"We were unlucky, after arriving at the hotel quite late, the room we were in turned out to be broken, the heater/ac was broken, after that we were offered to move rooms, which was really troublesome for us and made us disappointed .The good news is, the hotel is next to Anytime Fitness, which my son just had to walk there."

"Great stay at Best Western Plus Suites Downtown! The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had plenty of options. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay."

"I'm not the one that leaves bad reviews but I have to do this . This isn't your typical holiday inn you're used to . Far from it . Stains on blinds, not the typical spacious room I'm used to . The heating system made constant dragging noise at intervals all night . We couldn't sleep . Not what I was expecting . Then I called to see if there was an option to get the room upgraded , the lady that picked up was too eager to shut me off . There was no professionalism . Microwave was making creaking noise and the tv wasn't working when I checked in though that was fixed promptly when I called them in . I'll give them a 5/10. I've been to other Holiday Inns in Edmonton, and they are top class with very decent people at the front desk . This is just one old hotel trying to live up to the franchise name. Not close !!!!! Never again!!!"

"Hotel was super nice. Lovely pool and gym. Located right next to the free metro. We came a bit earlier but Aman was superb, super friendly and welcoming, he made sure he could get in the room because it was freezing outside. He made our whole stay. Very grateful for him. Would defnitly stay here again."

"Location strategic as there are fewer homeless people around compared with the 7th Avenue or core shopping area, and I didn't feel unsafe during my stay. It's near Chinatown too. I however do not particularly like this hotel as there's no kettle inside the room, air conditioning is rather strong and couldn't be adjusted except the temperature. Nothing to eat nearby and the restaurant on 2/F requires booking. The hotel doesn't have a character itself. Most ridiculous is that they require a security deposit by really debiting my credit card upon my checkin (usually hotels won't present the card for similar deposit as security)."

"This was really good! Safe location near the university with a bunch of other hotels. It’s clean with decent shower. Car parking is gated underground. Breakfast spread is above average! Recommended."

"I checked in on 31 May 2026 and checked out on 1 June 2026. I was requested by the hotel to pay a deposit of CAD100 upon check in. As the credit card machine encountered some problems, the receptionist advised me to try payment in another machine. I realised on the next day that both of the transactions were successfull and my credit card was debited twice with total payment of CAD200. I contacted the hotel and they informed me that the payment will be refunded in 5-7:days. As at 29 June 2026, almost coming to a month, I have yet to receive the refund. I am very unhappy with the refund policy as I have received the refund of deposit from other hotels within 4-5 days. I hope the hotel looks into this complaint seriously and act accordingly."
