The hotel room was clean and quite spacious.
Our main issue was that the check in time stated on Trip.com booking was 2pm. Whereas the hotel check in time was 3pm. So we had to wait in the lobby for a considerable time before being given a room. Additionally they were running late with housekeeping and we got the room only at 3.15pm. Which wasn't great as waiting with a tired kid wasn't convenient at all. I did highlight to the reception about the check in discrepancy but not sure if they corrected this online. They were friendly enough but there was no apology provided for the inconvenience and the wait.
Otherwise it's a nice hotel with a spa attached.

A Hotel That Delivers Every Time – A Must‑Book Stay
This hotel is one of those rare places that makes every guest feel genuinely welcome from the moment they arrive. Set against beautiful harbour views and peaceful wetlands, the location offers an immediate sense of calm, whether you’re travelling as a family, a couple, solo, or for business. The team here consistently deliver exceptional service — warm, attentive, and personal — the kind of hospitality that stays with you long after you’ve checked out.
Rooms are spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The dining experience is excellent: generous portions, high‑quality ingredients, and a breakfast that truly stands out. The leisure facilities, including the sauna and nearby walking routes, are well maintained and offer the perfect balance of relaxation and activity for all ages.
What makes this hotel exceptional is the atmosphere — safe, friendly, and genuinely uplifting. It’s a place where families can make memories, couples can unwind, solo travellers can feel at ease, and business guests can enjoy comfort and efficiency. Whether you’re celebrating, exploring nature, taking photos, or simply needing a break, this hotel delivers on every level.
As a certified travel reviewer, I can confidently say this is a hotel you will want to return to. Highly recommended for every occasion.
Friendly helpfull staff, location ideal for train station parking and eating out deals was a massuve selling point i feel the hotel could promote this more.
Better discount by just showing your hotel card, at numerous eateries and shopping at the designer outlet.
This hotel is very hit and miss. If you get a well-maintained room in a quiet area it's perfectly adequate. This latest stay matched that description, but previous stays here have not.
I was in a ground floor room - I thought the policy was to put single female travellers on an upper floor, but perhaps this has changed? The window didn't have a locking mechanism so although it only opened a limited amount it would be enough for someone to get their head in. Other than that, the stay was fine. Staff I spoke to were very welcoming.
I've given a lower rating for location because it's in the southbound services on the M3, which can make it noisy. Plus, if you are travelling northbound you have to go all the way back to the previous junction and turn around which is very frustrating. I probably won't stay here again.
Can’t fault a thing, really lovely place to stay with little ones. They really looked after us with special touches, including a stunning play area and bedtime milk and cookies
Nice hotel. Rooms were nice however there were black hairs all over the floor in the bathroom. Good location, not to far from Winchester city centre. Disappointing that a 4* hotel charges for parking through. Didn’t even think to check this as free parking is pretty standard but they wanted £10 at check in. Disappointing
Standard room in the town centre, close to high street and bus/train station so very easy to get to. Located in a pub but was very quiet, has a beer garden and space for parking if needed. Spacious room for one person and has everything you need including a kettle, tv, wardrobe with plenty of storage, towels etc. Receptionists were kind and helpful, breakfast is available for extra but I didn't get it so cannot review.
I arrived late (2315 hours) although within their check in windows, but they had the room keeps ready for me in the room, so I was able to get straight in without any fuss. Brilliant service - thanks.
Hotel was clean, and handy location for the station. The room was quiet and although no A/C, a fan provided was quite adequate even though it was a very hot day. Bathroom a bit tired though.

Very Good
GGuest UserWell, the service at the hotel was excellent too. The hotel staff were always very friendly and helpful, they were always willing to answer my questions and provide useful advice. Also, the breakfast provided by the hotel was very delicious, varied and had different choices every day. The service at the restaurant is also very good, and the staff is always very thoughtful and welcoming.
The only downside is that the hotel is slightly more expensive, but I think the price is still very reasonable given the location and quality of service of the hotel. In short, I really like this hotel and I would definitely choose to stay again if I travel to this city again.
BBobstarrLovely staff and great hotel location for anyone that’s a bit more car centric.
Despite not using the on site facilities as much, the staff were lovely, friendly & helpful at any hour.
The room was spotlessly clean, and had decent basic amenities, but the room I stayed in was starting to look a little tired.
Decent value for money however, especially for the time of the year & a weekend.
GGuest UserThis hotel is beautiful and just a 35-minute drive from Highclere Castle. It has a real sense of history. The facilities are great, although there's no air conditioning and the room felt a bit stuffy, but that's just the way it is sometimes. The hotel is right next to a vast estate with beautiful lawns, flowers, and trees, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I hope to come back again!
SStaceyI was a little bit disappointed staying at the Apollo hotel when I booked, i booked it for two adults and one child and when I got there there was only a double bed, they told me they would put in a single bed for me whilst I was out and when I got back to the hotel at 8:30pm there still wasn’t a bed they eventually at 10pm gave me a camp bed with springs missing for my four-year-old to sleep on I wasn’t happy, so in the end I ended up sleeping on the floor so my daughter could have the bed with her dad, it’s a real shame to see a hotel that I stayed in when I got married has gone downhill, there was a lot of dirty trays in the corridors on the way to the room, but on entrance of the hotel was beautiful,
GGuest UserNice hotel, warm winter and cool summer, no air conditioning (no air conditioning), the temperature difference between morning and evening is very big, pay attention to the increase of clothes, the town is very warm, it is too expensive to go to London train
WWing@keungLocated very near town centre , shopping mall and restaurant . It has a car parking area cost £12/night and £24 for my 3 day 2 night trip. Room is tidy.
But I thought hotel will auto daily reset the room door pin ??We failed to open room door and have to reset room card for everyday after came back . But no staff mentioned it during checkin .
Due to the good location . Still Higher recommended.
GGuest UserBreakfast at the weekend doesn't start until 8.00am. We were playing a Pickleball Tournament on their Acrylic tennis courts and needed to digest our food before running around! The hot items weren't all out which was irritating. Bacon, sausages and eggs were missing. As soon as the eggs arrived they were gone because everyone was queuing. If it says breakfast starts at 8.00, then it should all be available on time! Pools are great, (one specifically for children and one for adults. Sporting facility was excellent. Free parking for hotel guests.
Bedroom was very clean and had everything one needed. No air con, but fan in cupboard. Magnifying mirror, iron & board, hairdryer.
I had to stay at the hotel to continue playing my tournament, but wanted to have a last swim to ease my muscles before driving home in a terrible heatwave. They said check out had been at 11.00am and I would have to pay £10! I thought that was rather steep so declined. There was hardly anyone in the pool and a small kind gesture after paying for 2 nights would have lifted my spirits and given a better impression. The pool was also only open from 8.00am. Far too late if people want a swim before breakfast.
Dogs seem to be allowed at the hotel in the bedrooms. 4 yapping dogs in one room is a bit much. Awful for the cleaners and I put the TV on to mask the noise!
Drinks and food quite expensive. Great Indian in the village!
It was great though being able to stay at the actual venue for the tournament. Cheaper through Trip com than the Tournament offer rate!

JJoodsI had booked the hotel as I was attending and office Christmas party and didn’t want to drive home after. The location was important as I wanted easy walking distance from the venues we were visiting and a central location as I would be walking back alone to the hotel late at night.
It felt as though the visit got off to a bad start as although I arrived close to check in time, there was no room to park at the hotel car park. To be fair , the hotel website does mention it’s not big and is on a ‘first come…’ basis, however the site does not explain alternative parking options. I parked at a multi storey carpark about 5 mins walk away. I parked at 3:15 pm with parking expiry at 9:15 am- not ideal- either leave early or make sure you make a note to top up!
The reception area is bright and spacious and looked very pleasant; check in was efficient.
However, the room was very dated, ( dark furniture which had seen better days, the easy chair was in need of recovering). Hmmm
The room looked clean however there was hair (head an ‘body’ hair on the bathroom floor (not one or two strands), and for the first time in over 30 years of hotel stays I had to request housekeeping to clean my room. I requested this upon leaving the hotel for the evening. The receptionist was shocked when I mentioned it and on my return I could she issue had been remedied.
Breakfast was ‘ok’.
