KLIA Passport Office: Renew Before You Fly, Usually Inside an Hour

A passport office sits 1.5 km from the KLIA Main Terminal Building, hidden inside the airport's long-term car park. Malaysians know it as Pejabat Pasport KLIA, and a standard renewal is printed within about an hour of payment.

Where the KLIA passport office is

Block 2, Long Term Car Park, Jalan CTA 3, KLIA, 64000 Sepang, Selangor. The LTCP is the parking complex on the far side of the airport, about 1.5 km from the Main Terminal Building and the same distance from Terminal 2, which everyone still calls klia2.

You cannot walk there from the departure hall. Drive, take a Grab, or ride the free shuttle that loops between the terminals and the long-term car park. Budget 20 minutes each way. Block 2 takes another 10 minutes to find once you are inside.

Why this office is worth knowing about

The Immigration Department lists KLIA as a passport issuing office for Selangor, which means it prints the book on site. A receiving office only accepts your file and forwards it to the state headquarters.

Many destinations want six months of validity left on your passport, and check-in staff enforce that rule at the baggage counter. An expiring passport can end a trip you have already paid for. Sepang, Nilai, Seremban and Putrajaya sit closer to this counter than to the Kuala Lumpur branches.

Renewing early costs you nothing. Unused validity, up to six months of it, carries into the new passport, provided the old one was not lost or damaged.

Opening hours, and the queue that decides your day

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Selangor counters take a Friday prayer break from 12:15 pm to 2:45 pm, so Friday is a shorter day than Tuesday.

Arrive before 9:00 am, and pick Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Monday mornings clear the weekend backlog.

The queue number decides more than the clock does, so take one as soon as you walk in. Once the day's numbers run out, the counter stops taking renewals. A 2:00 pm arrival on Monday is a gamble; 8:15 am on Wednesday is not.

What it costs

Fees depend on your age and the validity you choose.

Bring a debit or credit card. The counter is reported to be cashless, so notes will not help you.

Loss and damage cost far more. A first replacement runs to RM400, a second to RM700, and a third to RM1,200. Approval sits with the Director General of Immigration, and the outcome is given within five working days.

What to bring

MyKad, or KPPK 09 if the MyKad is missing

  • Your Malaysian passport, valid or expired
  • A debit or credit card for the fee
  • For under-18s, the birth certificate and the MyKad of the parent or guardian who comes along
  • For OKU applicants, the OKU card from the Social Welfare Department

A parent or guardian must be present for anyone under 18, and arriving with the wrong adult's documents is the usual reason a family gets sent home.

No studio photograph is required. The officer captures it with a facial live capture device, and you remove spectacles and contact lenses for the shot. Children under four need a printed 35mm by 50mm photo on a white background instead.

I first heard about Maya Hotel through TikTok, and I’m so glad I decided to give it a try! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the beautiful atmosphere and the overall experience. The hotel is in a great location, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were also friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I stayed here with my daughter, and we both had a wonderful time. The hotel has a relaxing and elegant feel, while still being convenient for exploring Kuala Lumpur. Sometimes you see recommendations on TikTok and wonder if the place is really worth it — in this case, it definitely was! Thank you, Maya Hotel, for a lovely stay. I would definitely recommend it to others and would be happy to come back again! Sharing our memories with you.. Here are some photos we captured while staying in Maya Hotel.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Royal Chulan Kuala Lumpur Extremely satisfied with my stay at Royal Chulan Kuala Lumpur. 🥰✨ The room was comfortable, the hotel atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was good. The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast selection and quality. If the breakfast could be enhanced, the experience at this hotel would be even more perfect. Overall, it's still highly recommended, and I will definitely be back to stay again. ❤️

I was really worried about booking this apartment, as I'd seen so many mixed reviews and it was my first time booking an apartment stay. I was nervous until I arrived, but I wasn't disappointed at all! I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit!

The hotel was nice, but I did have issues with the bathroom door door, not lock. I came and fixed the lock which was loose but still wasn’t looking. It wasn’t the door and the frame wasn’t attached door. There’s something should be checked before checking in. Also, I found a sofa dirty clean it. The rate of pay for the hotel should reduce when this swimming pool was not accessible, but was OK for me to use Next Door as some of the gym equipment wasn’t working. I don’t really expect that for my five so I should be on plane I’m one came to the floor find my room. There’s no arrow missing on the wall directly to my room 1014.. Would I stay here again? No

This is my go-to hotel whenever I visit Kuala Lumpur. It's super convenient to get to KLCC via the covered walkways, so you're protected from the elements. This time, I booked for three consecutive nights, but unfortunately, my plans changed last minute for the final night, and I had to go elsewhere. I tried negotiating with the hotel multiple times to see if they could offer a free cancellation or at least a discount for the last night to minimize my loss, but they refused every time. It would be great if they showed a bit more flexibility in the future. Ctrip, on the other hand, was quite helpful; they gave me some points as a partial subsidy, which was a nice gesture. It just goes to show that a strong platform can offer some peace of mind.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location could not be better—having a shopping mall located directly below the property made grabbing meals, shopping, and getting daily essentials incredibly convenient. From the moment I arrived, the reception staff were exceptionally warm, friendly, and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. The room itself was clean, well-maintained, and extremely clean throughout my stay.

The check-in experience was very good. Someone came to help push the luggage when I got of the bus. Although you can't check in early if you arrive early, you can also check in your luggage for free. During check-in, there are also staff to help deliver the luggage to the door of the room, and will also explain where to eat if you need a hotel buffet breakfast the next morning. The service is considerate! Check out is also very smooth and there is no need to wait! The security is also very good. There will be several guards downstairs! Needless to say, hygiene is very clean 👍 More than Rm300 per night ➕ Breakfast Such service and room quality are excellent 🥰 It would be better if we could occasionally have some preferential activities 🤩

The hotel Pacific Express Central Market prime position is its biggest selling point—it is perfectly situated within close proximity to Pasar Seni and Masjid Jamek LRT, and it so near Central Market(walking distance less than a mins. To petaling street(china town) 10mins When it comes to dining, there is absolutely no need to worry at all, even if you’re not a particularly picky eater. The area surrounding hotel is teeming with a diverse array of food stores, local eateries and cozy restaurants, offering an extensive selection of delicious cuisines to suit all tastes, you’ll find plenty of wonderful dining options just a short walk away. Overall my stay at Pacific Express Hotel Central Market was perfect.(except the water heater is not function well, water flow hot for a while then cold again rm8521), other than that the room is spacious, with small refrigerator, nothing to compare with such nice room and reasonable price. The unrivaled location, convenient dining choices combine to create a truly wonderful living experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur, and I will definitely choose to stay here again. Room is perfect clean, with a large lobby, good security. Must try!

Great Stay Overall! Hi! I had a great time staying here. Parking Valet parking is RM15.90. You can either park the car yourself or have the abang help park it for you. You only need to pay once and can enjoy multiple entries during your stay - at least, this was what I was told. One important thing: please keep the valet receipt properly, as there will be a charge if you lose it. That said, I may have overlooked this, but it would be really helpful if the hotel could clearly mention that parking is valet-only and costs RM15.90 on the app/booking information. When we first arrived, we had a bit of trouble figuring out where to park. We saw several valet signs but initially avoided them because we were worried it would be expensive. 😂 Turns out, it was only RM15.90! I actually had to go to reception to ask about the parking while checking in. Not a big deal, but having this information beforehand would have saved some time. I also tried calling the hotel before arriving, but the call was answered by a bot and redirected to a human - unfortunately, no one picked up. 😅 Check-in Check-in was easy. Just fill in the necessary forms and provide your IC. No deposit was required, which was great. We were welcomed by two really nice front desk staff who made the process smooth. Room We got a room on Level 7 with windows. The room was tidy and smelled really good. The only issue was that one of the plugs in the toilet wasn’t working. Surprisingly, their maintenance guy came to fix it very quickly though! 😂 Appreciate the fast response. Breakfast Breakfast was buffet-style with a decent variety. I’d say it’s pretty much what you’d expect from a normal hotel buffet. BUT THEY HAVE CHEESE OMELETTE. HAHAHAHA. LOVE IT. 🥹❤️ Check-out Check-out was seamless. We just had to provide the valet receipt to get the car and return the room keys into the box in front of reception. We were also sent off by two really nice staff members. Overall One thing I really appreciated was that the hotel has a WhatsApp service that checks in on you during your stay. I think it’s a really convenient way to reach the hotel if you need anything. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable, the service was responsive, and everything was generally smooth. Would definitely consider staying here again!

The hotel is really old and definitely needs renovation. A lot of the facilities look dated and the overall condition could be much better. There was also a strong mould smell along the corridor, which was quite unpleasant. The hotel lift is also freaking slow and there was a long queue, especially during busy hours. This can be quite frustrating when you are in a hurry. The buffet breakfast was also a bit disappointing. There were not many choices available and the food was just so-so. There is definitely room for improvement in terms of the variety and quality of the breakfast. The best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. It is superb and very near to Bukit Bintang, with plenty of shops, restaurants and places to visit nearby. Overall, the location is great, but the hotel really needs renovation, better maintenance, improved lift service and better breakfast choices.

The location is absolutely fantastic! It's close to the station and a shopping mall, so access is great. The Petronas Twin Towers were also within walking distance. No issues with water pressure in the shower! It had a showerhead with multiple settings, including a rain shower. The hairdryer had good power too! There wasn't a large trash can next to the toilet, so I assumed it was okay to flush directly. I personally didn't mind at all, but you could hear voices and sounds from the next room, so those who are sensitive to noise should be aware. It was convenient that I could watch YouTube on the TV in the room. There were many power outlets, but they were type BF, so if you're from a different region, don't forget your adapter! There were also two USB ports. It's a hotel I'd love to stay at again if I come back to Malaysia! 😊 As an aside, the place right outside the hotel where you pick ingredients on skewers and they fry them for you was also delicious.

Definitely book a Tower View room; then you won't need to go to the rooftop sky bar, and the view is unobstructed. The dorsett residence is an apartment suite that is maintained and managed by the hotel. Check in was fine but one would have to walk a short distance to the residence. Non air conditioned lobby as well as the common areas within the residence apartment. The treadmills at the gym are not in working condition. The services on the other hand provided by the hotel, especially manager Christy and her team were immaculate in accommodating to our requests. There was a false alarm reported by us and she and her team attended to it promptly and personalised attention were accorded to our requests that included changing of rooms from residence to hotel. The hotel boasts an excellent location, very close to the Twin Towers – just a 15-minute walk if you turn right out of the hotel and then right again. There's no deposit policy. I happened to check in early before 3:00 PM on September 19, 2026, for the FunRun event, and my room was upgraded for free to a high floor. From there, I could see both the Twin Towers and the swimming pool. The deluxe double room had double-glazed windows for soundproofing, and all the facilities were comprehensive, truly meeting five-star standards. The biggest highlight was the extensive and fresh breakfast, far superior to hotels I've stayed at in Imbi. Five stars from me! I'll definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to KL.

I've stayed in quite a few hotels in KL, and this time I decided to check out the Ritz. Even though the hotel is a bit older, the room was completely odorless and very clean. However, the bathtub looked quite old, and there was some grime around the drain, so I didn't use it. They didn't provide a comb in the room, but you don't need to bring your own power strip. Everything else was fine; even though the toilet was an older model, it was spotless. The location is great and very convenient. It's just a short walk to Pavilion, much more convenient than EQ and Ruma, where I've stayed before. The executive room just has an extra walk-in closet; personally, I don't think it's much different from the standard room. The hotel sent chocolates, and later, a server brought a chocolate cake, which was also delicious! The front desk and butler service were both excellent! However, the doorman didn't help me with my luggage either when I arrived or when I left, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it's very good value for the price!

Location is good. It’s about a 5-minute walk to Bukit Nanas Monorail. The room was great, and the washing machine and dryer were both functioning well. They also provided detergent, which was a nice touch. I stayed in the single room while my parents stayed in the master bedroom. Overall, everything was great except for a very long/non-stop “beeeeeeeep” sound, especially at night. For people who are sensitive to noise, this might be quite annoying, as it was for me. I’m not sure where the sound came from, but I could only hear it when I was in my room, not in the toilet. Maybe it was coming from the air conditioner. When I switched the aircond off or set the temperature around 23–24°C, the sound disappeared. However, when I set the aircond to the coldest temperature, the beeping sound came back.

TLDR: Ceylonz is a great hotel, but the provider (Five Senses) is not. Book a different provider if you want to stay at Ceylonz. (Trip.com does not let me post videos, refer to the pictures below) Initial room conditions: When we first entered the room we encountered these things: - Leftover jacket from the previous guest(?) - stains on the chairs - water stains on the wardrobe - dead ants in the wardrobe - a flickering light Service: Because we chose to stay for 7 nights, we had a 1 free make-up room offered to us which we appreciated. However when we flagged up the issues we found on the first day, they gave us a make-up room on the second day and consumed our free make-up room without our choice. We wanted to use it in the middle of the trip like the 4th day. Because of this we had no toilet paper, tissue box was empty, towels were not replaced. After the 2nd day, they no longer replied to our texts when we enquired about using the sports lounge, requesting a makeup room, getting more toilet paper. Very bad service. After their make-up room, they removed the jacket and cleaned the seat stains, but they did not fix the light or clean the dead ants in the wardrobe. We understand fixing a light might not be possible but the ants were easily removable and we did it ourselves after they left. It felt like they were cutting corners as they also did not replace our tissue box, clean the dead ants or clean the water stains on the wardrobe. Ceylonz: The hotel comes with - nice pool, - 2 gym rooms with great views, - a minimart at the ground floor, - amazing location, walking distance from Bukit Bintang's Pavilion Room: - the amenities provided are not the same for every room, the last time we came there was a water dispenser and pull-out kitchen, this time there isn't (same five senses at ceylonz, same room type) - spacious - tall ceiling - well equipped - bay window - the walls are relatively soundproof so you cannot hear other rooms but the door is not and the hallway is very audible from inside the room, we can hear people chatting, checking in, pulling luggages Bed: - not soft, hard bed with springs - pillows and blanket is okay - uncomfortable bed We would have given this place a glowing review if they: - Stuck to their 1 complimentary makeup room offered - service: replied to our enquiries at all after the 2nd day - better room cleanliness/make-up room diligence: cleaned the dead ants and the water stains on the wardrobe

The hotel gave a great first impression. The lobby smelled amazing and had a luxurious feel, and all the receptionists and staff were friendly and welcoming. Parking is available in front of the hotel, but I opted for valet parking at RM30 for 24 hours. The room was a little small but still comfortable and acceptable. Bed and pillow was extremely good. We got complimentary water and KitKat in the fridge, and the bathroom was spacious. The shower and toilet are separated, but the biggest downside for me was that there was no bidet in the toilet. 😅 The kids’ club was great and my child really enjoyed it. We didn’t get a chance to try the pool. Breakfast was really delicious with plenty of choices. My personal favourite was the nasi impit with kuah kacang — so good! I also requested a complimentary anniversary cake. It took quite a while and I had to call a few times to follow up, but we finally received it on the second day. Thankfully, the cake was really delicious! Room cleaning was also a bit slow. We requested housekeeping in the morning while my husband took our child to the kids’ club, but when we came back around 1pm, the room still hadn’t been cleaned. We were told there weren’t enough staff. Overall, we had a great staycation here and would definitely consider coming back. Everything was great except for the toilet with no bidet. 😅

The service at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur is truly second to none. Their genuine commitment to ensuring our comfort made us feel truly valued as guests. This is exactly the level of service one would expect from a world-class five-star hotel. The room itself is excellent, and we were pleasantly surprised when we returned from dinner to find that the room had been serviced again. Most hotels provide housekeeping only once during the day, but Four Seasons went the extra mile. They even thoughtfully placed bottled drinking water and glasses beside our bed, a small gesture that made a big difference. Their attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction are truly impressive.

The guest demographic is mature and quiet, and the bar is good. Even as an in-house guest, you can get an outdoor table on the same day. The hotel pool doesn't face the Twin Towers directly, which means fewer ladies posing for photos and a more peaceful environment for guests. Downside: Long waiting times for taxis, especially during peak hours when drivers refuse to take rides. The road across is often jammed for a long time, and traffic lights take forever.

Wonderful Anniversary Stay ❤️ I had a wonderful stay at this hotel to celebrate our anniversary. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and all the facilities were in good condition. The hotel is located in a convenient area, making it easy to access nearby attractions, shopping areas and restaurants. The staff were also very friendly, helpful and professional throughout our stay. I especially loved the anniversary decoration in the room. It was beautifully arranged and made our celebration feel extra special and memorable. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary anniversary cake, which was a very thoughtful gesture from the hotel. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the excellent service and thoughtful anniversary arrangements. We would definitely come back again for another special occasion. Highly recommended! ❤️

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago, and returning this time with our family was such a wonderful surprise. The hotel has been newly renovated, and we were truly in awe of how beautiful everything looked! The hospitality was exceptional, the food was great, and the location made it easy to access the malls nearby. We especially recommend staying in the Club Premium rooms, where you can enjoy a more private breakfast setting and refreshments served at the clubhouse. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, always smiling and greeting us warmly. We genuinely felt so welcomed throughout our stay. We had such a wonderful experience and will definitely COME BACK AGAIN! ❤️

The location is great, not far from various metro stations, and you can walk to Central Market and Merdeka Square. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, which is very convenient. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms facing the road can be a bit noisy due to car traffic.

The rooms are a bit old but have been renovated and are reasonably clean. The overall environment is decent. Rooms facing the street inevitably suffer from the noise of roaring motorcycles passing by. Connecting rooms offer no privacy at all – you can't even speak in your room without hearing your neighbors' gossip. I'm puzzled as to why they didn't renovate these connecting rooms, which are common in older hotels. People value their privacy now, even families traveling together often prefer separate rooms at a hotel. Let's talk about the service attitude, which was flawless except for the non-Chinese speaking front desk staff. I arrived early and asked if I could check in ahead of time, but was told there were no available rooms. While waiting in the lobby, my husband felt very unwell due to high blood pressure. I went to the front desk again to ask if I could pay extra to upgrade my room and check in earlier. The response was, ”The upgraded room type takes even longer to prepare. If you want, I'll upgrade it for you.” (exact words). I was speechless. What was my objective? To check in early. Was I asking to pay money to check in later? The staff's attitude during this interaction was cold and very impatient. While I understand that early check-in might not be possible, I cannot comprehend the attitude and replies of this staff member. InterContinental is considered a high-end hotel, and I've stayed at many in China as an InterContinental member, always having a great experience. I never expected to encounter such service on my first stay abroad. I will likely visit Kuala Lumpur again; it's a beautiful, vibrant, and historically rich city. However, I will not choose InterContinental again. The rather awkward location, the not-so-quiet resting environment, and the unpleasant experience from this incident are all reasons I won't return. I rarely write lengthy reviews, but as a seasoned Ctrip member, I hope this provides a useful reference for other members, as I, too, rely on others' reviews when booking hotels.

Great location! I chose this hotel to celebrate my husband’s birthday and also because I wanted my children to see and stay near the Petronas Twin Towers. Having breakfast with a view of the Twin Towers was definitely on our checklist, and it did not disappoint. The room was clean, comfortable, and had no unpleasant smell. All the staff during breakfast were top-notch , very attentive, efficient, and genuinely helpful in taking care of us. Especially mimi and farhan Breakfast ended at 10:30am, and I noticed that all the staff quickly started wrapping up and putting away the food and drinks. At that time, I was looking for a cup to get some mango lassi. A male staff member with glasses on, noticed me and immediately asked what I needed. I told him I wanted some mango lassi but couldn’t find a glass. Even though the glassware was no longer nearby and everything was already being cleared away, he quickly went to get a takeaway cup for me. He then asked the head chef/captain to fill it up for me in the kitchen even though the mango lassi had already been taken away. I was genuinely grateful for that extra effort, especially with all the chaos of closing the breakfast service. It was such a small gesture, but it really showed how attentive and thoughtful the staff were. One thing that did disappoint me, however, was the communication between Trip.com and Grand Hyatt. I had sent a request through Trip.com mentioning that we would be celebrating my husband’s birthday and would really appreciate it if the hotel could arrange a small birthday cake as a surprise. I also requested a room with a good view, as this was my children’s first time visiting Kuala Lumpur, and requested a baby crib as well. However, when we checked in, none of these requests had been arranged. When the lady and bellboy came to our room with our luggage, I asked her if they had received my requests through their system. Fortunately, she was very helpful and quickly arranged the birthday cake and baby crib for us. From this, I realised that Grand Hyatt had most likely not received my requests from Trip.com, despite Trip.com showing that a “reply was received” in the system. I understand that requests are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed, but better communication between the two sides would have made the experience even more seamless. Other than that, everything was wonderful. The location, the view, the cleanliness, and especially the service made our stay very memorable. If the communication issue between Trip.com and the hotel could be improved, it would have been a near-perfect arrangement for our family. We had a lovely stay and would definitely consider coming back again.

The app made check-in, check-out, and communication so convenient. The response to my pre-arrival email was fantastic and showed great kindness. The live service at breakfast and the personal greetings and thoughtfulness from each staff member were wonderful. It truly felt like a hotel you'd want to return to. It was a heartwarming stay. Thank you! 😊

Overall, this hotel isn't great: The facilities and decor are very old, almost 30 years. The wallpaper and toilet haven't been updated. The service and management used to be good when it was a Pan Pacific Hotel, with higher standards. Luckily, I didn't book breakfast. Indian and Malay dishes make up the majority, which isn't suitable for Chinese guests. Transportation is very convenient, with PWTC's LRT and KTM stations nearby. Across the street is a shopping mall where you can shop and eat at Hua Yang restaurant. Chow Kit market is also very close. The most unbearable thing was finding stains and hair on the pillowcases, duvet cover, and bedspread after check-in. They weren't changed, and we had to call to get them replaced. The view is good, you can see KLCC.

The facilities are complete and the hygiene is good. The environment is quiet, and it's right next to Shaw Parade. You can find delicious bak kut teh there. The Durian SS2 stall there is also more affordable and tastier than the ones in the city center, and they even gave us lots of mangosteens and rambutans, which were perfect to cleanse the palate. The Twin Towers are a 30-minute walk away, and along the way, there are durian stations that are more affordable and offer more varieties than the durian shops near the Twin Towers. Both durian shops, one large and one small, had Black Thorn and Red Prawn durians with 6 pods each. We were so full from the Black Thorn, and the Red Prawn, though smaller, was also very plump and just right for two people. The poolside bar had a great ambiance too.

Quite a surprise! I booked this hotel last minute, and the price was great. After checking in, I found it to be very clean and much quieter than the hotel next door. It has a pool, and when you store your luggage, they give you a proper tag, unlike other hotels where they just haphazardly leave it at the front desk. After a long day of sightseeing, I was too tired to go out, so I ordered takeout to the hotel. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

Oh my goodness! We went straight to the hotel after landing in Kuala Lumpur. We arrived four hours before the 3 PM check-in time, but the hotel welcomed us in the lobby right away. The bellboy was so cute and strong, which really made us feel warm and welcomed upon our arrival. When we got to the 53rd floor, the front desk found two Chinese-speaking staff members to assist us, and they were even a supervisor and a subordinate! It was truly touching. They helped us store our luggage, showed us to the restrooms, and let us choose an aromatherapy scent while offering iced tea and snacks. The whole process was polite, thoughtful, and gentle. When we checked into our room in the afternoon, we couldn't have been happier. It had a bathtub, double sinks, a smart toilet, a king-sized bed, a large sofa, and a spacious shower. In the afternoon, someone even came to turn down the bed and light an aromatherapy diffuser. The breakfast was incredibly exquisite – a combination of buffet and à la carte! Absolutely delicious! The hotel's location is superb, connected to Pavilion via a skybridge, so we didn't have to worry about sun or rain when going in and out. It truly maximized our sense of happiness and relaxation during the trip! Most importantly, we had an unobstructed view of the Petronas Twin Towers and all of Kuala Lumpur. Jalan Alor was right behind Pavilion; it's such a prime location! I highly, highly recommend Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur!

Nice Room with a Lovely KL Tower View I had a pleasant stay at Flora by Crossroads Hotel. I stayed on the first floor in a room facing the main road, with a lovely view of KL Tower. The room itself was comfortable and suitable for a short stay. The hot shower worked well and was one of the things I enjoyed during my stay. The bathroom could use a little more attention in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. There were some visible stains on the walls and floor, the basin was draining slowly, and the toilet had a minor leakage issue. Just a small reminder for the housekeeping team to remember to replace the complimentary drinking water for the next guest, as it may have simply been overlooked during room preparation. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and especially the KL Tower view. With a little more attention to bathroom cleanliness, maintenance and room preparation, the overall guest experience could be even better.

I wouldn't recommend staying here if you don't speak English. Communication was a nightmare, and the front desk staff weren't very clear. Basically, the language barrier combined with an unaccommodating front desk made everything difficult. The location isn't great either; you need a taxi to get anywhere, and walking takes about half an hour. The room itself was just okay. I was swayed by good reviews saying the front desk had friendly female staff and that early check-in was possible for a fee. But when I got there, it was all male staff at the front desk. I had to wait for a room immediately, and paying extra for early check-in wasn't even an option. I arrived in the early morning and couldn't check in until 1:30 PM. Also, I saw that breakfast was included when I booked, but when I asked, they said it would cost 17 MYR. For 230 a night, it's really not worth it. I might as well have stayed at a hostel in Chinatown or a hotel with a pool for better photo opportunities. I just wanted my own room, but it ended up being a lot of hassle, very tiring, and I didn't get good rest. I don't recommend it; it was quite a miserable stay.

I booked a two-night stay for a business trip, and the location was super convenient. It's right next to the LRT station; you just exit and turn left, and you don't even have to leave the building. The hotel restaurant is right next to the lobby and front desk, and the food is decent – not too expensive for a hotel restaurant; pasta was about RM16. There are also convenience stores like 7-11 and Mynews, plus a Zus Coffee, right outside the subway station. The room itself in the hotel building felt a bit dated, with some wear and tear on the walls and ceiling. However, the facilities like the shower and toilet were fine – good water pressure and consistent hot water. The only minor drawback was the lighting; it was a bit too yellow and dim. It's fine during the day if you open the curtains, but if you're working in the room at night, the overly yellow light can be a bit disorienting. Overall, it's great value for money. For the price, it's definitely one of the more affordable options in the area, and cleanliness wasn't a major issue.

I felt safe as a woman solo traveller staying in this hotel! Especially with their lock system feature at the main entrance where it will be active after 6pm onwards & throughout the night! Nice lobby ambience & the room space is just great for me. Just that it's a bit sad they don't have any fridge in the room 🥺 But nevertheless I enjoyed my stay so much, thank u!

How the visit actually runs

Take a queue number, then hand over the MyKad and the old passport. You pay. The officer captures your photograph and fingerprints, and then you wait for the book to come out of the printer, which is the part that eats the time.

Check the printed details before leaving the building. A misspelled name costs two minutes now and a wasted trip later. If the wait drags, the KLIA airport lounge guide covers what the paid lounges cost.

The new 10-year passport

Immigration's fee schedule lists a ten-year passport at RM350 for ages 18 to 59 and RM175 for ages 60 and above. Reporting from July 2026 places the KLIA office among the first counters issuing the new format.

The five-year book at RM200 still exists, and for most people it is the sane default. Ten years only pays off if your name and MyKad details stay the same, because a lost book wastes the extra RM150.

If the passport is lost or damaged

KLIA takes these cases, and the one-hour turnaround does not apply. File a police report first, then bring it with your MyKad. Remaining validity does not carry over, so two years left on the old book is two years gone.

When KLIA is closed

Weekends and public holidays, the LTCP is shut. The weekend answer is a UTC. UTC Selangor in Shah Alam runs passports from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, and on weekdays from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm, or 2:45 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday.

Closer to the city, Kelana Jaya and Kajang open 7:30 am to 5:30 pm on weekdays, while Puchong and Kuala Langat run 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Sorting the flight around the renewal

If the renewal is your only reason for being near the airport, this is a same-day errand. Drive in, park at the LTCP, collect the book, drive home.

If a trip comes next, book the flight after the passport is in your hand. Trip.com flight search compares the carriers out of KUL on one screen, and the hotels around KLIA cover the terminal options for a 6:00 am departure.

A pre-booked airport transfer beats the taxi queue at Terminal 2. KLIA Ekspres tickets handle the run into KL Sentral. For the rest of the trip, the MyNIISe guide explains the arrival system behind the autogates and the MDAC guide covers the digital arrival card.

Add travel insurance before flying and check the Malaysia Airlines baggage allowance for a full suitcase. Keep the KL LRT guide and KL MRT map handy in the city, and the international driving permit guide with car rental for anyone driving.
