I am a customer living in 407 on 9th of November in Holiday Inn Express & Suites Calgary NW - University Area, an IHG Hotel. . I am writing to complain  the lady on the front desk. She treated me not respectful. When we checked in, I am asking if we have hot spring, she replied several what? And correct me “hot tub” such as I am lack of knowledge. Later, I want to use Landry room and change dollars with them. They gave me several two dollars, and the washing machines only accept 1 dollars, which they should have known at first place. So I went back to the front desk to ask for 1 dollars again. And at that time. There is one guy lining in front of another front desk server. And the lady was answering the phone.  So I naturally stood in front of her desk and waited for her. And I asked her to change 1 dollars for me since they didn’t know. And then she asked me” don’t u notice there is a line? You should wait after it.” So I was so embarrassed to find out I cut in line. So if she is really mindful about me cutting in line, Why not telling me to wait after? Or just remind me in a more respectful way assuming I really don’t know there is a line? Either way will have same effect and I would be acknowledged in a not embarrassing way. And again, the washing machine only accept 1 dollar and they did not know, is their job dereliction. I am very concerned how your service match up with your high level of fees.

I don't typically stay in hostels, but this was a great find! Very clean property, quiet, and peaceful. It is about a 30min drive to the downtown area and no shops within walking distance so you'll need to drive or get an Uber. Other, great room (I stayed in the cozy room), very cleab, bed is big and comfortable. Free towels and bath amenities. The kitchen has a decent amount of cookware. There is a living room and a room with a fireplace so lots of space to lounge around. Staff are also kind and quick to respond, just give them a text or call. Good pricing and easy check-in process. Will definitely book again!

The landlords ( husband & wife) are very friendly, helpful, nice & accommodating. The wife Ms Shujie Guo waited for us patiently to arrive at the air bnb before returning to their own home which is a short distance away. (NB: we did not get the message or e-mail for the main door number access code & she know that it has happened before. So she took the initiative to wait for us which we arrived at night at about 9 pm on that day). This air bnb house provided full cooking facilities including the ingredients & spices. The common area are very clean & tidy. The bedroom & bathroom are equally clean & tidy. There is a garden at the back of the house which is beautifully layout. The landlord lady Ms Jhujie Guo even went to the extent to alert my wife that there were northern lights & informed us to go to the open space to see. With our iPhone 14 pro max handphone, we managed to see the beautiful northern lights ( aurora). Unfortunately we were unable to capture the dancing lights as we do not have the camera stand. This is a bonus as we did not expect to see Northern lights in Calgary! We felt like we were living at our own home. We would highly recommend those who are looking for accommodation in Calgary to stay at Brothers Li Homestay.

PPengguna TetamuIt’s the best for a person who has overnight layover! Like they are trained for that specifically. Free shuttle bus any time is real! But I couldn’t contact them by email though. Gotta call them, hope they fix that, I emailed a lot prior to my trip too. And the staffs are so kind that it made me feel safe and secure that I will not miss my flight 😌 If you have to leave early for flight before breakfast time. They will give you muffins and apples! The room was so big and nice, I wish I didn’t have the flight to catch so I can keep sleeping in that humungous king bed. There’s an atm at the lobby.

Pros: -Clean room with comfortable beds -Shower had lots of hot water and good water pressure. -nice clean waterpark with helpful and friendly attendant who did not rush us at the end of the night when our young kiddo was dragging his feet to avoid having to leave - heated pools and 2 water slides made the hotel more appealing for us with having our kids along Cons: - the waterpark slides did not have enough of an angle so we couldn’t get down the slides with out having to propel ourselves at times which was odd but also nearly comical -tiny rooms especially for the price. It felt a bit cramped with the limited furniture and the kids on pull out sofa. - the bathroom door provided zero privacy from the rest of the room with no sound barrier, plus it had a “frosted” glass panel as the main part of the door so it was completely see through, and was a tiny bathroom. - no in room microwave so we missed out on being able to heat up leftover takeout from our trip to help us keep costs down and reduce waste unless my husband went hunting for one to use on the main floor, but that was quite a hike when we are on 4th floor so food was cooled right down by the time it made it back to our room. - ordering from the menu at the onsite breakfast restaurant was expensive and the food was quite disappointing. My kids seemed to enjoy the breakfast buffet at least which was free for 5 & under at least.

PPengguna TetamuNot our first time staying here -but we left with a sense of frustration today! It began when the front desk couldn’t find our reservation - twice ! (despite a phone call 2 hours prior to check in). Had to take my driver’s licence and go “somewhere to talk to someone in the back” - then he came back (after 2 or so  minutes) and “magically” the reservation had been found. Unnerving for my identification to disappear from my sight. No explanation offered. Frustrated again at check out when the desk clerk tried to charge us for something from the snack bar in our room - we had literally left our room 2 minutes before. Couldn’t tell us what item we had “consumed” (we hadn’t consumed anything - especially at those prices!) and then when asked how they could possibly know within 2 minutes (of us leaving our room) that an item had been consumed - they became very defensive and couldn’t actually answer the question of “how do you know what to charge us for” and the response was “it’s for the report at the end of the day - no one is saying you actually took anything”. Except that’s exactly what the desk clerk said the charge was going to be for - “an item from the snack bar for a total of $4.20”. After challenging the charge we were told that no charge would be put through on the credit card. Made to feel like we had “stolen” something when we asked for further clarification on the charge. “No apologies or thank you for staying with us”. Disappointing. Side note - Service in the ****** was great - including the restaurant.

GGTANKSMy fellow Rotarian and I came for the 2025 Rotary International Conference in Calgary. The stay was pleasant. Service was excellent. Room was cleaned daily which was nice returning to a tidy clean room. Coffee and tea were replenished daily which was great. I will highly recommend to friends and family. The hotel was so close to the airport. Shuttle service was provided to the airport which was convenient. I liked the lobby display ready for the 2015 Calgary Stampede from July 1st 2025 for ten days.

One small note: the staff sometimes seemed a bit rushed to take away forks and knives. A little more time would be appreciated. Overall, it’s a great hotel for families. And a funny moment — my Cheetos got stuck in the vending machine, and because my English is limited, I ended up giving up 😄

MMichelle BillingtonI always enjoy my stay at Deerfoot Inn & ******. The purpose of my trip was to hang out with my sister and catch up on our lives. The deluxe queen room was spacious and welcoming. I found a stain on the top sheet when the cover topper fell away. Just looked like a coffee stain, but jeez?! We went down to the buffet for supper, and the prime rib and scalloped potatoes were delicious, as well as the other entries. After we ate, we sat in the lounge next to the restaurant. I loved the big, comfortable chairs we chose to sit on. When I got up to use the ladies' room, my hips were out of sorts for several steps because the chairs are sitting too low. May I suggest they update the furniture as I noticed other older guests having the same issue.

Stains on blinds, not the typical spacious room I'm used to . The heating system made constant dragging noise at intervals all night . We couldn't sleep . Not what I was expecting . Then I called to see if there was an option to get the room upgraded , the lady that picked up was too eager to shut me off . There was no professionalism . Microwave was making creaking noise and the tv wasn't working when I checked in though that was fixed promptly when I called them in . I'll give them a 5/10. I've been to other Holiday Inns in Edmonton, and they are top class with very decent people at the front desk . This is just one old hotel trying to live up to the franchise name. Not close !!!!! Never again!!!

JJames Y. HuangGreat value for a short term stay near the YYC, with turn off from major road BarlowTrail NE. The front entrance is a bit confusing if approaching from the rear industrial area. Staff were friendly and professional, usual hotel damage deposit and person staying in expectation. The room was very spacious and clean, although a bit dated. AC was a bit louder than expected, but was able to sleep through. I didn't have time to use the amenities (pool and gym).

PPengguna TetamuThis motel is not Econo Lodge in & suites university. Which we stayed also, and was much better than this one (econo lodge motel village). The room was small and the bathroom smelled unpleasant. The smell came from the shower curtain, which touches the bath tub water. When taking a shower, the water doesn't drain as fast so your feet end up soaking in that water along with the smelly fabric shower curtain. Also, the bath was weirdly higher than the ground so be very careful when getting in. During our stay, there were several bugs that found their way into our room during the night (Mosquitos, flies). The buzzing sound prevented us to sleep so we had to kill the bugs and go back to sleep each time. We also had problems with our room key, we had them replaced several times and you have to slide the card quite a few times before it unlocks. I think it's loose and you need to get the exact right angle, which is annoying when you have your hands full. I recommend the other econolodge situated behind this one. The staffs here are very friendly. For breakfast, they offered coffee, tea but without lids. There's bread and juice served in a solocup (but u can just use the coffee cup). There were muffins. If you have allergies, I suggest you to bring your own food. The price for this motel vs the other econolodge were the same. We try to avoid staying at the same place for our whole trip in case we don't like our room but we ended regretting not booking the other econolodge for our entire trip.
