Booked this room at the last minute: Standard Room with Double Bed. Walked past this hotel many times on previous trips and always wondered what it'd be like staying here. It turned out fine. The room is a touch on the small side, though, and the bathroom feels a bit dated. The best feature is definitely the public bath. Location is perfect, as it's within walking distance to most major establishments in Ginza.

Standard Queen Bed Room (19m2)
Location - 2 min walk to Gotanda Station, 3 stops to Shibuya on JR line Room was small but a given for hotels in Tokyo - still very manageable. Onsen on level 16, environmentally friendly hotel, really nice staff. Pretty good last minute find for the price we paid

Saya sangat berpuas hati!

I stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotel Jingugaien Tokyo PREMIER during a business trip and had a very pleasant experience overall.

The hotel is extremely clean and well maintained, with a professional and efficient staff who ensure a smooth stay from check-in to check-out. The location is very convenient if you need to be in this part of Tokyo,. However, for first-time visitors focused on sightseeing, it is a little farther from some of Tokyo's main attractions and busiest districts.

The room itself is quite small, which is typical for Tokyo, but it is thoughtfully designed, very comfortable, and makes excellent use of the available space. One feature I particularly appreciated was the spacious terrace, which added a sense of openness.

Amenities are provided downstairs and can be collected at any time, which is both practical and environmentally friendly. The bathroom is well equipped, featuring both a bathtub and a separate shower, a nice touch after a long day of meetings or exploring the city.

At breakfast the selection is extensive and offers pretty much everything one could want. The quality is excellent and makes for a great start to the day.

The terrace on the top floor has been my hidden gem: I went there for meditation in the morning and it was very nice, quite and with nobody around :)

We had a fantastic stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza. The location is perfect—within walking distance of great shopping, restaurants, public transport, the famous Tsukiji Market, and just a stone's throw from the beautiful Hama-rikyu Gardens, which made our stay even more special as it's where we got engaged.
The service was exceptional, with friendly and professional staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was spotless, modern, surprisingly spacious, and offered a beautiful view of the city.
Breakfast was excellent, with a wonderful selection of fresh Japanese and Western dishes to start each day.
Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo.
Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo.

Hotel is very conveniently located above a train station (Hibiya line). It is also walking distance to Ginza station. On top of that there are many shops in the area and some open late. The room itself is very spacious and I love that there is space to eat and pack luggage. Bonus points for the Refa hairdryer and the Pola skincare products. Will definitely book this again.

I recently stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotel Shiodome Italia-gai and had a generally pleasant experience, though there were a few drawbacks worth noting.

Location:
The hotel is conveniently located within a short walk of several train stations and the monorail, making it an excellent base for exploring Tokyo. The surrounding Italia-gai district is calm and charming, with relatively light local traffic. However, the noise insulation leaves much to be desired. Trains from multiple nearby lines can be heard frequently and quite loudly from early morning till late at night. Additionally, the nearby fire department sirens are audible, though not as disruptive as the trains.

Room:
By Tokyo standards, the room was spacious and comfortable. However, I noticed blackish deposits around the air-conditioning outlet, which I hoped were not mold. To err on the side of caution, I chose not to operate the AC during my stay. Aside from this concern, the room was generally satisfactory.

Service:
Check-in and check-out were efficient and convenient via automated machines. The front desk staff were kind and accommodating, and assisted with any additional questions.

Room service was thorough and reliable, ensuring a clean and pleasant environment throughout my stay.

Breakfast:
The breakfast buffet offered a mix of Japanese and European-style dishes. The taste and quality were acceptable, with an average but adequate selection. Between 7:30 and 8:30 AM, the restaurant becomes extremely crowded, often resulting in no available seating and a wait outside. The space feels undersized for the number of guests, making the atmosphere less comfortable during peak hours. It would be helpful if the hotel informed guests about busy times to allow for better planning.

Overall:
This hotel offers a convenient location, spacious rooms, and friendly service. However, improvements in soundproofing, breakfast crowd management, and room maintenance would significantly enhance the guest experience.

It was a 3-night, 4-day stay with my sister. It is close to the subway station. I also liked that there is a large public bath. There is also a convenience store. Those three things were good. However, the surroundings are too deserted. If I go again, I think I would choose a different place.

The hotel is conveniently located, making commutes easy. It’s also close to many eateries. The view of Tokyo Tower is right outside the hotel, so you can enjoy its beauty every night as you stroll back. Side note, I received a little token from the concierge on my check-out day because that week was my birthday week. I really appreciate the small gesture!

Compared to other Mitsui Garden hotels, this one certainly provides more premium toiletries. However, it is expensive!

Like other Mitsui Garden hotels, from 2026…. In the name of environmental sustainability, (1) they provide plastic/reusable slippers which don’t seem hygienic to me and I hated them, (2) bedsheets are changed only after 3 nights. Room cleaning was not very thorough, there was dust at the corners. I can’t find the exact photo now but I had deliberately left a small slip of packaging on the floor to monitor if it would be cleared away but it wasn’t! Their housekeeping team could definitely do better!

Unlike other Mitsui Garden hotels I have used, it was not so easy to locate welcome drinks (I did not end up having any). The reception/front desk was also baffling because it tends to be empty or just manned by 1 staff until they notice more patrons around then more staff would appear from their backroom. I appreciate how suitcases I had forwarded to the hotel ahead of my arrival was in my room waiting for me. They also took note of my request for more pillows. Thank you.

Other considerations - entire hotel is dimly lit. There are 2 sets of elevators. One to the lobby, and a separate on to go to the rooms. I timed the journey, it takes almost 1 full minute to get from lobby to B1. Even when I requested for a room near the elevators, I was given a room nested very deeply/far away and required a lot of walking. The carpet made it challenging to move suitcases.

Location-wise, It’s not the most convenient if want to visit Shibuya/Harajuku but ok for Tsukiji and Ginza. Not so many eateries around and while there are convenient stores, there’s currently no full-fledged supermarkets around. Considering how expensive this place is… its limitations / inconveniences, I would reconsider staying there.

Booked it last minute in the Obon holiday and was pleasantly surprised. There is parking and our car just barely fit in the parking space. The hotel bath was warm and comfortable. The location was pretty nice to walk around some of the shopping areas to the east of the building.

Modern design hotel that appeals to the younger crowd. Medium queen room was spacious and I could lay out my luggage case on the long bench. Don't expect nice views from the room as it will be facing other buildings. Room was on the darker side, as the interior design is mostly black and gray, and the lighting was minimal, so it is good for relaxing and not working.
For breakfast, you can order 1 plate from ala carte menu, and there is a salad bar. Pretty simple but does the job.
Location wise, it is closer to Gojo metro station than Shijo station. There is a metro exit with elevator so you can use that when carrying luggage. It is a longer walk to Shijo dori shopping street, so you may prefer to book a hotel closer to Shijo station / Hankyu Karasuma station if you want to be more central to the shopping area.

★★★★★ Excellent Stay in the Heart of Kyoto

We had a fantastic stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo PREMIER. The hotel feels very new, modern and beautifully designed while still maintaining a calm Kyoto atmosphere.

The location was excellent — convenient access to shopping, restaurants, cafes and many sightseeing areas, yet still peaceful and comfortable at night. It made exploring Kyoto extremely easy.

The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable for our family. The hotel facilities were also impressive, especially the public bath and lounge areas which were relaxing after a full day of walking around Kyoto.

What stood out most was the professionalism and hospitality of the staff. Everyone was polite, attentive and helpful throughout our stay.

Overall, this hotel offered a perfect balance of luxury, comfort and convenience. We truly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip.

Plenty of nearby parking too for those who drove

The location is ideal, easy access to all transportation. The staff there are very helpful. Our rooms are very cozy and quiet.

The only problem I had was the laundry room. The machine was small and less powerful. I spent hours trying to get a load of laundry done.

Nice clean hotel. Room was not too big, but enough for the both of us.
Staff was friendly, attentive and helpful.

Location is good, quite central but not in the overly touristy side, which made the stay pleasant as was quiet.
Downside was a bit difficult to find restaurants around lunch time.. just a minor inconvenience

We had a fantastic stay here! The service was exceptional—the front desk staff kindly allowed us to check in early at no extra charge, which was a wonderful surprise and greatly appreciated. The lady at the front desk spoke fluent English, making check-in and all our interactions smooth and effortless.

The location could not be better! It's perfectly situated near tons of shopping, incredible dining options, and local spots. Many major sightseeing attractions were easily within walking distance, making it super convenient to explore the city. Excellent cleanliness and facilities as well. Highly recommended!

This was our first time staying in the Gion area, and Hotel the Celestine truly elevated the experience. The atmosphere is calm, elegant and very Kyoto. From check in to departure, everything felt smooth and professionally handled.

The cleanliness was impeccable. The room was thoughtfully arranged with a perfect balance of modern comfort and traditional Japanese touches. Beds were extremely comfortable and the space felt well planned, not cramped like many city hotels.

What makes this hotel special is the location. Stepping outside places you immediately in the charm of old Kyoto. Walking through Gion in the early morning before the crowds arrive was unforgettable.

Service deserves special mention. The team was polite, warm and always ready to assist with genuine hospitality.

A beautiful property for anyone who appreciates quiet luxury in a prime cultural setting. We would gladly stay again.

Very convenient location, minutes walk away from the metro. A huge public bath that allows you to relax. You can pay extra to have an early check in. Rooms are the usual Japanese hotel sizes

The location of the hotel was superb! Walkable easily to Canal City mall and many other wonderful cafes and breakfast joints. There are 2 Yatai street stalls that open just across the street from mid week onwards so it was a nice experience to have this meal option just a stones throw away.

Cleanliness is good but I was quite put off on the first day when I checked in to the room to find some clipped nails on the carpet. The rest of the room was very clean so I wished they had done a better job vacuuming. The rest of the room is functional and comfortable, nothing fancy. Mine was a double bed and just note that space wise, you can really fully open only 1 large luggage at a time. It’s a bit of a squeeze for 18m2 if it’s two people.

The hotel facilities itself is simple - the large public bath with an open air section is fantastic. It was a real highlight for the trip.
