Service sometimes take time and manning doesn't know what to do, TV not working at all without any advise until asked, cleanliness is average due to age of the hotel and the food inconsistent to quality and public health standard.

Beyond these, however, there aren't many activities to keep you occupied, so it’s a space that caters more to relaxation and personal time, often spent in your room. Overall, Dusit D2 is ideal for a serene stay but might feel a bit too quiet for those who easily get bored. More in improvement on the food please, there’s no menu that sticks out or you want to try again.

From the moment we arrived at Dusit Thani Residence Davao, we felt welcomed and well-taken care of. The lobby, though modest in size, exuded a calm charm and the check-in process was smooth. We were greeted warmly by staff who treated us with genuine hospitality — their attentiveness set the tone for our entire stay. Many previous guests also praised the staff’s politeness and readiness to help.  We stayed in a studio apartment, and it was nothing short of comfortable. The room came with a kitchenette, a coffee/tea maker, minibar, and free WiFi — extremely convenient whether you’re staying briefly or planning a longer stay.  The modern fittings and thoughtful layout made it easy to relax or be productive: there was enough space to move around, and everything was clean and well-kept. Cleanliness, indeed, stood out during our stay — a point frequently echoed by other guests.  One of the highlights was the leisure amenities. We took full advantage of the outdoor swimming pool — a serene little oasis perfect for a morning dip or evening unwind. Some guests mentioned that certain rooms felt a bit cramped or that balcony areas were under-utilized due to cleanliness concerns.  There were occasional gripes about maintenance — for example, shower drains draining slowly or small furniture quirks — and a few found the elevator access between towers a bit awkward, especially if coming from parking.  A minority even felt the place fell short of 5-star expectations in certain respects.  Still, for us, these were minor blemishes compared to the overall positive experience. What stood out was how the hotel blends comfort, convenience, and courteous service with enough extras to feel like more than just a “place to sleep.” The pool, spa, and kitchen-equipped rooms make it a strong choice for families, couples, business travellers — essentially anyone who values a balance of luxury and practicality. It has a beautiful garden. The food in the restaurant is nice. Seats are inside in a Filipino style room, outside you can enjoy the spacious lush garden while have lunch/dinner. The rooms are large, beds comfortable. It is a bit older but the Charme of this resort is stunning. There is a shuttle boat to beaches at Samal island. Short ride to malls, with grab no problem at all. The breakfast is solid. I would say this was my best stay in Davao.

Ambiance rooms are perfect they enjoyed their stay for 1 night.

Everything is great, the pool is huge and clean, lifeguard always on duty and towels are always available. Room is modern and nice.The only thing I will complain is their food ( breakfast buffet) there is a lot of flies touching the fruits and deserts. We were setting right in the corner of the desert table and flies are everywhere.I even asked the employee that the flies touches desert and she said okay I will tell them.Person came and put a candle and thats it.I will suggest that pls assigned somebody to watch the fruits and deserts or any food thats open with out covers cause flies touches everywhere! Food is okay but not bad. The breakfast buffet for a children 7 to up is about 2,000 which is very pricey. I asked about it and one of them explain that how the rate is because my daughter is considered a extra person already and that 2k is included with extra bed so I asked the extra bed to put it out in our room.Still very expensive and no ala carte menu available for breakfast so you have no choice lol. These are one of the flies that i cut off the legs beachse it was roaming in our table..

I found as a regular traveller that the Hotel was dated and not well supplied with plates or cutlery. I notified a staff member about the extremely noisy and disturbing exhaust fan in the on suite of room 112. Nothing done and never had any further discussion by any staff member. We had decided to stay a further night that wasn't booked online and had to pay more pesos even though we stayed 4 nights previously. Don't think I will stay here again and not likely to make an recommendations.

Highly satisfied with the upgraded premier room that we got. Their breakfast buffet has lots of food choices. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.

First time in Davao and Samal Island.The location is very near the wharf.The staff were friendly and helpful.Woke up very early and they were already cleaning the pool and surrounding areas for the guests.We had a good time in the pool and a little walking in the beach.

Good location just the back of SM city.Nice and clean condo.Can cook as they provide utensils and cook ware and stove.Definitely loved to be back here again next time
