Hotel Dengan Spa di Daerah Castelo Branco, Portugal

Muito bom atendimento no check in, quarto normal, fantástico pequeno almoço sem nada a apontar, restaurante com muito boa qualidade, super serviço de bar de piscina , um animador sempre atento, divertido, simpático e com animação de manhã e à tarde de ”aqua gim”, musica ao vivo algumas tardes e para finalizar a noite de discoteca para dançar e descontrair.

Staff excecional, sempre disponíveis para ajudar! quartos ótimos e, no nosso caso que tínhamos 2 crianças, comunicantes. Parque de estacionamento perto e com acesso direto ao 7 andar do Hotel ( ficamos alojados no 8 andar). Conceito muito ”saudável” com acesso incluído ao ginásio e spa ( por favor levem roupa de banho!) Pequeno almoço 5 estrelas, nem sempre disponível em hotéis de melhores cotações ( quase que vale a pena só ficar neste hotel pelo pequeno almoço e staff!)

We stayed here because we heard that the spa was interesting. And it is -it's presented in a fun way with caves and pools and very good saunas, steam rooms and showers, though it has more of a fun holiday atmosphere than a truly restorative 'serious' Spa. We stayed at the hotel and the room was comfortable. Most if the staff were friendly, and the quality of the food was great, the buffet breakfast deserves a special mention because there is EVERYTHING on offer - really excellent. Tarnishing the experience a bit was the fact that we met one waiter who essentially flounced off because we said we couldn't speak Portuguese, and could be heard mockingly (and quite loudly) echoing us by saying 'we don't speak Portuguese' to his colleague. The colleague then dutifully came over and served us very politely and pleasantly in English, but we were left feeling a bit unwanted and out of place to be honest -its simply nit feasible to speak every language! So, a bit of a mixed bag but definitely worth a try if you're in the area.

We stayed at this hotel in October 2022. We had room #214. The good : Check-in was fast. The staff at the lobby is great. Friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, there is a mini-fridge and a safe in the room. No carpet. Nice bathroom with good water pressure in the shower. The room has a strange configuration with the window being at an angle but it is still very functional. You can open the window. Comfortable bed. Reliable Wi-Fi. USB ports available in the room. Grocery store about 10 minutes away walking. Breakfast buffet is good although the selection is limited. The bad : Nothing really bad to say about this place beside that the room we got was smaller than usual, but not a problem for us. I would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent facilities, wonderful view and a mouthwatering breakfast. Hard to believe it is only 4stars, should be 5. I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Castelo Branco or somewhere nearby. Lovely town btw.

I went to this hotel with family and it was a great experience. The facilities were good although they have some older elements. The restaurant food was good. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel's highlight is the stunning view, which perfectly completes the pool area.

My son and me stayed 2 days in Fonta Santa. It was a very pleasant stay. First, the people were very, very kind and helpful! The food was excellent and honest priced. The room perfect. Swimming pool fine ( we like to swim in cold water at that time!). We will come back! Dr Reinoud Slagter and son

O atendimento foi excelente e o pequeno almoço também, apesar dos acessos para o mesmo não terem sido claros. O hotel tem bons estabelecimentos e está bem localizado, contudo podia estar melhor conservado no geral.

What a wonderful place to stay, I had stayed here before with friends on a Moto Tour so knew what to expect, my expectations were surpassed, it’s a really lovely place to stay. On this trip I was with my wife, I had talked up Convento Da Serta before arrival and we both agreed the out of 9 good hotels on our Spain & Portugal Tour this was the best by far. * Chaves as a town has character, charm and is very pleasant to walk around. * Convento Da Serta, is in a prime position, elevated above the old town * There are good bars and restaurants within easy walking distance * The hotel itself is a charming and a very well adapted stone built Convent, there is a small pool, easy parking on site, the rooms are excellently appointed with good views over the town some have small private balconies all have Air Con. The staff are very attentive and both eager to please and keen to help you get the best out of your stay at the hotel and the area surrounding the town if you have time to explore. * Breakfast service was freshly prepared, presented well and staffed to cope with the demand, the food itself was very good. * The restaurant recommendations were spot on we chose one that was recommended it was lovely (see separate review, for Ponte Romano)

We like a quiet hotel but this place is dead. It's an interesting building and well preserved, but...... We had a good balcony with a stunning view but don't assume - most rooms have no outside space whatsoever. The flashy electric blinds were fine but the electric curtains on the other windows/doors were jammed shut. Reported, but no change in the week we were here. The little tables are a joke - tiny drawers with too little storage. We are in Portugal for 2 weeks so we have a lot of luggage. The restaurant is expensive and our first dinner was very good. The menu is not huge and it was the same every single day. I ordered cheese in filo pastry with salad and the cheese was wrapped in greaseproof paper inside the pastry. Not a small amount but a big sheet of paper. 2 courses and a single glass of wine = €82. There were no refreshments near the outdoor poolside, despite a stand marked ”Bar”. My husband went to reception (c150m) and was told the bar would be opened. Back he came (150m). 40minutes later he returned to reception (150m) to be told that the bar would not be opened and he should carry 2 coffees 150m back, down steps and across the undulating gardens. He is 74 years old. The weather wasn't great and there is NOTHING to do. A few books on the shelves, 3 in English, no board games, no evening entertainment at all. Nowhere to walk to in safety, not even the tatty-looking cafe a few hundred yards up the road. Almost all the personnel were friendly and polite but it was obvious that the hotel is woefully understaffed. There is seldom anyone present behind the bar during the evening. I even saw one frustrated guest help himself! And diabetics like me beware, the only sugar-free mixer is Coca-Cola, so good luck getting to sleep full of caffeine. There are several families here so be prepared for children running around the dining room shouting and screaming, even at 9pm. I found an emergency exit door locked and pointed this out to the duty manager. He argued that this was not an emergency exit - until I pointed the signs out to him 🙄. Assumption: English tourist = stupid. We have stayed at 2 Pestana hotels before and are members of their Vacation Club. We are supposed to expect 5* VIP trea**ent - certainly not here. We are trying to arrange an early departure but even that is fraught with Pestana red tape. If you come here, expect to do a lot of waiting around, walking indoors, and thumb twiddling!

Acabamos de llegar a casa y ya estamos deseando volver. El hotel es estupendo… tranquilo, acogedor y limpio. El trato del personal es impecable, siempre tratando de que la estancia sea lo más cómoda posible. Las instalaciones están muy bien cuidadas y no les falta detalle. En las estancias en las villas el desayuno se sirve en la propia casa, en una cesta que trae a la puerta la de la villa el personal del hotel, a la hora convenida. El desayuno es muy abundante, variado y con productos de calidad. Nuestro perro Ron ha estado feliz, igual que nosotros. La Sierra de la Estrella es una maravilla, por cierto. Nos quedamos con ganas de visitar el spa por falta de tiempo, así que ya tenemos excusa para volver. Lo recomendamos al 100%.

Excellent location, excellent recuperation of a XVI Franciscan convent with really nice and very helpful staff. The rooms are very spacious and well kept, the front office impeccable from the reservation over the phone, the check-out. They provided a lot of informations on te surrounding area. The bar and restaurant staff was great and very friendly, light dinner was very good, even he chef came out to ask if all was fine. Breakfast is really good. The indoor and outdoor pool were great (some minor details on the indoor pool need attention) the gym simple but well kept. We really enjoyed our stay and the kindness of the staff. You feel the staff is really proud to work there. We can only recommend it.
