The hotel is very close to the West Lake scenic area, and you can even see West Lake from the hotel. The hotel environment is excellent, and the service was absolutely amazing. They even printed out my child's homework for us, and when we offered to pay, the staff member graciously declined. The breakfast had a great variety and tasted delicious too.

The small decorative items in the room show some thoughtful touches. During the holidays, the breakfast area was crowded, and the service quality in the restaurant couldn't keep up. Many finished plates weren't cleared in a timely manner, which could definitely be improved.

Alan, the concierge, proactively helped me change rooms from my original one to a new one. The service was excellent, and he even moved my luggage for me. There's a snack street nearby with a wide variety of food options. Parking is also convenient with an underground parking lot.

This hotel is located on West Lake Avenue in the Shangcheng District, boasting an excellent location approximately 300 meters from West Lake – just a short walk through an underpass. Parking is very convenient, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The hotel is considered a well-established five-star property in Hangzhou. Although it shows some signs of age, the overall hardware facilities are good. The lobby is grand and impressive, and the rooms are quite spacious, nearly 30 square meters, offering good views. The hotel also features a viewing platform on the 6th floor where guests can admire the beautiful scenery of West Lake. Amenities include a buffet restaurant, meeting rooms, an executive lounge, a lobby bar, a gym, and a swimming pool. Even after the summer holidays, the hotel's occupancy rate remains quite high, with a good mix of domestic and international tourists. After 8 AM, it can even be challenging to find a seat in the buffet restaurant. The service is quite impressive; the staff are warm and courteous. Check-in and check-out procedures are very convenient, and for my first stay, I was upgraded to an executive floor. The breakfast quality meets five-star hotel standards. While there aren't many Chinese pastries, options include steamed buns, fried dough sticks, spring rolls, steamed corn, and yams, along with some Zhejiang specialties like Pianchuan (noodles) and Wenzhou glutinous rice. Western options include various breads, grilled sausages, bacon, fried eggs, and omelets. There's a good selection of Western desserts, plenty of fresh fruit, homemade yogurt, and a wide variety of freshly squeezed juices. However, the nut selection is a bit limited. The price ranges from around 700 to 1000+ RMB, which is relatively affordable for a five-star chain hotel by West Lake. Overall, the environment is very quiet, the hardware facilities are good, the location is excellent, and the service is attentive and polite. My overall stay experience was quite good.

I had a fantastic stay! The studio room I chose was fully equipped and spotlessly clean. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. You absolutely have to check out the Sky Mirror on the 13th floor, the hotel's rooftop! The 'blue hour' after sunset creates an incredible ambiance, perfect for stunning, atmospheric photos. The hotel's location is a huge plus, offering convenient transportation and close proximity to Plaza 66 and Hubin IN 77, making shopping a breeze. The hotel's swimming pool is a 25-meter heated pool, and the way light spills into the water from the side walls creates beautiful reflections and makes for great photos. Both the overall facilities and the location are excellent. I also want to extend a big thank you to the concierge, who kindly allowed for a late check-out because my little one was still sleeping. Their thoughtfulness was much appreciated, and I'll definitely be back for another stay.

I brought my parents to Hangzhou to visit West Lake just before the National Day holiday. I had seen many recommendations for Grand Hyatt before coming, and my stay here truly exceeded expectations. The location is superb, right on Hubin Road, the most bustling street by West Lake. It's next to in77 and right by the West Lake Musical Fountain. There's a sightseeing bus stop at the entrance, and the boat pier is just a short walk away. This location is incredibly convenient. The room also exceeded my expectations. I wanted my parents to experience something special, so I upgraded to a Club Lake View room. We not only enjoyed the Club Lounge benefits but also got to see the stunning West Lake from the 8th floor – it was like a beautiful painting unfolding before our eyes, whether in its grand or subtle beauty. What's even better is that we could enjoy the West Lake view, Leifeng Pagoda, and the boats directly from our room while sipping tea. It was truly refreshing! Even more delightful was the hotel's service and warmth. During check-in, we met the lovely manager Xiao Bao, who was incredibly nice. She helped coordinate our room and even arranged a wheelchair for our outing, making this trip with my parents to West Lake feel especially warm and pleasant! From now on, Grand Hyatt will be my top choice whenever I visit West Lake!

The Dahua Hotel boasts an excellent location right by West Lake. Its back gate, accessible with a key card, leads directly to the Nine-Turn Bridge, and the hotel's exclusive cruise ship is moored nearby. The breakfast is a definite highlight; you can eat there for two days straight without repeating dishes. The handmade noodles with toppings are particularly delicious, and the fruits and vegetables are fresh. We stayed on the third floor of Building 3, right next to West Lake Tiandi. The bar's live singer had a great voice, which we could hear clearly even through the glass. The hotel's service was impeccable; they were always ready to assist. We asked for wine glasses, and enjoyed red wine and music in our room, feeling just like we were at a bar.

I booked a 4-day, 3-night package at the Shangri-La Hotel, Hangzhou, through WeChat Channels, and enjoyed a vacation there from September 9th to September 12th. The hotel is ideally located at the intersection of Beishan Street and Gushan Road, an area rich in Republican-era history. A stroll along West Lake leads directly to Broken Bridge, making its prime location a key reason I chose it for my getaway. The 4-day, 3-night package was all-inclusive (breakfast buffet, afternoon tea buffet, happy hour with dinner buffet including drinks and alcoholic beverages, a boat tour, and a travel photoshoot). I was extremely satisfied with the experience; it offered incredible value for money! I especially want to commend the restaurant staff, Xiao Li, Xiao Zheng, Xiao Chen, and Xiao Liao, for their warm, thoughtful, and responsive service, which made me feel right at home. I heard the hotel is undergoing renovations next year. If they offer another 4-day, 3-night package, I'd definitely book it again, as West Lake in late autumn is even more alluring!

Full marks go to the hotel's housekeeping staff! Their attention to detail was exceptional. We stayed for several nights, and the housekeepers must have noticed our clothes hanging up and the partially used toothpaste, because they thoughtfully provided laundry detergent and a new tube of toothpaste, plus extra bottles of water. While the hotel would certainly fulfill any requests we made, this kind of attention to detail and feeling of being cared for is truly wonderful. The hotel's breakfast offers a great variety and is delicious. The location is perfect, making it super convenient for shopping at Yintai or visiting West Lake. The subway station is right outside, and behind the hotel are the night market and food street. The mattress was very comfortable – not too soft – and everything was clean and hygienic. Hangzhou is such a warm and inviting city, with great food and fun things to do. We'll definitely come back next time, and we'll stay at Zhejiang Hotel again! The Tianxiang Tower downstairs is a long-standing Hangzhou cuisine restaurant. Our schedule was too packed this time to try it, but we absolutely must on our next visit.

The room was quite spacious and clean, and you could see the Qiantang River from the window. Of course, their main draw is the infinity pool, but I couldn't get in because it was raining. Having a drink at the poolside bar was also nice. The facilities are a bit old, and the toilet isn't smart. The breakfast was adequate, but the quality wasn't great; the frozen wontons and noodles had no texture. However, the auntie serving the noodles was very friendly and had a good memory. The fruit at the restaurant wasn't very fresh either. I hope they can improve the breakfast quality, then it would be perfect. The standard room isn't expensive, but the river view suite is quite pricey.

This is one of the four-star hotels I would definitely choose whenever I visit Hangzhou. The hotel occupies floors 52 to 57 of a commercial building, conveniently located next to a metro station and only about 200 metres from the Qiantang River. The hotel provides several complimentary amenities, including bottled water, a minibar, and laundry service. What really stands out, however, is the exceptional service. All the front desk staff are very friendly, attentive, and extremely helpful. They always greet guests warmly whenever they see them. I would especially like to mention Li during my recent stay and Mia during my stay last November, both of whom provided exceptional service and made my stays particularly enjoyable. The room rates are consistently very reasonable for what the hotel offers. If you choose a room with a city or river view, you can also enjoy the evening light show from the comfort of your room. Overall, this is a hotel I would happily return to and recommend to anyone visiting Hangzhou.

This hotel is my top choice for layovers/business trips from Hangzhou East Station! Being an InterContinental property, the quality control is consistently good. It's within walking distance to the East Plaza of Hangzhou East Station, making it super convenient when you're lugging luggage. Downstairs, there's the MixC shopping mall with a full range of dining options and convenience stores. Plus, Metro Lines 1 and 4 are easily accessible for getting around the city. The room is simple and clean, with a wet/dry separated bathroom and plenty of power outlets. The soundproofing is good; you can barely hear the high-speed rail noise. Some corner rooms even have a swing chair, which you can request in advance when booking. The buffet breakfast on the third floor offers local specialties like noodle stations, wontons, and Pian'er Chuan. There's also a self-service laundry room, which is great for long trips. There isn't an independent gym, and prices can go up during peak season. Check-in at the front desk was efficient. Overall, it's perfect for those catching a high-speed train or on a business layover, but perhaps not ideal for friends looking for a resort-like vacation vibe.

Breakfast is plentiful, and the take-out meals ordered from outside the hotel each evening are also quite good and reasonably priced, which is very convenient for guests. InterContinental Hotel, affectionately known as the 'Big Golden Ball,' is stunning both inside and out. Even before check-in, the hotel called to ask about any requests. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a river view room, which was clean, tidy, and comfortable. The view from the window was absolutely beautiful, and the service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. It truly lives up to the InterContinental name! The breakfast was extensive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We'll definitely be back if we have the chance.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! I originally just wanted to find a place to crash for the May Day holiday, but this place totally exceeded my expectations. I love it so much... 🥺 My only minor complaint is that it seems a bit far from the city center (and the Hangzhou International Expo Center?), but it's super close to the East Railway Station! The service is outstanding! Housekeeping is super diligent and doesn't even need prompting, and everyone is incredibly friendly TT The front desk even helped me mail a package when I was rushing to catch my train! Getting takeout is also really convenient, and they actually have a fridge, induction cooktop, and a working kettle... This is the only hotel I've ever stayed in while traveling where I dared to use the kettle (lol). It was like opening a mystery box and finding out this one actually *shines*. Ugh, I'll definitely be back! Even if it's far from the expo center, I'll put up with it!

Overall, the room was very comfortable! Soaking in the bathtub was amazing. The only thing was, I'm not sure why the kettle in the room didn't seem to heat water, and the customer service phone also wasn't working. Might be something to look into. Many other details were great, everything you'd expect was there. I was surprised to find a separate treadmill in the room, haha. The breakfast hours are fantastic, 7:00-11:00, truly a blessing for late risers!

This resort hotel boasts spacious rooms and common areas, with impressively wide corridors. The natural environment is beautiful, exuding the distinct Liangzhu aesthetic. The kettle is of good quality, I looked it up – it's a Cotell, the kind you find in five-star hotels. However, the TV in the room has quite poor resolution. The breakfast buffet runs from 7:00-10:00, but the selection isn't huge, and the broccoli was practically raw. The coffee machine is a plus, offering several options. The hotel is conveniently close to Yubird Market, just a ten-minute walk. The cut stone on the shower floor has very sharp edges; it looks quite painful. There's a hot spring here, Yuelan Hot Spring, which was 69 yuan per person during the special offer – a very reasonable price, considering a bathhouse in a small town costs the same. The pillows aren't great; I wish they would switch to more comfortable sleep pillows.

First off, a big shoutout to Manager Chen from the lobby. Their professionalism and empathy were top-notch, really helping to smooth things over after the hotel sprayed insecticide without any notice, causing guests to inhale it and understandably get upset. The State Guesthouse is huge with great greenery, but avoid going in September or October. The lake is swarming with midges, and I got bitten over a dozen times; the itching was unbearable. The hardware and decor are quite ordinary, think 'Fullon Hotel' meets 'old cadre style.' It definitely lags behind the other luxury hotels around West Lake. I'd much rather spend one night at the Four Seasons Hangzhou or the Water From The Heart Residence than two nights at the State Guesthouse for the same price. Oh, and breakfast was pretty standard too; they didn't even have Pian'er Chuan noodles.

The service was attentive and thorough throughout my stay. Check-in was a comfortable experience, and the staff were very enthusiastic and accommodating. After dining at the Jinsha Restaurant, I wanted to feed the fish, and to my surprise, they had small portions of fish food available in the lobby – a really nice touch! The garden view is beautiful. A few minor issues: there were quite a few mosquitoes, and the quality of the hotel's paper bag handles was a bit poor. I hope these can be improved. I especially want to praise the hotel's travel photography service. There are so many picturesque spots within the garden, with beautiful scenes at every turn. The photographer was excellent at finding angles and guiding poses; I didn't have to force any poses, and the raw photos already looked fantastic. The new Chinese aesthetic was perfectly captured, and I ended up with many stunning photos.

After I thanked him, he pretended to type a few things and then said that room was a connecting room. Was he trying to push all the undesirable rooms on me alone? After waiting for an hour and coming back, the room still wasn't ready, and I had to wait a bit longer! Originally, I booked a deluxe suite in the main building for one night and a deluxe villa for another, but then I didn't want to move my luggage. The front desk staff who checked us in was incredibly nice and upgraded us to a family villa for both nights, showing great flexibility and thoughtfulness for guests! The butlers at Xiangyuan are all wonderful, especially Leon, who tries his best to meet guests' needs. There was also a female front desk staff member at Xiangyuan who, because my member coffee voucher wasn't showing up, gave me her own voucher! The variety and quality of fruits, drinks, and snacks at the book bar were excellent. The villa area is quite spacious, with the family villas located in a more mountainous area. However, there's a pond in front of the door, making it relatively independent and tranquil. You can even feed small fish. My child practiced the flute in this courtyard, and I joked, 'It gathers the essence of heaven and earth, absorbing the spirit of the sun and moon!'

By chance, I returned to Amanfayun after a year. Aside from a minor unpleasant incident during check-in (which was beyond their control), the overall experience was perfect. I noticed the changes the hotel has undergone in a year. For example, the Amanfayun sign at the intersection has been replaced (the old one had more character, haha). The room now has a new Bluetooth-enabled speaker and a capsule coffee machine. The welcome amenity has changed from four small snacks to two small packets in the minibar, and they've added Longjing beer and an extra luggage rack. However, they've maintained what should be kept, like not adding lights, smart toilets, or TVs – these are things I believe shouldn't change. The entire team was more vibrant, lively, enthusiastic, professional, and meticulous than last time. This visit, I truly felt that every staff member I met could immediately recognize me and address me by my surname. (When the shuttle was taking me to check out, I dropped some personal items on the road. A staff member I saw on the roadside called the front desk. I said I hadn't lost anything, and the front desk repeatedly confirmed with me, but the staff member was so sure it was mine. When they brought it over, it indeed was! 😄). The service was subtly predictive and attentive. The housekeeping auntie, seeing me wandering outside my room, told me I could ask the front desk if I wanted to tour a room, which I actually had been thinking of doing. 👍 At the time, I was wearing slippers, and the ground was a bit wet, so when she cleaned the room later, she left two extra pairs of slippers. She also noticed I used the coffee machine and boiled water for tea, so she placed extra bottles of water in that area. Charging cables were neatly coiled, and a mat was placed under my personal toiletries bag, among other thoughtful details. There was a warm welcome and send-off in every area. I found out that going to Faxi Temple would take half an hour on foot, and it was hot and humid with no other suitable transportation. I casually mentioned it in the breakfast restaurant, and the hotel immediately arranged a shuttle for me. It was an empty small road, and after a ten-minute walk after getting off, I arrived at the main entrance of Faxi Temple. I was the only one on the entire path, very serene. When they came to pick me up to return to the hotel, they thoughtfully prepared iced water and iced towels. At check-out, I saw a cute little cat lying on my bill, and finally, the staff members saw me off to the car. I look forward to my next visit. P.S. The hotel is a bit stingy with upgrades! The hotel was nice, but I had an unpleasant incident while swimming around 3 PM on September 26th. The pool is divided into two lanes, left and right. When we were swimming in the right lane, a woman told us to move to the left, saying it wouldn't be good if she accidentally kicked a child while swimming. (It felt a bit like a veiled threat; couldn't she just swim more gently?) I didn't argue and moved to the left lane. Later, when I went to the right lane by myself, a man swimming didn't look ahead and scratched me with his powerful stroke. I reported it to the lifeguard, who then spoke to the man. The man was arrogant and refused to apologize, claiming he had been a member for over ten years and that they had their own rules for swimming here. I told him that if he didn't apologize, I would call the police. I don't know why, but as soon as he heard I was going to call the police, his attitude immediately changed, and he apologized. Since he apologized, I let it go. I asked a staff member for some iodine to clean my scratch. Although the incident is over, I still have questions. Isn't a swimming pool a public place? Everyone swims carefully, trying not to bump into others, but these two people seemed to treat the pool as their private property. This left a bad impression on me.

It's just a few minutes' walk from Chengzhan Metro Station. It's not far from West Lake, Hefang Street, and Southern Song Imperial Street, and convenient to get to by taxi or on foot. Right outside the hotel, there are Hangzhou public bicycles ('Xiaohongche') available for a free hour's ride, perfect for cycling around West Lake. Bus No. 7, which stops directly opposite the hotel, goes straight into the West Lake scenic area, making it very convenient to visit Lingyin Temple. **Service:** The front desk staff were efficient and enthusiastic during check-in. The concierge and room service were also good, responding quickly to requests. The overall service chain was complete, not just superficial. **Suite Facilities:** The two bedrooms are relatively independent, separated by a living room, offering good privacy and minimizing disturbance. The living room and bedroom areas are spacious enough, and there are three bathrooms. The bedding is comfortable, and the blackout curtains work well, ensuring a good night's sleep. The room is equipped with a TV, mini-fridge, coffee machine, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, hot water, etc. – everything you need, and all easy to use. The bathroom space is also ample, with toiletries, towels, and slippers fully provided. The overall facilities are well-maintained. The bedding was clean and white, the towels had no odor, and there were no noticeable water stains on the bathroom countertops, glass, or floor. There was no dust in the room corners or on the desk. Seating in the evening allowed us to watch the West Lake sunset, from sunset until the lights came on, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. The weekend buffet was less than 200 RMB per person but offered a wide variety of dishes: seafood, sashimi, roasted meats, barbecue, hot dishes, soups, desserts, fruits, beverages, and alcoholic drinks. Dishes were replenished quickly, and we rarely encountered empty platters for long. There was a rich variety of seafood, and the sashimi was freshly cut and plated. There were also three or four flavors of crayfish available. The roasted meats and hot dishes catered to popular tastes, ensuring something for everyone, including the elderly and children. The dessert section had many choices, including Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and the cakes, though not particularly fancy, were worth trying. The service was also excellent, with timely seating and plate changes, not neglected just because it was a buffet. The hotel facilities are complete and the environment is comfortable, with a bathtub and a swimming pool. The breakfast is also very rich! Highly recommended! The hotel location is top-notch, with convenient transportation. You can practically see the hotel building from all angles of Xiaoshan. Just tell the driver to go to the tallest building. Parking is convenient, and the service is good. The lobby is quite standard, but excels in its details and decor. The butler service is excellent!

I chose this Atour hotel to attend a concert at the Big Lotus. There aren't many dining options nearby late at night, so ordering takeout is necessary. The room itself was spacious, very clean, and odor-free. The only minor drawback was that the showerhead in the bathroom seems to be from the original construction and couldn't be replaced. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out. The staff at the front desk, both the gentlemen and ladies, were all very helpful.

This hotel is truly excellent. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the service is incredibly warm and welcoming; they even escort you to your room. It's also very close to the subway station, just a 10-minute walk to Wengmei and Qiaosi stations. Plus, parking is free! They even provide complimentary breakfast, and the restaurant environment is lovely. The breakfast spread is very rich, with a DIY sticky rice option, which is a nice touch. At check-out, they even gave a gift to the children. For late-night food deliveries, a robot delivers it right to your room, which was quite fun. Security is also well-handled; you need a key card to access your floor, showing the hotel really cares!

🌸 Best Time to Visit Hangzhou

If you ask me, “When is the best time to visit Hangzhou?”, I don't think there's one answer that works for everyone 😆 Some people love seeing flowers in spring, some really can't tahan the heat, while others simply want cool weather for walking around West Lake.

For a first trip to Hangzhou, March to May and October to November are generally more comfortable periods for sightseeing. The weather is milder, so it's easier to spend the whole day exploring places like West Lake, Lingyin Temple and the city's old streets. That said, every season has its own charm, so I'd choose your travel dates based on the kind of experience you're looking for:

🌸 Want to see Hangzhou in spring? Visit March to May

Spring is one of the nicest times to experience Hangzhou. The weather gradually warms up, flowers start blooming, and you can walk around West Lake without dealing with the intense summer heat. If you enjoy taking photos, flower viewing or simply wandering around the city at a comfortable pace, spring is definitely worth considering. Just keep an umbrella in your bag because spring can be quite rainy ☔ I'd also avoid packing your itinerary too tightly. If it rains, you can simply slow down, find a café or move some outdoor activities to another day.

☀️ Don't mind the heat? You can visit in June to August

Summer in Hangzhou can get really hot and humid, especially in July and August. So if you're planning lots of outdoor sightseeing, be prepared to sweat! That doesn't mean you should avoid summer altogether. If you're okay with the heat, you can still have a great trip. I'd just recommend starting your day earlier, then taking a break around noon for lunch, coffee or some shopping before continuing your sightseeing later in the afternoon.

🍂 Want comfortable weather for sightseeing? Try October to November

If you're not a fan of hot weather, October to November is a pretty comfortable period for exploring Hangzhou. The temperatures start dropping, making it much easier to spend hours walking around outdoor attractions. This is especially helpful because places like West Lake and Lingyin Temple involve quite a bit of walking. October is generally milder, while November can feel cooler in the mornings and evenings, so I'd bring a light jacket just in case.

❄️ Prefer cooler weather and fewer crowds? Consider December to February

Winter in Hangzhou is cold, and the damp chill can make it feel colder than the temperature suggests. If you're coming from Malaysia, definitely don't underestimate it! On the other hand, winter can be quite peaceful. With fewer tourists around, you can take a slower approach to the city, whether that's walking around West Lake, sitting down for a cup of Chinese tea or finding a cozy café to chill in.

Rainy days	Keep a compact folding umbrella in your day bag. It's especially handy if you're visiting during spring or the rainy season.
Summer trips	Don't forget your sun protection! Pack sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat, and try to avoid spending too long outdoors during the hottest part of the day.
Spring or autumn trips	Dressing in layers is the easiest option. Wear a long-sleeve top with a light jacket over it, so you can add or remove a layer when the temperature changes.
Winter trips	Don't rely only on the temperature shown on your weather app. Hangzhou's damp chill can make it feel much colder, so pack a proper down jacket or thick coat, thermal innerwear and warm socks.
Big day-to-night temperature changes	Check both the daytime and morning/evening temperatures before heading out, especially in autumn and winter. The afternoon might feel comfortable while the evening gets surprisingly cold!
Going out for the day	Check the weather forecast before leaving your hotel. I usually like to check it again each morning so I can adjust my outdoor plans if rain or extreme heat is expected.
