But honestly, if it's your first time, you'll easily "walk your feet off" 🤣, especially since the wait times for popular attractions can make the day fly by. It is necessary to visit who is interested in the subject. But we were able to pass only three attractions all day. The rest just walked, looked. Queues for 2 hours and so all day, no matter the time of the day. Periodicly closed the entrance, so the waiting time became closer to 3 hours, but only for time. It was in August on Tuesday, from the morning. Harry Potter is certainly the best, necessarily for visit. Very atmospheric. Many go with their food, as queues are everywhere and expensive enough. And of course all queues are tracked in the app, waiting time exactly up to minutes.US$ 56

Compared to some of the more thrill-heavy parks, you can take things a bit easier here.

It’s not a high-speed sprint like the Decepticon coaster, so I found it pretty manageable overall, but when a dinosaur suddenly pops up right in front of you, you still can't help but scream a little! 😂

Universal Beijing Resort also features the Hogwarts Castle Nighttime Lights show, but the specific show times vary depending on the day's schedule, so remember to check the official app in advance.
🪄 Ollivanders
This is truly perfect for Harry Potter fans! When you visit Ollivanders, you can browse the magical shop filled with wand boxes and even pick out a wand of your own. What's even more fun is that there are interactive spots throughout Hogsmeade Village where you can cast spells. Just point your interactive wand at the designated spots, say the incantation, and "magic" will actually happen ✨. Kids will probably have so much fun they won't want to leave, and adults won't be able to resist playing along either 😂.

If you only have one day, really don't think about "taking your time and arriving at 9 or 10 AM" 🤣. I recommend arriving at the park early to get through security and entry preparations. As soon as the park opens, head straight for the popular attractions you want to ride most. Don't start taking photos or shopping the moment you walk in, otherwise, by the time you're done, the lines for the popular rides will likely already be getting long. Plus, Universal Beijing Resort currently offers early park admission benefits for guests staying at select hotels. Guests staying at the Universal Studios Grand Hotel or the NUO Resort Hotel can, subject to eligibility, enter the theme park up to about an hour early.
📱 2. Download the Universal Beijing Resort App before you set off
The official app lets you check park information, ride availability, and attraction wait times, so you don't have to just guess where to go. If you notice a ride suddenly has a shorter line, you can adjust your route on the fly. The park also recommends that guests check wait times via the app or the digital signage throughout the park. Plus, if you're eligible, you can upload your photo in advance via the app or mini-program to use "facial recognition" for entry💡, which helps cut down on wait times for on-site identity verification.
🎢 3. Head straight to the most popular attraction after entering the park
If it's your first time visiting, I would suggest prioritizing:

It offers a separate priority lane that lets you reduce wait times on eligible attractions, and it currently applies to many rides, including the Decepticoaster, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Jurassic World Adventure, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Flight of the Hippogriff, Kung Fu Panda Journey of the Dragon Warrior, and more.
🗺️ 5. Don't keep "hopping between districts"
"Cross-zone running" means, for example, you're just in the Harry Potter area, but suddenly see a shorter line in another zone, so you run over there, finish the ride, and then run back... You end up spending your whole last day just walking. So, I recommend exploring zone by zone: Harry Potter → Jurassic World → Transformers → Kung Fu Panda → Minions.
🎭 6. Check showtimes in advance
Don't pack your whole day with just rides! Universal Studios Beijing also has plenty of live shows. If there's one you're interested in, I recommend checking the app in advance for the daily schedule and working it into your itinerary. This is especially true for the WaterWorld stunt show—if you want to see it, make sure to set aside time beforehand, or you might find yourself in the middle of a ride just as the next show is about to start 😂.

🚇 I personally recommend taking the subway the most. You don't have to worry about traffic jams, and it takes you directly to "Universal Resort Station." After getting off, it's just a short walk to get there—it's the most hassle-free option overall!

I came to Beijing for a visa and also took my child to Universal Studios. The 1.5-day ticket plus one night's accommodation was actually quite a good deal. We added two breakfasts when checking in at the front desk and were upgraded for free to a Minions-themed room. The overall environment and hygiene were acceptable, but in terms of price, it wasn't particularly good value for money, given it's a tourist resort. I can accept that for now, but I have a few minor suggestions.
Firstly, the hotel's bath towels seemed to have been washed repeatedly, showing signs of wear and tear, with loose threads and holes. Although we brought our own towels, seeing those was a bit uncomfortable. Secondly, regarding the details, the room felt a bit cramped. It said it could accommodate four people, but it was already enough for two. There wasn't much space for luggage. Also, the bathroom door opened outwards, and the anti-slip mat at the entrance would block it, getting pushed away every time the door opened, which was very inconvenient. I hope this can be improved, especially since we were traveling with a child, and we hoped for more safety and convenience. I hope the hotel sees this and finds it useful.
Breakfast was very rich, almost like a full meal buffet. If you can eat a lot in the morning, I recommend filling up, as it won't affect your energy for the day. We weren't hungry from 8:30 AM until 3 PM, which might also be because it was hot and we drank a lot of water. If you have the option, try the breakfast; it's all good stuff.
During peak tourist season, especially summer vacation, bringing children here requires careful consideration. If conditions permit, I suggest adding a VIP Express Pass (Universal Express), which covers 14 attractions with almost no queuing. Our 1.5-day experience taught us it's best to finish playing before 2 PM, as more visitors enter at 2 PM and 4 PM. On our first day, the experience was terrible; it was crowded everywhere. However, on the second day, with early entry and the Express Pass, the entire experience was excellent. Traveling really needs a good mood and state; otherwise, it's just suffering. I honestly don't recommend rushing through the park with small children. If your child is still young and under 1.2 meters, I sincerely suggest choosing a non-holiday period.
Overall, my Universal Studios trip was quite good, especially the major attractions, which were well worth playing. For example, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Transformers: The Ride 3D, Jurassic World Adventure, DeceptiCoaster, and Flight of the Hippogriff. I highly recommend watching WaterWorld. If you can experience these, it's already worth the ticket price. The light show after 8:20 PM was extremely crowded, and I personally didn't enjoy it much. Whether you see it or not, if you have limited energy, it's better to head back early. For 2-day or 1.5-day tickets, maybe try a quick peek on the first night. For 1-day tickets, watching videos online might even be better than being there in person.
One more small suggestion: could the craftsmanship of some merchandise in the gift shops be more refined? Although the prices aren't as expensive as Disney's, I still hope for more perfection. My daughter said maybe all the effort went into the attractions, haha, maybe so.
Regarding the food in the park, I thought it was all pretty good. Some items can be exchanged for an additional 5 RMB, which is quite a good deal.

When I visited Universal Studios Beijing this time, after doing my research and comparing options, I chose NUO Hotel, and it turns out I made the right choice.
Don't let the seemingly greater distance from Universal Studios Hotel deter you; it's actually just a five-minute walk across the street.
The room was twice the size, the slippers were incredibly comfortable, and they provided ten small bottles of water plus one large bottle daily... I was truly impressed.
I bought a package that included a two-day, one-night stay + double breakfast + 1.5-day park tickets + early park access. This was absolutely worth it. Buying the tickets separately would cost around a thousand yuan, and with early access, it would be about 1,500 yuan. Deducting the breakfast cost, the room itself was effectively only a little over a thousand yuan... and it was so comfortable that I even extended my stay for another day. The extended stay didn't come with complimentary tickets, though, and cost 2,700 yuan.
If I had to point out a flaw, it would be how difficult the toiletries were to squeeze out. As someone who works in the skincare and personal care industry, I truly believe such product design shouldn't be found in a five-star hotel... What's going on? Are they trying to prevent guests from using them?
The breakfast was unbeatable! I loved the smoked salmon. The restaurant offered a good variety, and the taste was excellent with high-quality fruit. Five-star rating!DariUS$ 223

From the moment we stepped in, we were mesmerized by the dry landscape garden, crafted by a national treasure-level Japanese designer. The entrance felt like a boundary, instantly isolating us from the city's hustle and bustle. To find such a tranquil spot 'hidden in the city center' in Beijing is truly rare.
♨️Rooms: A courtyard, a private hot spring for each unit – a detail-lover's dream come true
Our room came with both indoor and outdoor private hot spring pools! The natural stone tubs, paired with authentic Japanese Noboribetsu and Hakone hot spring powders, offered a genuine hot spring experience without having to fly to Japan. Soaking under the stars at night, and embracing the scenic views by day, provided excellent privacy. The room's wabi-sabi design was meticulously thought out – Diptyque toiletries, a Dyson hairdryer, a Marshall speaker, and a King Koil mattress. Even the toothpaste was Marvis. The mini-bar's soft drinks and snacks were all complimentary, and my child was overjoyed when he pulled open the drawer.
👶Service: A 'lazy parent's福音' for those with kids
I have to rave about the family-friendly details! Kids' exclusive toiletries, small slippers, bathrobes, bed rails, and a changing table were all provided. Even a step stool for washing hands was available. The 24-hour butler service was on call; when our child fell asleep from playing, the hotel immediately sent a car to pick us up – so thoughtful! There were also free travel photography and Hanfu costume experiences, allowing mom to finally get some beautiful photos!
🍽️Dining: A feast of intangible cultural heritage for your taste buds
For dinner at the Xie Tang restaurant, we enjoyed authentic official cuisine, personally prepared by the fourth-generation descendant of Tan Family Cuisine. The ingredients were seasonal and the flavors were light and delightful. Even the baby meal was completely polished off. The breakfast buffet offered delicate selections, and the sour and spicy beef noodle soup is a must-try. They thoughtfully provided bland meal options for babies. In the evening, the butler delivered a sweet milk stew with hashima as a nightcap, accompanied by butter cookies – pure bliss.
🎵Nighttime: Adults and children alike enjoy themselves
After the kids went to sleep, I strolled to the Yanju Xuan – a refined space for calligraphy and feeding koi during the day, which transformed into an atmospheric live bar at night. Ordering a 'Three Friends of Winter' special cocktail and listening to some lazy jazz music, the post-soak relaxation extended indefinitely. During the day, we could also take the kids to do lacquer fan DIY and feed koi; there was never a dull moment.

Right next to Universal Studios, with a free shuttle bus taking you there in just 8 minutes. After a tiring day, returning to the hotel for a relaxing hot spring soak was incredibly satisfying! It's just 100 meters from Exit D of Huazhuang subway station, and right outside the hotel is the Wanli Wangfujing commercial area, making shopping, dining, and taking care of the kids a one-stop affair – truly a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle.

This hotel offers incredible value for money, especially if you're visiting Universal Studios. The money you save here can go towards an Express Pass, making your visit even better! The subway station is right outside the hotel, and it's just three stops to Universal Studios. They also offer a shuttle bus, but you need to book it a day in advance. The hotel is still quite new, with clean and stylish decor. The twin beds are pretty spacious, and the TV supports screen mirroring, making it great for families with kids. I came to Beijing for a visa and also took my child to Universal Studios. The 1.5-day ticket plus one night's accommodation was actually quite a good deal. We added two breakfasts when checking in at the front desk and were upgraded for free to a Minions-themed room. The overall environment and hygiene were acceptable, but in terms of price, it wasn't particularly good value for money, given it's a tourist resort. I can accept that for now, but I have a few minor suggestions.
Firstly, the hotel's bath towels seemed to have been washed repeatedly, showing signs of wear and tear, with loose threads and holes. Although we brought our own towels, seeing those was a bit uncomfortable. Secondly, regarding the details, the room felt a bit cramped. It said it could accommodate four people, but it was already enough for two. There wasn't much space for luggage. Also, the bathroom door opened outwards, and the anti-slip mat at the entrance would block it, getting pushed away every time the door opened, which was very inconvenient. I hope this can be improved, especially since we were traveling with a child, and we hoped for more safety and convenience. I hope the hotel sees this and finds it useful.
Breakfast was very rich, almost like a full meal buffet. If you can eat a lot in the morning, I recommend filling up, as it won't affect your energy for the day. We weren't hungry from 8:30 AM until 3 PM, which might also be because it was hot and we drank a lot of water. If you have the option, try the breakfast; it's all good stuff.
During peak tourist season, especially summer vacation, bringing children here requires careful consideration. If conditions permit, I suggest adding a VIP Express Pass (Universal Express), which covers 14 attractions with almost no queuing. Our 1.5-day experience taught us it's best to finish playing before 2 PM, as more visitors enter at 2 PM and 4 PM. On our first day, the experience was terrible; it was crowded everywhere. However, on the second day, with early entry and the Express Pass, the entire experience was excellent. Traveling really needs a good mood and state; otherwise, it's just suffering. I honestly don't recommend rushing through the park with small children. If your child is still young and under 1.2 meters, I sincerely suggest choosing a non-holiday period.
Overall, my Universal Studios trip was quite good, especially the major attractions, which were well worth playing. For example, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Transformers: The Ride 3D, Jurassic World Adventure, DeceptiCoaster, and Flight of the Hippogriff. I highly recommend watching WaterWorld. If you can experience these, it's already worth the ticket price. The light show after 8:20 PM was extremely crowded, and I personally didn't enjoy it much. Whether you see it or not, if you have limited energy, it's better to head back early. For 2-day or 1.5-day tickets, maybe try a quick peek on the first night. For 1-day tickets, watching videos online might even be better than being there in person.
One more small suggestion: could the craftsmanship of some merchandise in the gift shops be more refined? Although the prices aren't as expensive as Disney's, I still hope for more perfection. My daughter said maybe all the effort went into the attractions, haha, maybe so.
Regarding the food in the park, I thought it was all pretty good. Some items can be exchanged for an additional 5 RMB, which is quite a good deal.
