Hotel Dengan bar di Luang Namtha, Laos

For those coming from Boten Station, please book the hotel's shuttle service as there are no regular taxis available. There are shared taxis (large vans), but they almost 100% go to the border checkpoint. Also, on Western websites, Boten hotel names are only listed in English with Pinyin. In town, hotel names are mostly in Chinese characters, so if you can't read Chinese, you won't know which hotel it is unless you're dropped off directly by a shuttle. This hotel is by far the largest and oldest in Boten. What I found out during my stay is that the interior is sparkling new, the Wi-Fi signal is weak, only a few TV channels in Chinese and Lao are available, and there's no refrigerator in the room. Is this because tourists just pass through this border town between Laos and China, which also has a high-speed rail station? It's a shame, but perhaps understandable.
