Excellent staff service. The throw in experiences such as photography session and tea appreciation were extremely refreshing. The afternoon tea was of very good standard. The management was very willing to take in feedback and acted upon it immediately. The balcony was a very serene place to chill and soak in the Dali vibes. One will love this place if country-style is your cup of tea.

Mutian Time Designer Guesthouse, Dali | A poetic stay in a century-old Bai courtyard We’ve just returned from Dali, and the place we keep thinking about most is this hidden gem at the foot of Cangshan Mountain — Mutian Time Designer Guesthouse. Oriental aesthetics in every corner The guesthouse is converted from a century-old traditional Bai courtyard house. With its grey-tiled roofs, white walls, and beautifully carved wooden structures, the space carries a quiet sense of history and elegance. The courtyard features water elements, stone paths, and blue and yellow lanterns that create beautiful layers of light and shadow during the day. At night, the soft lighting outlines the architecture and gives the entire space a warm, cinematic atmosphere. The common areas are equally charming, with a stone-built fireplace, vintage furniture, and art pieces thoughtfully placed throughout. The design blends traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern touches, creating a space that feels both timeless and refined. Comfort with thoughtful details Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. A stone feature wall behind the bed, paired with soft bedding and warm lighting, created a subtle sense of “wild luxury” while still feeling cosy and relaxed. Opening the window reveals the courtyard view — waking up to birdsong in the morning and watching the lanterns glow in the evening adds a special charm to the stay. Warm and attentive service From booking to check-out, the hosts were welcoming and attentive. Upon arrival, they introduced the history of the house and highlighted the design features of the property, and were happy to recommend nearby restaurants and local spots to explore. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented, with fresh fruit and delicate snacks — perfect for enjoying a slow afternoon in the courtyard. Breakfast included some local Bai-style flavours, simple yet delicious, and a lovely way to start the day. A peaceful location near the old town The guesthouse is tucked away in Zhongyin Village at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, about a 15-minute drive from Dali Ancient Town. It offers a quiet retreat away from the crowds while still being conveniently close to the main attractions. Surrounded by village life and forested hills, the air feels fresh and full of the scent of nature. More than just a place to stay, Mutian Time feels like a living piece of art. It brought a sense of calm and poetry to our trip to Dali. I had an absolutely incredible stay here, it was easily the best hotel experience I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, we received such a warm and genuine welcome from the host and his family, making us feel right at home immediately. Our bedroom was impressively spacious and kept perfectly clean throughout our visit. The highlight, however, was the spectacular view; waking up to a panoramic vista of both the city and the lake was truly unforgettable. What really set this place apart was the exceptional hospitality. The host took care of us from the beginning until the very end of our stay, going above and beyond by even personally taking us to the bus stop when it was time to leave. Lovely small hotel, nice design, great location. The staff were very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the afternoon tea and also the milk and soup before bedtime were lovely. With the calm style of the hotel, I would prefer a ”over 14/16” policy, as tge kids staying there could be heard throughout the property, taking away from the calm and peacefulness.

Tiada harga hotel 5 bintang, tetapi anda masih boleh menikmati perkhidmatan hotel 5 bintang. The highlight of this hotel is the breathtaking view from the room. The hotel ambience feels homey and comfortable. I rarely write reviews for my trips, but this hotel truly won my heart with its welcoming service and friendly receptionists. What surprised me the most was the hotel driver, Mr. Mars, who offered to take us to Dali Railway Station free of charge. As we needed to catch our train, he did his very best to get us there as quickly as possible. What an amazing and unforgettable service! Thank you, Mr. Mars..you truly made our day with your warm and thoughtful service.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Dali Ancient Town Meishan Guesthouse, and it exceeded my expectations in every possible way. Location – unbeatable and worry-free The location is extremely convenient, right in the heart of Dali Ancient Town. As soon as you step outside, you’re surrounded by beautiful ancient streets and alleys, full of local character. 2-3 mins walk away from the Bars. Attractions, cafes, shops, and amazing food are all within walking distance, which made exploring incredibly easy and stress-free. From check-in to check-out, the entire stay felt completely worry-free. Service – warm, genuine, and unforgettable The biggest highlight of this guesthouse is without a doubt the host. The lady boss is unbelievably friendly, considerate, and welcoming. She is super nice, enthusiastic, and very meticulous in everything she does. From contacting me in advance, patiently explaining routes, to sharing travel tips and local suggestions, she made me feel taken care of even before I arrived. Staying here truly felt like coming home rather than staying at a guesthouse. What made this stay truly special was the personal connection. She even invited me to join a barbecue with her and her friends. We had drinks, chatted late into the night, and shared stories about our cultures, life views, and experiences. Even though I only stayed for two nights, that evening made my time in Dali unforgettable. I felt incredibly lucky to have arrived back just in time for the barbecue. The Bai Jiu, the Yi Zu-style barbecue pork, and the homemade dumplings she made were all fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and full of laughter. Even small details were fun, like the pot cover shaped like the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy, which gave us a good laugh. It was one of those nights you don’t plan for, but it’s the highlight of the trip that you will remember for a long time. 😎 Room & Sleep Quality – quiet, comfortable, and well designed The room itself was quiet and very comfortable, with good sound insulation and a thoughtful renovation design that blends modern comfort with traditional charm. The bedding was clean and high quality, and the bathroom was spotless and well equipped. I slept extremely well every night. The entire guesthouse is beautifully designed, cozy, and relaxing, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. Value – exquisite and worth every penny This is a highly cost-effective and exquisite accommodation. You can see the attention to detail everywhere, from the design to the service. It perfectly balances the charm of the ancient town with modern convenience. It’s absolutely worth experiencing, and I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next trip. Final thoughts I returned home a few days ago, but when I think back on my trip to Yunnan, Dali still stands out as the most chill and relaxing place and Meishan Guesthouse is a big reason why. The friendly host, the warm atmosphere, and the meaningful conversations made this stay truly special. If I could give 11 stars, I would. Hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Highly, highly recommended. Will definitely be back!!!

The room was quite spacious and clean. The hotel was also located near some great photo spots. There were many beautiful cafes nearby. I thought the hotel had a swimming pool, but it turns out the pool is only available for certain room types.However, it's too cold for swimming 😄. A shuttle car was available to pick you to and from the hotel and the gate . Breakfast at the hotel had two options: Chinese rice noodles and Western Spaghetti & Omelette, and they were tasty. The housekeeper Xiao Luo and Fei Fei are very helpful Xixi in explaining via WeChat as we don't understand Chinese.

Overall experience average at Dali Ocean hotel Not up to expectation for the price paid for a should be kids-friendly five star hotel in China. eg: breakfast not much choice, and also not feeling very welcome by front desk staff. When i called them through phone, they just hang up the phone without me finishing the conversation yet, this shock me. Hotel not really kids friendly. Normally what I expect from a 5 star hotel which is into kids theme hotel should be more friendly to kids like giving out some small gifts for little ones, but Dali Ocean Hotel did not have such thing. And also price paid not include visiting the oceanarium. Unexpectedly the dinner we ordered through hotel restaurant and truffle pizza (complimentary in my package) are delicious. Room view Ok, can stay for a night to experience it yourself.
