with traffic).
My room was comfortable and clean, although it might be a bit tight for space with 2 people. Bed was comfortable with pillows of various firmness.
Bathroom was big and well-designed, although the shower and bath might be a bit tight for larger people. Shower pressure was excellent.
Tip: Open the drawer under the sink to dispose your garbage and recyclables.
Staff were all friendly, polite and helpful.
My only complaint is that my water was never refilled throughout my stay, but I admit I did not ask about it at the time.

We came here without a car having got busses from Bilbao. Not easy finding a hotel with a pool and within LaGuardia so worked perfectly. Arguably not a four star but was comfortable and and pool was lovely.
Would recommend for the price

Guest UserI stayed at Axel San Sebastián for a solo trip and was absolutely delighted by the warm hospitality and friendly vibes.
My trip started with a bit of a crisis; I left my luggage on an intercity bus and had a restaurant reservation overlapping with the pick-up time. I was quite overwhelmed, but staff member Tanja was a true lifesaver. She went above and beyond to help me arrange the luggage pick-up and even communicated with the restaurant to reschedule my reservation. Thanks to her incredible support, the rest of my stay in Donostia was seamless and wonderful.
The hotel itself is neat, modern, and has a very inviting atmosphere with a fabulous, stylish touch. I also thoroughly enjoyed the jacuzzi. Between the best service I've ever received and the great energy from fellow guests, I’m leaving Donostia with the best memories. Thank you so much, Tanja and the Axel team! 😊

Hotel is in a great location, close to shopping district and close to bars and eateries.
Rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom had a shower and a bath which is unusual but well received. About 20 mins in a taxi from Bilbao airport.
Service was good at check in/out.
Roof top bar is a nice offer with a variety of drinks.
I would stay here again.

Guest UserWhat an amazing hotel, the staff were most friendly and helpful. Its proximity to the old town makes this a must stay location. The breakfast was spectacular and the rooftop pool and bar were fabulous. Overall an excellent location and will be a repeat stay for me in the future.

María “Alicante “A great hotel, both for its location and its services. The reception staff were incredibly friendly, as was the cleaning staff. The breakfast buffet was very varied, featuring high-quality local products. We will definitely return on our next visit to Durango.

New hotel very clean nice rooms and wonderful pool.
It’s 25 min walk to the Centro but there is a bus for two euro and tax 9 euro, in the evening it’s hard te get a taxi and find the bus. WE had to walk back twice.
The door locks make a very hard nice which awakes you in the morning
