We did not request early check-in in advance. On our arrival, as my husband was not feeling well, hotel arranged us to check in early to suit our need.
Besides, hotel helped us to call a taxi to restaurant in the evening. Unfortunately, the taxi driver charged us excessive despite a short distance. Hotel liaised with the taxi company, we finally got refund from the driver.
We appreciate the hotel addressed our concerns and assisted in helping us during our stay in Rydges Australia Square. Their friendly staff are impressive.

The biggest highlight of Capitol Hotel is definitely its location—10/10! It’s right in Chinatown and within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, shops, and public transport, making it a great base for exploring the city.

The room was quite small, but it was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We stayed for 8 nights with our 3-year-old toddler, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Location: Perfect. We walked easily from the train station after arriving from Sydney Airport. The hotel is within a 10-minute walk to Darling Harbour, about 15 minutes to Wildlife Sydney and SEA LIFE, and right next to Darling Square park. Plus, Coles, Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, and everything else we needed were just minutes away.

Room layout: We booked a one-bedroom apartment with a living room, balcony, large kitchen, and lovely bathroom. The space was huge – ideal for a family. The dining table was a real bonus, and the kitchen had everything we needed. I was able to cook breakfast and dinner for our toddler each day, so we didn’t have to eat out every night. That saved us time, money, and hassle.

Service: Housekeeping came almost every day, and the customer service from the entire team was fantastic – everyone was so friendly and helpful.

If you’re travelling with a young child and want space, convenience, and a welcoming atmosphere, I would absolutely recommend Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel. We’ll be back!

Next to airport. Nowadays most of the good hotels provide hair comb or brush, toothpaste and toothbrush, which is very normal, but I didn’t find them. It was very inconvenient. I travel a lot and stayed in different hotels and never had this issue. This is the first time I have had this problem. I managed buying them, however, it was very inconvenient. Otherwise it’s a nice hotel and people are happy to help and friendly. I recommend this hotel but make sure you carry your hair brush, toothbrush and toothpaste with you if you’re going to book this hotel..

The hotel was clean and in a great location, which made the stay very convenient. However, considering the price, I expected a little more in terms of basic hotel amenities. Complimentary drinking water and essential toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a basic toiletry kit would have been appreciated. These are small touches, but they can make a big difference to the overall guest experience. For the price paid, I feel these basic amenities should be included.

We booked this hotel for a short stay of 2 days and 1 night before sending our mom to the airport for her flight back to Malaysia, and then continued our journey to other cities for sightseeing.

The location is very convenient, with a 7-Eleven, Woolworths, and the train station all within easy walking distance. Cleanliness was excellent throughout our stay—the room, common areas, and walkways were all spotless, well maintained, and very pleasant.

Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free stay. Highly recommended.

Some dirty spots on the bed sheets.
I made 4 reservations (for 12 days) for one room because of my personal reasons.
And the front staff who was male said I need to check in and out for every reservations.
I emailed them like 2 weeks before my check in date, and they even replied to that email.
I think it was ridiculous.
I asked to another staff and she helped me with staying in the same room during my stay.
It was that much satisfying staying... :(
Some staffs were nice, but some were not.

Great hotel for a business trip. The location is convenient and check-in was quick. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a good workspace with reliable Wi-Fi. Staff were professional and helpful. Overall, a solid choice for a smooth and hassle-free business stay.

Was clean and nice, downstairs was very luxurious looking, and the staff were kind. The hotel is good for business stays but I wouldn’t say anything else. Tv was very outdated and could not watch anything on it, the “King” bed was 2 singles with 2 single bed sheets zipped together. Aside from that everything else was good. Unfortunately I wouldn’t stay here again mainly because of the tv as I like to relax in the night time.

Shouldn't ask too much for services, value for money ! Hotel is clean but no cleaning on Sunday !!!!! It's far from city centre, however it's OK with us by renting a car, the hotel provide free parking, so it is beneficial to customer.

Nice room, convenient for access to the airport terminal. I wouldn’t recommend the room service as our meals were cold and when you pay over $100 for 2 main meals it’s not worth it.

Seriously lacking in hospitality. Asked for a latte at 5:57am and was told “ we don’t  open until 6am”
No newspapers available. Bellhop service virtually nonexistent. Room service was good. Front desk agent untrained and unsupervised. No greeting upon entering the hotel or restaurant. Great mixologist at the bar.
Kudos to Andreas the only friendly person we met not really sure what his position is there but he was great, helpful and kind to two old ladies with multiple bags.
No hand soap in the bathroom and towels were not changed.
$45.00 per day valet car service seems a bit much given that there really isn’t another option. We stayed in a “superior double double “ Not sure what superior meant. One of the beds was hard up against a wall. Less than a meter between end of beds and desk/tv stand. Entertainment system did not offer any pay as you go options just a bunch of sky. No Netflix type options. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone and most certainly will not be going back!

It was great staying at the hotel. The only problem is the rooms were not quite as you can hear the noise from nearby rooms or outside of rooms of running aircon outside units noise and this impacted our sleep. The beds were not comfortable at all. Overall had a restless night during this time. The breakfast was pretty average and not too many choices.

We chose this hotel for its location. Unfortunately for us it’s rained so the location was spoiled. But that isn’t the reason for the poor review. We were greeted by a request for $15 a day for the hotel car park (We had already paid in advance for the room and breakfast). The lobby and bar was full of Drs and Medical Reps for a two day convention so we had to fight our way to our room each day. We ate in the restaurant and my steak was cold and the rest luke warm. Breakfast was a buffet style and was messy, not checked and trays were empty and the worst we have had travelling. On check out we were charged again for our breakfast and the manager was condescending until she realised she was incorrect.
