"It was a good stay but the hotel is bit old and not like the pictures. I feel its bit expensive compared to the quality of the rooms. Staff and services are great but would appreciate if they can renovate their superior rooms with sea view. "I recently stayed at this hotel and was very impressed by its central location – wherever you’re heading in Faro, it’s generally no more than a six-minute walk. It’s ideal for exploring the city on foot. The standout feature for me was the rooftop restaurant and bar. The views over the sea are absolutely stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset – a perfect spot to unwind with a drink. Breakfast was another highlight: a fantastic spread with a huge variety of options, well presented and regularly replenished. Rooms are modern, spacious, and well designed, offering a comfortable stay. The gym looked well equipped, though I didn’t use it during my visit. Service was fine – polite and efficient, but very much in line with what I’ve come to expect in Portugal: functional, with no one particularly going out of their way. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a clean, modern hotel with a great location, excellent breakfast, and memorable views."

"Unfortunately, the stay was not very comfortable. The room heater was not working, making the room extremely cold during winter. There was also a very loud noise coming from the air conditioner; this was reported to the staff, but no action was taken. The room itself is very small, and the shower area in the bathroom is also quite cramped. While the hotel is affordable, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. That said, the receptionists were kind and polite, which was appreciated."

"Faro, the capital of the Algarve, reminded me of Phuket Town. However, the old town of Faro is more photogenic. This hotel is located near the old town, as are the bus and train stations. The hotel has a nice design; you can relax in the courtyard outside the restaurant, which has a small soaking tub. This place is a base for hiking along the Algarve coast. The Algarve coast is very beautiful and a popular vacation spot for Americans. Faro Airport is modern and stylish."

"★☆☆☆☆ – An Absolute Joke of a “Luxury” Guesthouse If you value your money, sanity, and basic respect, do NOT stay at Opus One Guesthouse in Faro. Our experience was so appalling that I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. First off, the way we were treated when we dared to raise an issue was nothing short of disgusting. A small matter (which wasn’t even our fault) went from calm conversation to the staff turning into the rudest, most disrespectful people I’ve ever encountered in hospitality. Their sudden change in tone was jaw-dropping – one minute friendly, the next minute nasty and condescending. They tried to slap us with hidden charges for the most ridiculous things – tea bags, coffee, and even toothpaste. Yes, toothpaste. As if that wasn’t laughable enough, they attempted to charge us for a bedsheet with a “burn hole” they never once mentioned during our entire stay – only dropping this little surprise on us at the very last minute when we were checking out. The “queen bed” they proudly advertised? Absolute nonsense. It was literally two separate beds shoved together, leaving a lovely gap right down the middle. Comfort? Forget it. The coffee machine in our room was useless, unless you enjoy appliances that don’t work without fuss. And as for the room itself, I guess “luxury” now means holes in the walls from old power sockets that they’ve half-heartedly covered up. This place has the audacity to market itself as a luxury guesthouse, but the reality is an overpriced, poorly managed, run-down property with staff who clearly believe rudeness is part of the décor. Avoid this place at all costs – there are far better places in Faro that actually deserve your money and won’t treat you like an inconvenience."

"When arrived was greeted by Helia who very pleasantly showed myself & daughter to our room. Was very clean, towels provided & bed made. Kitchen tidy. When was there people made effort in keeping it clean for everyone. Washroom was fine no issues as wanted shower straight away when arrived. Used Uber to get to beach isn't much cost but if you fancy a walk instead is easy to get to. Overall very impressed for the price, if go back will very much likely look to stay here again."

"The apartment is managed by the hostel on the corner. The reception is always open, so they'll be happy to help with any needs you may have. The bed is comfortable, and we had a great stay; there's also a large, fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom, however, is really small, and hot water struggles to get there. A good option for families on short stays."
