Gulong Stay Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) I recently stayed near Gulong Canyon and had a wonderful experience overall. The area is surrounded by lush green mountains and rivers, so the views are absolutely stunning, especially in the early morning with mist in the valley. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and had a rustic charm that fit the natural setting. The main attraction — the glass bridge and skywalk — was breathtaking (and a little scary if you’re afraid of heights). Staff were friendly and helpful, though English was limited, so having a translation app helped. Local food was fresh and tasty, especially the river fish dishes. One tip: bring comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for some steep climbs. It’s best to visit on weekdays to avoid heavy crowds. Would I come back? Definitely — especially to enjoy more hiking trails and maybe try the zipline next time.

This hotel was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at! We stayed in a room with a private pool and the views are unmatched! The room has stunning floor to ceiling panoramic windows to soak in all of the splendor! I thought that when I booked the room that the view may have been AI enhanced, but NO! What you see in the picture is the actual view! The room was impeccably clean. Our housekeeper Mayling Icey made sure we had everything we needed via WeChat. The ammenities in the room are top quality and high tech. The location of the hotel is near a lot of tourist attractions. We did a yulong bamboo river boat (highly recommend) and a tour of the mountains nearby. The hotel offers many other experiences. We had food delivered right to our room so we could enjoy our view. We simply loved this hotel, everything was perfect! Jessica at the reception was really kind and helpful for any question we had during the three days we spent there, she spoke a good English and helped us book our activities. The hotel location is also perfect, close to the river with beautiful landscape but also close to the city center and all the restaurants. The room was super clean and wide enough for the three of us. Breakfast was delicious with great variety of food including Guilin rice noodles. The rooftop is amazing and the free afternoon tea is very enjoyable there. We even had a little gift upon checking out. Thank you Xitang River View Hotel! A tip : wake up for sunrise on the rooftop!! Amazing stay with stunning views! We really appreciated the excellent customer service and will definitely come back next time we are in Yangshuo. Hotel is 10 min drive from the town square with tourist attractions like pedestrian street, food spots and shops. The room was so beautiful and the view was stunning both in the morning and in the evening. The bathtub is really spacious with good view. Hotel provides a single-use bathtub cover, it was very considerate! The breakfast was nice. They have both Chinese and western options like cereal and turkey ham/beef slices. Hotel kindly reserved us the Liu Sanjie performance tickets with a discount and allowed us a late checkout. Hotel provides costume photography services, but sadly we could not use the photography service this time. A scooter can be rented for 50 yuan (200 Yan deposit) right downstairs! The lady that rents the scooters helped us with some recommended places and map locations for insta-worthy pics: rice fields and mountain views, hot air balloon, etc. Beware of mosquitoes, don’t leave your windows or balcony door open. Overall we had a very pleasant experience and will definitely be back. Thank you very much! ❤️

The service provided by the staffs at the reception is excellent. The best services I have ever encountered during my past 20 years travelling around many countries. For instance when I inform them that there is cigarette smell in the air conditioning, the staff immediately brought an air purifier to my room, that was around midnight. The next day the hotel staff arrange the technician to wash the air filter of the aircon.

Central location, walking distance to the pagodas and elephant trunk hill, river walk. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The room was spacious and with a lovely view of the river, very clean and had no issues. There’s a free laundry room with detergent available and an inside tourist guide for last minute tourist attractions bookings. There’s a terrace on the top with lovely river views. The breakfast was extremely varied and very tasty, plus nice proper coffee, you can also request noodles. Staff were amiable. Overall, a nice stay, and they gave us extra water and some magnets when we left, which was a nice touch.

I have been staying this hotel many times & always stayed in Executive floor. My last stayed was 2 years ago. I believe the hotel management is cutting cost, many items are withdrew from the executive lounge. Like nuts & biscuits are no longer provided. Overall, the service & the cleanliness still maintains good standards.

We enjoyed our stay, the hotel was located in a very convenient spot to see the sun and moon pagoda. It also included free breakfast with a very nice selection. We appreciated the fact that there was a 24h spa service with very affordable prices (for an American at least). The hotel has a gym, pool, and a daily waterfall show in the back. One thing to note that if you come in the winter, then the AC will not be cold as I suspect it part of a centralized system. Overall, would stay here again in the future!

Best breakfast in China! Xiaoming was very helpful with anything we needed and very generous. There are e-scooters to use, which you really need. Guilin traffic is not for the feint heated though and this is certainly not the place to learn to ride an old e-scooter. At first I wondered why I had booked a place so far out of town but in the end, with the scooter it didn't really matter. The room has seen better days and the lack of ventilation means high humidity from the shower mist, meaning sweaty nights, which isn't good. Didn't like the fact the music was left on ALL night below in the breakfast room as you can hear it in the room!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel had the perfect location — close to everything yet peaceful enough to truly relax. Waking up to the breathtaking views of Yangshuo’s stunning karst mountains felt unreal every single day. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained, making it easy to feel at home after a long day of exploring. What made the experience even more memorable was the staff. Ms. Wem and everyone were incredibly warm, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. They went above and beyond by helping us arrange activities, tours, and transportation to all the places we wanted to visit around Yangshuo, which made our trip smooth and stress-free. From start to finish, the hospitality was exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Yangshuo — we would gladly stay here again!
